Fox News cut away from President Donald Trump’s defense in his Senate impeachment trial several times on Monday in favor of panel discussions or interviews rather than the live feed of the proceedings.Fox spent much of the 5 p.m. EST program hour with its popular panel discussions show, The Five. Later, it cut away during The Story with Martha McCallum for interviews with former Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Ranking Member on the House Judiciary Committee Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), among others. Video footage of President Trump’s legal team making their arguments continued to play, but the audio was muted. Other, competing cable news networks

Just as Pam Bondi was getting to the Joe Biden video where he brags about getting the Ukranian prosecutor fired, they cut away to that smug weasel, Cavuto. I watched elsewhere.

Prof. Dereshowitz?... his defense about constitutional impeachment was amazing: clear, concise and in the face of house managers; even if what Bolton said happened happen.. it does not rise to the level of impeachment as spoken of my our founding Fathers. Pam Bondi made it clear... democrats, you really, really do not want to call witnesses for their lead Presidential candidate will be excoriated if witnesses are called... this case is over. We have nothing to fear - attack... and republicans, quit acting like the NY Times is God - they are pond scum that has NO authority and have proven themselves to be liars, over and over again. When someone uses them as some authority on something... please, just laugh!!!

I was so infuriated that Fox intruded on the real news to do their "yakety yak yak".... telling me what I just heard!
I had to flip over to CNN.

I agree, #2---I went right to OAN and watched all the testimony (including Prof. Dershowitz) without interruption or interference.

Fox really knows how to tick off their viewers.
I immediately switched to CSPAN.
Also, have done the same when Trump has his rallys.
Do I really want to listen to the ridiculous babble from their talking heads?
MacCallum is the worst.

#5,#8- Mystery question for C-SPAN viewers and/or computer wizards. This household is watching C-SPAN for the impeachment trial via computer. Due to having to leave the room with the computer for an hour or so twice during the hearings, upon returning to the computer, a message on the screen read “your time-out has expired” and the live streaming had ceased. Two options were given: resume from beginning, or watch live. Mystery question: How does C-SPAN know no one is watching for varying periods of time?

Yet they (Fox) didn't cut away during the 3 day Schiff show, at least when I tuned in. I could only watch a few minutes of the Schiff show show, and I had to switch channels or just shut of the TV. I was plesantly surprised to see it on in my optometrists waiting room today, so I got to see PDT's defense in action.

Queue the inane talking heads. How can they talk for hours without saying anything meaningful?
Haven't watched any of the hearings. No need. I can make up my own mind.

What FOX doesn’t get is that large numbers of conservatives no longer get much news off their station anyway. Right Side Broadcasting is where we get marvelous audio, camera work for every Trump rally. I have found plenty of LIVE venues online to watch the outstanding defense team today. We are weary of these arrogant FNC panels and anchors. There are a few exceptions, of course.

When I saw Barbara Boxer on Fox, I couldn’t get to the remote fast enough. And Martha McCallum, ugh. I ended up watching the hearings on MSNBC!

I only watch these hearings on one of the C-SPAN channels. No need to look at or hear the talking heads, especially since so many are the enemy to us.

We switched to PBS to watch the presentations. FOX is (and has been) losing credibility. We often either mute, or change channels.
Let’s face, NOT THE SAME NETWORK it used to be ! Loosing their edge.

I came home early to watch some, and Philbin was so boring, a nd then Biondi started and she was flat too, seemed nervous. Terrible television, these two. C mon it's a show. The network pre emotion doesn't surprise especially during The Four idiots and Gutfield.

I immediately switched to C-SPAN. Pam Bondi did a number on the Bidens. Did not get to watch Dershowitz. But will watch later.

I was ticked off when Fox did this. I don't remember them cutting off any lying demonrat in the faux House investigation. I wanted to hear what the lawyer had to say, not some bloviating talking head spinning on a broom.

Yeah I was pretty angry because I recorded everything so I could watch it after work. The first session was pretty much ok. The second half was non existent. I really wanted to hear Dershowitz however Tucker was on most of the time and when he got to talking about Bolton they cut away again. I’m sick of Fox!!! Guess I have to watch it on YouTube.

#19,#20- For anyone who missed the impeachment proceedings on Monday, the entire video is available at C-SPAN2 (c-span.org). If wanting to see specific presentations from the day’s proceedings, that is possible and does include Alan Dershowitz. The video includes a “gold star” points of interest that permits clicking on one of the gold stars to view that particular portion of the videotape; hovering the mouse over each gold star identifies the speaker and content.

Fox has abandoned the business model that made them a success and has adopted the model of the failures. Its all about the network talking heads and the conflict, rather than about the news. It would be so much better if they had no guests at all. No matter. I have a channel selector and the internet.

An interview with Barbara Boxer is for amusement purposes only. Though it's harder now to determine the dumbest person in the Senate.

C-Span 2 for me. Hadn't watched any of it live. Had watched Starr and Purpura and realized Dershowitz was presenting live so I turned on FOX. But it wasn't long until Tucker cut away so....I cut away to C-Span 2 live. Will watch what I want, when, of Monday today on C-Span 2.
Was pleasantly surprised by Starr's presentation. Philbin belongs in the law library book stacks. There has to be SOME emotion and change of inflection.

We switched to CSpan as soon as we could. The best, and I mean the BEST, presentation was by the President's own lawyer, Eric Herschman. No one talking about that because he hit it out of the ballpark....
Wish we could get OAN on our Xfinity....
