White House told Bolton to remove classified material from manuscript before publication. “Under federal law and the nondisclosure agreements your client signed as a condition for gaining access to classified information, the manuscript may not be published or otherwise disclosed without the deletion of this classified information,” Ellen J. Knight, a National Security Council aide, wrote in a letter to Bolton attorney Charles J. Cooper last week, which was obtained by Fox News.    Wide headline split.

Who would have ever thought, back in 2015 when Trump announced his candidacy in the Presidential election, that by 2020 the bureaucrats running Washington D.C. and their lickspittle minions in the media would rather try to destroy the country they supposedly serve instead of obeying the will of the electorate? The key to this all are the Leftists in control of the media. Without their help, the Democrats and their bureaucrat cronies couldn't control what he public sees and reads and hears; all their propaganda couldn't be brought to bear; all their efforts to sow division in the guise of "bringing us together to face issues” would gain little traction. There is a HUGE deficit of personal integrity in our unelected bureaucrats (who are supposed to serve US) and our journalists (who are supposed to watch out for US). How did we, as a country, ever come to such a turn? People today are so much more selfish than in the past.

That means someone leaked classified information. If Bolton wrote classified information and passed it on to the publisher for editing, then Bolton is guilty himself.

This is Trump reminding Bolton's and his publisher, that if Bolton let the publisher see it before it was cleared, he's guilty of releasing classified information, and if the Publisher (or one of his worker bees) leaked it to they NYT they're guilty of releasing classified information. The chain of custody on classified information is a bitch!

If there is actually information that is classified "Top Secret" that is the highest level of classifification. Disclosure could cause exceptionally grave damage to national security. It can only be legally disclosed to personnel who possess a Top Secret clearance AND have operational need to know. If Bolton actually put Top Secret classified information in his cockemamy book and passed it along to the publisher, then he committed a crime. It doesn't matter if he meant to do this, even if it was an accident it is a serious violation. When I handled Top Secret classified information only authorised personnel were allowed to view it and it was kept in a safe under two person control and it was logged any time the safe was opened and who was present. Evidently, the rules only apply to us little people.

As the House and Senate continue their struggle over the coming Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, a federal judge in Washington issued an opinion that was largely lost in the crush of New Year’s stories. The opinion could loom large in the trial, however, and one line in particular may be repeated like a mantra by the Trump defense team: “The House clearly has no intention of pursuing” the witness.

No one can be sure what her intent is. I'm not sure she even knows but her decision to wait before transmitting the articles of impeachment to the Senate is setting a bad precedent that puts politics ahead of the U.S. Constitution. For all the work that's gone into addressing the charges against President Donald Trump, it's hard to argue they rise to the level of impeachable offenses.

The tactics some Republicans are using to defend President Donald Trump against being impeached (or indicted) by the House and convicted (or removed from office) by the Senate include confusing the public about what these terms mean. One thrust is to suggest that for a president to be impeached, he must have committed a crime.

Three senators – Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, and Mitt Romney of Utah – are rumored to be willing for witnesses to be called in the impeachment trial now underway in the Senate. Obviously, such a slowdown benefits the Democrats, who want the impeachment to headline news reports as long as possible.

Mitch McConnell set up the rules for the Senate’s current impeachment hearing so that there would be an early vote on whether to call witnesses, or simply proceed to an up or down vote on impeachment. Either way, the result is foreordained, just as the impeachment process itself was foreordained when the Democrats captured the House in 2018. The president will be exonerated. The vote on whether to proceed with witnesses apparently will take place on Friday. I assume that McConnell thought it would be easy to get 51 votes in favor of terminating the Senate proceeding, but John Bolton’s ill-timed and ill-advised tell-all book
