Obama to Trump: You Didn’t

Original Article

Former President Obama took to Twitter Monday for the purpose of celebrating the 11th anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). It seemed an odd time to celebrate an $830 billion “stimulus” bill that is universally regarded as a failure. Even the New York Times described ARRA as an ineffective exercise in neoliberalism in an opinion piece titled “Barack Obama’s Biggest Mistake.” Yet our erstwhile president insists that it launched “more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.” This is easy to dismiss as solipsistic bluster, but there is method in Obama’s madness..

And by any standard of the day, o'Bombastic, you were never a natural born US Citizen. Doesn't matter if you were born on US soil, or not, your biological father was not a US citizen, and your mother was too young to convey citizenship, under the circumstances. Then she married an Indonesian. No. I will never consider you a legitimate US President. Just a pretender foisted on us by foreign interests and the media. And YOU certainly didnt build this Economy, Mr. 'Manage-the-Decline'.

Yea, decreasing Obambi regulations and taxes, not to mention putting America's interest first with trade, had nothing to do with the economy. If we had just put in more regulations, taxes and run off millions more jobs overseas, we would be basking in the glow of a 0.9% yearly GDP growth.

Now that somebody is doing way better than you ever did, you are trying to steal the credit for that too. We know the reality and you did not build this Stinky. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was accused of "egomania" and accepting Russian assistance Saturday, after he remarked that neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party can stop his 2020 presidential campaign. Sanders and his supporters warned establishment leaders of both of America's two major political parties that rumors of Russian help and continued hopes for a brokered July Democratic convention won't slow down the presidential front-runner. "I've got news for the Republican establishment. I've got news for the Democratic establishment. They can't stop us," Sanders tweeted Friday evening.

In this desert city built on hopes, dreams and neon lights, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg made a wild gamble to emerge from the protective bubble of his $400 million ad campaign and face five rivals for the Democratic nomination head-on in a nationally televised debate. The high-stakes debut ended up as a bust – all under the glare of the intense media spotlight.Bloomberg, who decided to skip the early voting primary and caucus states in favor of delegate-rich Super Tuesday, wasn’t ready for prime time. He seemed detached, unprepared, and out of touch with working-class voters. The media and financial mogul was surging before Wednesday night, but limped away

What’s worse: choosing a socialist for your party’s presidential nominee, or taking the nomination away from one at a contested convention? With the presidential primaries underway, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is the front-runner for the Democratic nomination. In a fragmented field featuring several ambitious, funded and hard-headed candidates, Sanders stands the best chance of leading the delegate chase by the time Democrats hold their convention in Milwaukee in mid-July. Why? His small-dollar donor army is stable, unmoved by news cycles and the ups and downs that befall other campaigns. The Bernie Bros stick through thick and thin,

For all of the agonizing within Joe Biden’s inner circle over how to cure what ails the former vice president’s anemic presidential run – fourth place in Iowa, fifth place in New Hampshire, presumably another setback in Nevada this weekend – there’s an obvious fix: roll out Barack Obama’s endorsement post haste. Specifically (and yes, it assumes that Biden would be Obama’s favorite among the Democrats remaining in the race), have the former president endorse his ex-running mate in the week leading up to the Feb. 29 Democratic presidential primary in South Carolina. Why the Palmetto State? Democratic political operatives have been banging their heads against the wall trying to figure out what went wrong in 2016. How did the party lose one of the most winnable elections in recent history? What can they do differently in 2020 to right that electoral wrong? But what if Democrats are looking at the wrong election for lessons about how to win 2020?When all is said and done, the 2016 election might end up being a black-swan event. The combination of Russian interference, Comey intervention and multiple third-party candidates make that election a hard one to extract guidance from. Besides, running for an open seat is a fundamentally different

A newly minted district attorney for a major American city vows to establish an immigration unit. At first blush, that would seem entirely normal for a prosecutor’s office. Immigration laws require enforcement, and prosecutors are in the law-enforcement business. But no—the new San Francisco DA actually has in mind an immigration defense unit. He wants to assign a staff of prosecutors to protect undocumented aliens—those who are either illegal and thus deportable to begin with, or for whom a criminal conviction could result in loss of lawful status and thus eventual deportation.

Nearly a half-century ago, a young University of Vermont political scientist was rummaging through the stacks of the Howe Memorial Library when he was accosted by an agitated figure fulminating about millionaires and displaying an unsettling fixation on the Rockefeller family. “I asked myself how I could get away from this guy,” said Garrison Nelson. “I kept moving and figured I would never see or hear from him again.” The world cannot seem to get away from Bernie Sanders — and indeed the world is hearing from him again.
