I grew up in Minnesota, the heart of the Midwest: a blue state of really nice, hard-working people who love winter, lefse, and Al Franken. Starting at about 13 years old until college, I worked for my dad, a successful remodeling contractor, over school breaks.
I hated the work. Often the only female on a construction site or a hotel in the midst of remodeling, I felt awkward. I got dirty. I wasn’t good at painting or wallpapering. The hours were longer than anything I’d ever experienced, and we rarely ate out during the day. (Somehow cold granola bars just added to the laboriousness.)
I know, I sound like a wimp.
I introduced my three children to Rush, when they were toddlers. All of us listen whenever we can, and God Bless Rush!

The thing of it is, Rush didn't "make" me a conservative. He merely challenged me to think, and investigate, for myself. To not automatically believe the group-think propaganda of the mainstream media, but rather to critically consider what they were actually saying. When I started doing that, I realized how dishonest they were, and how right Rush was.

My wonderful father has been gone for 23 years now. The ONLY time I argued with this good man was when we would jokingly state that we "heard Rush first!" Rush's program was picked up locally in (I believe) 1989. We spent time together listening to this font of wisdom. But the thing I really appreciated about Rush is that he helped me to better understand what my father and my grandfather had been saying since long before I was born. I am very proud to state that I have NEVER voted for any dim in a federal election. As a matter of fact, I have only voted for ONE dim in any state or local election. That ONE dim was a friend of the family, who I knew to actually be honest (for a dim). Thanks Dad. Thanks Rush!

We are THIS close (he said, holding his index finger almost touching his thumb) to turning America back into one that our Founders envisioned and those that followed fought and in some cases, died for. Rush must be proud of the part he played in this important battle as there are millions of people of voting age and beyond that discovered the value of the ballot as a result of the EIB degrees out there across the fruited plain. As another poster mentioned last week, it is Rush and those in his wake that will share in his legacy. I am so fortunate and proud to have grown up in the Dittohead Nation (since the first day of our local radio broadcast in 88) and will continue to wear the shirt proudly.

A reminder: you never graduate from Rush school. There is always more to learn.
Rush is a genius at selecting people. Consider Bo Snerdley, for one. What a great choice. Here is the guy who either opens or shuts the door to a caller. So the obnoxious ones and the repeat callers never get on. How smart is that?
Consider the "stack of stuff" crew who find the print materials and sound bytes for the program. They do not get enough recognition. Without their work the program would fail. Rush can always back up what he says.
Consider the advertisers. They know for certain that they are getting the audience that they pay for, and that having someone in the chair who is right 99.4% of the time is helpful to their message. And those who drop Rush pay the price!
He does not raise his voice; he does not scold; he does not call names; he just educates. And by not putting people off, he puts them in. Into the picture of what a great country this is, how freedom is so wonderful, how capitalism works, and why the U S is a beacon to the world.
I am certain Nicole is not alone. I wish more mushy-heads would listen to Rush and not just ignore him because he is not liberal.
Listen.
You might learn something!

Rush definitely helped "steal" some of the blue collar working class away from the democrats. I have friends with teenagers (I think they call them Zoomers) that are huge Trump fans. They think he is funny and cool; doesn't take any crap.

How nice. Allowing in tens of millions of legal and illegal 'refugees' will make your vote absurd. How nice. Your children will be the victims of these leftists who are/will take over our country.

I have been listening to Rush ever since he announced he had buses in LA that would transport homeless to Malibu because Honorary Mayor Sheen’s declaration of Malibu as a sanctuary for the dispossessed May 24, 1989. Here's the La Times story-----https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-05-24-me-410-story.html
