Impeachment has backfired far beyond the worst nightmares Democrats could have imagined. In its aftermath, President Donald Trump’s approval rating is actually now at its highest ever.
For them, it is the fourth quarter and the clock is getting close to zero, with Election Day nine months off. Joe Biden is fading, the party asking to take over health care can’t count votes in a modest-sized state, and its leader in Congress is so unglued she rips up Trump’s State of the Union speech. But is there a Hail Mary pass some prominent figure on the left could attempt, to

Nice try, Ed Board. I guess this could happen if the democrats figure out a way to get anyone elected for any office (outside of California or New York). Other than that, it's a cute little exercise.

So the Democrats love RBG so much they want her to quit.
They'd hope to stir up enough outrage at her conservative replacement to oust Trump, a maneuver the board here describes as a desperate "Hail Mary."
Other phrases that comes to mind are, the Democrats are asking Justice Ginsburg to "fall on her own sword," something she has explicitly refused to do, or "take one for the team," though I don't think she regards herself as part of a Supreme Court "team."
The Board credits no Democrat with this idea, but it's so dumb ("you're our favorite Justice, so quit") they might jump on it.

For some reason I suspect the Dems have exhausted their frontal assault strategy. What cred the Dems may have had with the general public is dissipated. Better to let Mitt, the "moderate" GOPe has-beens, and the UNIPARTY to take turns doing some heavy lifting.

Methinks there is a bit of overthinking going on here. RBG may leave the Court, feet first. And if her logical replacement is amy Conan Barrett, there will be blacks who will be offended by her adoption of Haitian children who are black.
the National Association of Black Social Workers, in 1973, took the official position that whites should not be allowed to adopt black children, because the whites will not know how to rear the black children. The Adoption Act of 1996 forbids racial tests in adoptions, but the NABSW still adheres to the 1973 policy.
we should all take a deep breath.

I'm sticking with the more simple theory: The dems will claim that any POTUS who was ever "impeached" should never be allowed to appoint a supreme court justice. Remember "Impeached for life?"

Ruthie ain't going anywhere. Interesting premise but I don't see a Hail Ruthie Pass as the desperate dems last electoral gasp. For one thing, I think Ruthie adores all the attention she garners from being "Notorious RBG" on the Supreme Court.

We already know that Democrats will stoop to anything to stop conservative Supreme Court nominees. #5 makes a good point but there is no such rule in place and the current Senate will not impose one. Thankfully the House has no say. Ginsburg is in it until she dies. And she doesn't care more about Washington politics than she does for herself. She will not be making the sacrifice.

RBG will never go for the gamble - she loves the job too much. But more importantly, trying this stunt would also energize the Republican base in anticipation of our finally having a Supreme Court free of the need for Chief Justice Roberts.

I don't believe that RBG is able to function. Her cases are handled by her team and she nods approval.

Whose to say that Justice Ginsburg would go along with any such Democrat proposals that she should announce that she will be quitting the court? Remember the Democrats wanted her to quit during the Second Obama term so that Obama could replace her with a partisan liberal, but she did not do that. Some say that Ginsburg thought Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election and that Ginsburg wanted to wait and give Clinton the chance to replace her with a feminist. Ginsburg will first wait to see who the Democrat nominee will be, and only then will make a decision on her future on the court. Of course that is if the man upstairs does not ring her bell before that time.

It may happen after the end of the first snowball fight in Hell. Seriously, if this is all the Democrats have left, they have reached the bottom of the barrel and found it empty.

Right now - - Ruth Buzzi G. sits propped up stiffly on her chair - - with a barely detectable heartbeat - - while her clerks do all the work.
What difference would it make if that heartbeat ceased completely? Why - - none at all. So Ruth Buzzi G. will continue to "sit" on the court - - ad infinitum.

No one with as many cancer recurrences as RBG is "cancer free." More like "undetectable." My wish is that she lives past election day to (1) see Trump reelected, and (2) know that Trump will pick her replacement.

These lunatics are totally desperate. But this isn't going to happen.
Like the KC Chiefs 4th quarter in the Super Bowl, expect a few more TDs in the fourth quarter for President Trump.

If she dies, the Dems will still keep her in her seat on the Supreme Court bench. Weekend at Ruthie's.

Since RBG didn't show at the State of the Union, maybe we need a monthly "proof of life" visit with a TV interviewer, ask a few simple questions, show that the old bag is still alive and aware.

What crazy person wrote this thing up? If RGB quits in May, Trump and "Cocaine Mitch" will have her seat filled by June 1. That man has been a mfing judge steamroller!

Why would anyone in their right mind want to continue working when your health is rapidly failing and you are as old as dirt? RBG appears as though she's already been embalmed!
