2020 presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders said Friday that “we have a racist society from top to bottom.” The Vermont senator spoke Friday evening at ABC’s Democratic debate in New Hampshire, where he discussed racism in the United States as former Vice President Joe Biden and billionaire Tom Steyer argued over who has more support from black voters. “We have a racist society from top to bottom,” Sanders said, adding that this “racist society” is “impacting health care, housing, criminal justice, education — you name it.”

Someone should ask the Red Geezer what he personally has done to remedy the fact that Vermont is one of, if not THE whitest state in the Union. Does he support segregation yesterday, today and forever?

I watched 2, 3-min segments of the debate last night. Each time I saw Sanders, and every time he is on TV in a sound bite, he is ranting and yelling.
He gets more Communist-looking every day.

Gee who saw this coming, huh.
All ya gotta do is check the Communist party website a few times a month to see what issue Bernie will rail about next week.
It’s their playbook.

There is one way to take care of that and it is to ensure that no one votes for a supposed- democrat.

Very interesting...a bunch of old. millionaire white guys talking about how unfair and racist the country that made them millionaires is. Unfortunately the Democrat Party has pretty much dumped all the black candidates who might have confirmed their assertion.
Oh wait. They DID confirm their assertion. As least in the Democrat Party.

Meanwhile, out here in Realville flyover country, most of us various races are all getting along just fine. It’s only in demonrat run urban areas that there are racial problems. I wonder why that is? (Not)

I had no idea that this ol' commie was the ONLY person in the country that wasn't racist. Whatta guy! So, the only way to fix this is to dump all the laws of the land and open the prison gates, right Comrade? Wonder if any democrats or Independents are sick and tired of being called RACIST by this gang of nutjobs and their lapdogs in the so-called media?

They were talking about themselves and they are all racist. They have promised the African American people everything under the sun for the last 30 years. Now Trump comes along and his policies are really making a difference in their lives and community. He is reaching out to them for their votes keeping his promises and doing the right things.
It is apparent the Democrats want to keep the blacks on drugs, un-educated, and on food stamps so they can control their votes. It's way past time for the blacks to leave the Democrat cesspool of corruption and make better lives for them and future generations to come.

My take away is that if we vote for Big Bernie or one of the other socialist we won't be considered a racist. Trying to get votes from people through guilt just doesn't seem like a winning strategy.
BTW #3 I'm diggin' the term Red Geezer.

America does have racial problems. Even more so after the Obama 8 year fiasco.
The problem with Bernie and the democrats is that they blame the whole racial problem on whites.
The fact is blacks are even more racist than those they charge with being racist.
It's a two way street that the Democrats have hung a ONE WAY sign on.

Anytime your answer is Government Handouts, you don't believe that All People Were Created Equal. Other wise you wouldn't (still) be trying to balance the scales. Subsidizing Poverty creates more Poverty, and keeps people of all colors/races in subservience.

From ''top to bottom'' would include democrats! Bernie's supporters might want to take issue with that, providing they are not democrats.
As we know, the democrat party is the historical party of rabid racism. It includes the cities of our northern states, where blacks are kept in poor ghettos, denied good education, made dependent on the democrat race hustlers, and permitted to live in a violent environment. Democrat controlled cities, where the hypocrites preach to everyone else while their cities decay.

Race is like a scab. As we grow and learn, we realize that picking at scabs retards the healing process and may even lead to infection, so we refrain from picking - even though there's an urge. As is true of many issues, liberals never let common sense and life experience apply to their worldview. They keep picking at the scab - either because they remain ignorant or are compelled by the desire to show the world how wounded they are.
The only way to eliminate racism is leave it alone and let it finish healing.

So according to him; all of us who work in "the system" doctors, nurses, teachers, police, real estate agents, builders, plumbers, electricians, lawyers, juries, judges courts...because, even if he doesn't realize it, that IS what he's saying. He can't get away with calling "the system" evil and racist without impugning those of us who make up "the system". Yet, he excuses himself, even though he is a rich white man who, for almost 30 years, has been a Congressman and Senator in the very government that oversees the evil racist "system" that he is bemoaning. Yet, according to him HE is a pure and the wind-driven snow and is annointed to be our collective conscience and point out all of OUR shortcomings only so that he can heal us. So, SENATOR Sanders should remember that when he points an accusatory finger at others he needs to recognize the he is pointing three fingers back at himself.

They are cutting their own throats with this. The overwhelming majority of Americans know that they are not racist, and that most "racism" today is against whites, as blacks and Hispanics get special treatment.
This BS story not only doesn't help them, it hurts them, shows up them as total liars.

Of course such a statement cannot be wrong. Still Sen. Sanders certainly knows this is misleading.
Society— as such— is made of every social strata by definition; ergo some people in it— somewhere— are not living up to the highest civic ideals.
The problem is an electorate unlettered and unreasoning, and multiple subcultures, emotionally-charged by a media culture that’s passionately emotive, and lacking— in some people’s opinions— adequate sang froid as to how their greater societal cohort may regard their chosen or biologically inevitable separateness, worked up about denial of their rights and the world’s indifference to their harm.
Such claims are never false; or rather are so value-charged that no rhetoric could do justice in expressing their truths.
Life ...is terribly unfair.
One need not put up with real oppression. On the other hand in a pluralistic society one must put up with every disagreement.
That’s the deal.

I haven't seen anyone interview the white man beaten up by 11 'youths' on the Chicago EL. He would probably agree there is rampant racism in the country.
He's easy to find: he's in the hospital recovering.

I didn't know there was a socialist debate on Friday but witnessed sound bites on Fox and for the life of me I saw people struggling for identity. The 'Red Geeze' was flaming with Joe Biden wishing he was home eating Jello. I grew up in the deep south and never gave race a second thought neither did any of my black friends. After Obama hit the scene things changed when the real racist came out of the closets. Now at my older age lets just say I'm not racist but more cautious about some people of any color. The Red Geezer gets more frantic every time I see him he must think he's Lenin standing in the Russian square during the Revolution. Maybe the Red Geeze watched too many re-runs of Dr. Zhivago and longs for those days. Que Laura's theme.

I had the unfortunate experience of being on college campuses in the late 60's. I saw hundreds of people like Bernie. He looks pathetically quaint now but they were very violent and ugly then. In their hearts many remain as simple-minded and reactionary as ever. I don't know that Bernie has ever accomplished anything of note besides accumulating personal wealth. His wife is a gonef who wrecked a college. The thing is . . . if he's the nominee and Trump takes 48 or 49 states it will make no difference whatsoever. Wait a few years and the dims will nominate someone just as wrong and just as silly.

No country in the WORLD has more ethnic identities living under one flag than right here. Obviously, these Demonrats are still living in the 1950's and still believe the hype foisted on the American psyche by the leftist rags and TV reporters. The most RACIST people I have ever seen are urban blacks.
Who would you rather hang out with, whitey, one of those "white racists" you mumble about, or a Chicago 'Crip' gang member?

#34 has it right. Did not watch this mess but have seen some clips. I found it offensive the way they talked about Black people, 'I have more Blacks than you, no I have nine'. Come on that's like talking about possessions rather than people. They don't give a damn about Black people they are just looking for votes.

Bernie says the country is racist from top to bottom. I guess he excludes himself because he is perfect. He must be including blacks, native Americans, Hispanics, Asians, etc. as racists. Wow! He insults me, having never met me, and wants me to recognize him as leader. The term racist is as old and worn-out as Bernie. Get a life, Bernie! He is the crabby old guy living on the corner yelling at the kids to get off his grass.
