John Bolton could face legal challenges as he pushes ahead with a book describing conversations he claims to have had with President Trump while serving as his national security adviser, experts said, setting the conservative icon on a potential collision course with the administration he once served.
Bolton’s book, “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir,” is still scheduled to be released in March, even after the National Security Council warned his attorney last week that it will have to be revised because it contained “significant amounts” of classified material. Bolton’s lawyer has disputed that.
Amid the standoff, details about the contents of his manuscript

Talk about pride goeth before the fall. This appears to be a textbook example.
At one time I was rather fond of Bolton I suppose because he genuinely seemed to love America and loved it above himself.
This turn of events destroyed his credibility.

That the hiring of the Vindman twins was done under his approval is all i needed to learn to erase my once high opinion of bolton. Now all the dirt about what an absolute tyrant he was is coming out.

This is all so very sad. . .
I guess I don't understand how John Bolton didn't recognize confidentiality in this matter. But maybe he suffers from ego and arrogance?

Even Adam Shiff said yesterday that people will wonder why Bolton "saved it all for his book". Bingo!

Character matters and Bolton has shown he has little. I cannot believe what he has done and it appears to be out of spite and wounded ego. What is worse is that this mind numbing process of impeachment was finally winding down and with a leak we were thrown, once again, into the burning Hades of hearsay, innuendo, and media generated apoplexy. I can forgive a lot of things, but I cannot forgive Bolton for giving these reprehensible democrats another reason to falsely accuse the President of high crimes and misdemeanors. Enough! John Bolton has made himself a pariah. The left will celebrate him until they have used him up, but just as quickly as they have lauded him, they will drop him. No conservative will ever trust him again. With one reckless and terribly backstabbing action, Bolton has written his own epitaph. He will be remembered as an ungrateful and disloyal man who sold his reputation to cash in on his proximity to the President. He made the worse decision of his life by writing this self-serving book.

Rumors about this manuscript released by the “paper of record” continue to amaze. Unconfirmed and quite unbelievable, and irrelevant in any case. But if true to any real extent, make a previously admirable Bolton look like a rejected girlfriend, boyfriend or it friend. Certainly not a real friend, to PDT or the country.

Now that I see what fabulous Attorneys The President has on his Team, I would hope they drag every single person(working in the White House) in and have them sign an Agreement not to write a Book for 10 years after leaving their job. There is no reason people who get fired (think Bolton) should make millions by trashing The President. If they refuse to sign, they should be fired!

FTA: ''The idea that somehow testifying to what you think is true is destructive to the system of government we have...''
THIS is what is wrong with the democrats too. How would Bolton like to be sent to prison for what someone ''thinks?'' If someone doesn't ''know'' about an issue, they have no right to prosecute anyone for what they think. They just need to write a letter to the editor or something.
Bolton must be a closet liberal. Based on his statement , his book is probably a work of fiction. I don't care what he thinks!

Bolton's ghost writer probably went to the Kitty Kelly school of how to write salacious and actionable hearsay. Sounds like Bolton went cheap and easy on his attorney if hte attorney has no clue about what constitutes classified material.

You have to wonder how much of the manuscript in question has already been released to the New York Times that may be preparing to publish an expose just before the book is released for sale to the public? The designation of what US Government information is considered to be Top Secret, Secret, or Confidential information in the White House is within the executive prerogative of the President and not private defense lawyers.
John Bolton has reason to hope that his prospective book will sell, as anyone with any common sense will tell you that the neocon warmonger Bolton’s DC career is over, as no serious Republican, other than a Moron like Romney, would ever consider appointing Bolton to any position of trust because of his recent demonstrated disloyalty to the President of the USA.

Bolton should be tried for TREASON is he stole TOP SECRET materials for his book. His publisher should bail out as long as they still own a company.
