CNN analyst Van Jones appears to recognize a political head-on collision before it happens.
He’s now warning leftist viewers to wake up to the realities of what can occur with Trump’s next run for the White House in 2020, according to his appearance on a panel in the aftermath of the president’s SOTU speech.
One of the most worrisome moments for Van Jones was the president’s pitch for improved education for African-Americans. “You may not like it,” Van Jones cautioned his fellow panelists, “but he mentioned HBCU’s (historically black colleges and universities), have been struggling for a long time,

Freaking out over every move made by the president, Van Jones warns, will not get Democrats back on track, or allow them to regain the White House.
Why in the name of all that is good for Black America doesn't Jones just support President Trump and quit worrying about Democrats? Apparently black lives don't mean so much to him.

I remember a time when politicians ultimately did what was right for the country. Not so much these days.

Wow, a formerly hard core "progressive" Van Jones is seeing the effectiveness of Trump policies !!! If he's turning then Trump may take a huge bite out of the Dems' "Black Community" and turn them into "Individual Americans". Keep up the thought process Mr. Jones.

So Van, it's time to make a choice. Do you want what's best for Blacks, or what's best for the Dem Party? Hint: You can't have both.

Van Jones has a big problem: he is trying to "warn" the Left about how good Trump's policies are going to be for the black community, while simultaneously being a part of the media machine that works 24/7 to smear Trump for everything he does. The Leftist media has done a great job reinforcing a negative opinion of Trump. In fact, it has so good a job that, when Sean Hannity visited a group of democrat voters prior to the New Hampshire primary and asked if Joe Biden using his influence as Vice President to intimidate the Ukrainians into ending a probe involving his son Hunter gave the impression of impropriety, the answer one man gave was "I don't like Trump". It's too late, Van. The country is fed up with the Democrats BS, with unending investigations, constant smears, Pelosi ripping the SOTU. The Left is done for this election cycle. Wait till November and see what happens.

"president’s achievements remain their worst nightmare"
Because they are achievements for ALL Americans. The dems are positioning themselves in opposition to the success of the American People. Sounds like they are setting themselves up to be YUGE losers. Further, they are on a runaway train to that end. The only way to survive it will be to jump off before the crash in November. How many will be smart enough to do so?

Face it. There are some issues which will forever separate Republicans and Dems. The biggie is abortion. Frankly, I think the Dems care more about 'Choice' than anything else. But while being Pro-life as to abortion is important, Republicans have an opportunity to enlarge their base by expanding the concept of being 'Pro-life' to include the needs of minorities, the elderly, those who have been made destitute by illness, and yes, our young who've been impoverished by college debt. Addressing these needs without having to pretend that Socialism is the answer could forever relegate the Dems to the backwaters of American life.

President Trump, being a seasoned strategist and deal maker, knew that the Black male and married with kids vote is something Dems have neglected, and even ignored, for decades. Black families have suffered the most from bad Democrat policies. Helping Black men and Black families is the right thing to do but it is also politically saavy. It's obviously a gamble but you would have to be a fool to bet against our President.

Wake-up call? These idiot Rip Van Winkles have been hitting the snooze button for the last 40 years when it comes to socialism and their party. It's too late. Too bad, so sad.

Trump has always wanted to ACTUALLY fix things, not just talk about the problems and hint at some sort of government program that would benefit a few who ended up with the gov't job, which is how the Democrats have controlled things for the last 50 years.
They get a few people a gov't job, then those people feel obligated to vote for the one who provided them that job, and they also get the people who are getting a benefit since they frighten them into believing the other guy wants to take that benefit away from you.

LBJ reportedly once said about passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, "I'll have those n.......s voting Democratic for 200 years." Well, fifty at least.
Some blacks are getting woke to the fact they are on a political plantation, a self-segregated "community" largely of their own making that limits, even prohibits, social and economic progress and integration. Those with connections to "Martin" and waving his bloody shirt, ranting about Selma and Bull Connor, shaking down corporations and government, are fading from the scene, and virtually all are/were professional Democrats. There is a big and growing black middle class that is questioning "giving back" when it appears more simple effortless taking than useful give-a-hand-up assistance.
Now, the big challenge will to keep the "professionals" out of the evolution process. This is work for Kanye, Van Jones and others within the community...not anyone else.

This article either triggered or culminated a thought process for me.
TRUMP IS THE FIRST POLITICIAN I HAVE EVER SEEN WHO IS NOT KICKING THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD.
Because he's not a politician. He does not want to hang in to collect his DC pension. He wants to solve problems and keep them solved.
