Former National Security Adviser John Bolton on Thursday defended the impeachment inquiry witnesses who have been attacked by President Trump, implicitly hitting back at similar criticism he has faced for his role in the process.
KXAN reported that as Bolton was speaking to a private gathering for an investment firm in Austin, Texas, he defended several of the officials who testified in the House impeachment hearings, including Alexander Vindman, William Taylor, Fiona Hill, Tim Morrison and Marie Yovanovitch.
"All of them acted in the best interest of the country as they saw it and consistent to what they thought our policies were,”

Key phrase "they thought our policies were". They aren't in charge of these policies so they get to FOLLOW the Presidents lead.

Did the 'tough' guy mention how much he was PAID by Ukrainian operatives? At least prostitutes are honest about what they do. The lowest street hooker has more integrity than this blowhard, who at one time convinced a lot of people that he was some kind of patriot. Just another punk.

Obviously we are dealing with two mega-sized egos clashing. Bolton lost, so now he starts throwing fits and the media lap it up.

Bolton is history because he thought that he was appointed to make policy rather than advise on policy and carry out the presidents wishes. He seemed not able to understand the the limits of authority specific to his pay grade. The only error of the president was to hire him in the first place. He corrected that error, Bolton was fired.

Bolton: ''All of them acted in the best interest of the country as they saw it and consistent to what they thought our policies were...''
That is another place Bolton is wrong. Officials in their positions are supposed to KNOW what our policies are. If they don't, or are unsure, they must seek guidance!
That's as bad as his statement that witnesses should be allowed to testify as to what they THINK! Not what they know.
Unelected bureaucrats think they run foreign policy according to their own ideas. That's why they get fired!

He should never work again in government. He has shown his true colors but his corruption has been revealed as well. Stupid move Bolton, if you thought the Democrats would take care of you, you are sadly mistaken. You have been used and abused. Retire in shame.

Bolton is yet another traitor discovered in the Trump administration. A person so full of himself that he places his own interests above the presidency and country. How could someone so thoroughly deficient in character have risen to that level of power?

Const. Art. II, Sec. 1: "The executive Power shall be vested in the President of the United States of America." Not Congress, not the NSC, not the State Department. The President of the United States. If President Monroe wants to declare policy regarding the western hemisphere, it is his policy. His cabinet secretaries, generals, aides and ambassadors must carry it out or resign.

So Bolton thinks it is ok to attack the President but not ok for him to defend himself.

The House can impeach him until the cows come home, but the Constitution does require a speedy trial in the Senate. For a good estimate on when McConnell would schedule another trial, ask Judge Merrick Garland.

Bolton never realized he was not the President. He served the President, not against the President. If he didn't like the President's direction he should have said so to him and resigned. Can't trust John Bolton.

But we have not heard directly from Bolton about this brewhahaha. Nor have we heard him say what they say the manuscript says. Nor have we heard Bolton speak about any of this in person. We do know that BEFORE the first leak from a 3rd party who got his information from the recollection of the 2nd party who got his recollection from what the original leaker "said" was in the manuscript....the security agency who reviews the manuscripts from gov employees, told Bolton in writing (1/23/20) that there was considerable top secret info as well as other classifications in the manuscript, and unless Bolton worked with them to remedy the issues, the manuscript could not be published. So......all this crap based on a story from the nyt? Give me a break. And Bolton is a nasty witch, isn't he?

Colton is drowning in his own ego. He had to KNOW that writing a book like this would draw a response. Trump's popularity means that Bolton will find little support on the Right and the Left has no use for him. He is casting himself into the wilderness and he deserves it. Too bad.

If Bolton supports the Vindman brothers and that annoying little ambassador woman who thought it was a good idea to bad-mouth President Trump to the Ukrainians, then Bolton's judgment is highly flawed and I have no use for him. It also means that one of the Vindmans is the likely leaker to the NY Times of the book passages.

"All of them acted in the best interest of the country as they saw it and consistent to what they thought our policies were,” Bullcrap. They all had their own idea of what the policies should be....same as Obama and Bidens to keep the corrupt money coming in. They ignored the fact that they don't set foreign policy, and thank God idiot Bolton does not either.

You had to know that Bolton would do that, as Bolton is a neocon warmonger and a longtime member of the DC Swamp, who was bound to get crosswise with President Trump, as Trump was not elected President to, and has no intention to start endless future foreign wars with countries like China, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria and Venezuela, as Bolton has advocated all along. So it was just a matter of time before Trump booted Bolton out of the White House. Bolton’s DC career has crashed and burned, as no Republican, except maybe the moron Romney, would never appoint Bolton to any position of trust in the future after his demonstrated disloyalty to the President.

Did PDJT say if he had listened to Bolton we would be in WW 5 or WW 6 or did I dream that? We can thank Bolton for the Vindman brothers as he broughtbthem intongovernment service. I wonder if they were a part of the quid pro quo for the $115,000 John Solomon said was paid to him by the Ukrainians. It seems John Bolton is no better or any more honest than a democrat.
