A North Carolina animal shelter says it has received over 100 applications to adopt a mean pet, after they used some brutal honesty in an ad to adopt out what it is calling the "World's Worst Cat." The shelter says it has received so many calls and messages that it is asking people to be patient while they try to get back to everyone. Mitchell County Animal Rescue wrote on Facebook it thought Perdita "was just sick, turns out she's a jerk." Got her sister, apparently. Hates socializing, loves the food and the shelter from Utah's fierce weather. Meekly allows vets inspections, meds (she fights a lot) and is very clean. 5 years and counting.

I was in pet store looking to buy a cat. They had 3 older cats for sale. The cats all were black and white with long hair. I asked if they were from same family. No, I was told. One came from the animal shelter. One was given to them and one was trapped (feral). Come to find out, it is the law. Lord knows what kind of baggage these cats have that helped them end up there. I cringed when I witnessed a couple in their 80’s adopt 2 of these cats. Maybe they were looking for a pet that wouldn’t outlive them

Guessing it is still adoptable. If it attacked people, it would have been put down. It might be an 'only child' and will not tolerate any other pets.

I had a cat that was a jerk, but she did mellow as she got older and even tolerated a second female cat that I adopted a few years later, and a tomcat a few years after that. The two girl cats would have a snarl-fest every night at 9 p.m., but then both slept on my bed all night. The younger tomcat mourned her so much I had to get him a pet after she died. Go figure.

I'm currently staring at Pebbles the wonder cat. She's not a jerk, per se, but she does lay on my arm in the morning and walk on my pillow when she wants her breakfast. She burps, farts and snores, demands a bedtime snack every night, and mouches veggie cream cheese (her fave) when I am eating breakfast. She is spoiled rotten, but I love her like crazy. I AM a crazy cat lady!!

BTW, #1, Pebbles hates meds as well. I pulverize them with the butt of a table knife and hide them in a "Lickable bisque" treat. Works like a charm and she doesn't even know she's getting meds. We give her glucosamine chondroitin supplements every night this way.

Re. Maine Coons... We had a Maine Coon while growing up. Very lovable. An only child. A couple years later, we adopted a female cat, and it was OK with that. We then adopted another tomcat, and it became the most vicious cat we had ever seen, and we had plenty of cats. It wanted to kill the other tomcat. It started attacking us when it got the other cat's scent but could not get at it.

I'm mostly a dog person, but I've had three cats. All the kitties were great. Two would jump up on your lap and purr, while the third was a Maine Coon named Hershey because he had brown hair. Hershey was over a yard long when he would lie down and weighted in at somewhere in the 34 pound range. I didn't mind that Hershey didn't jump into my lap, but he was still the nicest cat I've ever owned. He loved to play hide and seek, and jump out and bat at you and run away.

Like week-old meat left in a hot car, the stench of defeat is starting to overpower the swag pens and stifled giggles in the Democrats' impeachment project. Axios has fresh news about how bad it is: Officials in both parties tell me that — barring surprise new information — President Trump is on a glide path to swift acquittal at his Senate impeachment trial, despite a blizzard of evidence bolstering Democrats' accusations. Why it matters: Trump has a decent chance of avoiding witnesses and of losing zero Republican votes on conviction. Think about that: When the news broke,

Communist regimes are famous for concealing inconvenient information and that appears to be the case in China with the spread of the coronavirus, a SARS-linked pneumonia-like flu that reportedly has killed 26, infected nearly a thousand, and spread to to more than a half a dozen countries beyond China, including the U.S. The Chinese have got 20 million people on lockdown in Wuhan and several cities near it, just as the Chinese New Year begins, which is the entire region's biggest holiday. It's pretty obvious the epidemic is spreading anyway. Officials, culpably or not, closed the barn door after the horse got out. According to the Associated Press:

Adam Schiff is a man of very peculiar reasoning. Like a dolt shouting louder at a foreign-language speaker to make him 'understand,' Schiff's decided that if he just keeps talking enough with his long, long, long speeches, we will all suddenly turn into anti-Trumpsters and throw Trump from office. No kidding, he spoke for two and a half hours in his House manager introduction to the Senate impeachment court, the length of which alone was deadly to his case in the age of Twitter. Seriously, two and a half hours. Imagine listening to a dog barking for two and a half hours.... This sentiment pretty well describes how well that went over:

To the extent that there are any free market capitalists left in the Democratic Party, it’s possible that they are true believers because they’ve seen the data,

The latest change follows a 2019 rollback of restrictions on milk and sodium content in school lunches.

Bernie Sanders has spent years convincing voters that his Soviet honeymoon, his support for the Nicaraguan Sandinistas, his admiration for Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez were all a misunderstanding. See, it's Denmark, Danish-style socialism he wants for America, not a second Venezuela. He was really quite reasonable in intentions all along. It was exposed as garbage the other day, when James O'Keefe released an undercover video of a top-line paid Iowa staffer, Kyle Jurek, praising gulags, re-education camps, burning cities, beaten cops, and killing anyone who resists the "revolution" as the plan all along. Republicans — including Sens.
