Former Mayor Pete Buttigieg said Thursday that he wanted the endorsement of Pope Francis over all others in the Democrat primary race.Buttigieg commented on political endorsements during a podcast interview with CEO of IMPACT Strategies Angela Rye at Claflin University.“Your most coveted endorsement in the race is who?” Rye asked.Buttigieg paused, but ultimately said, “The Pope, I want the endorsement of the Pope.”The former mayor did not choose any prominent Democrats in the country or even former President Barack Obama. Buttigieg was raised Catholic, but is now an Episcopalian.

Really? And now the Pope should endorse a unrepentant, blatant, obnoxious sinner? This Pope is a mess, but I hope even he won't go this far.

Buttigieg is asking the Pope..... and by proxy the Vatican, a sovereign state ...to meddle in our elections!!! We need to preemptively impeach Mayor Pete.

Mrs. PeteButt, the Pope isn't even an American citizen! His endorsement would carry little or no weight. If the Pope were to endorse someone, would that constitute foreign involvement in our election?

Problem is that this Pope would probably endorse a unrepentant legally married homosexual man who is pro-abortion-on-demand for the US Presidency.

Liberals hate the pope because he occasionally sticks to orthodox Catholic doctrine. Buttboy is going to alienate a lot of his base.

I guess the Catholic church should lose its tax-exempt status. They are now going to be a political arm of the democrats if this comes to pass.

Let me see if I understand this. The Marxist gay candidate wants `the endorsement of the communist Marxist Pope?

Does this dope not know that the Pope never endorses a political candidate....at least Popes before Frankie didn’t endorse candidates.
That would be it for me. It’s not bad enough we have a 3rd world communist as a pope, who advocates Open Borders and tells us to love muslims, even as he sells out the Church in China to the ChiComs. But having the pope endorse a pro-abortion homosexual would be the last straw.

Since Pope Francis is the head of the government of a foreign state, the Vatican. So if he did came out and endorsed a candidate for US President in the November election, would not such action on his part amount to him “meddling” in that upcoming election? Well you can imagine the leftist and liberal Democrat response if Pope Francis came out and stated that he is endorsing President Trump for re-election.

His goal for this year is to get 'swole'?? Looking forward to being the Grand 'Prancer' in a Pride parade are we??
Wow....in the past candidates had much loftier goals than this or if they didn't they knew enough to make one up so they would be taken seriously.
I had to look up the definition of 'swole', a word popularized in the prison system.
Yeesh.

Is Pete looking for dispensation from the Pope for sinful behavior that he crows about at every campaign stop? Even this Pope ain't that stupid.

He's just playing. He well knows that no such endorsement will be forthcoming. But there may be enough gullible Catholics among the Democrat voter base to give him an edge over Biden. Total cynicism.

If Petey went back to the Catholic Church, he might have a better shot at an endorsement.

P. Bootygig should worry more about conforming his life to the Church's founder, than getting the blessing of its current leader on earth. No earthly endorsement can supersede divine proscriptions.

The Catholic church being what it is today, I could see the Pope endorsing a married homosexual that supports abortion.

What a sanctimonious creep. The Pope´s political endorsement for a lapsed Catholic who´s now an Episcopalian, a man who confesses his sins to Father Tina. Bizarre.

Cutting through the show bizzy gobblygook and stating it simply: Pete Buttigieg is asking the head of the RCC (titular? putative?--who knows?) to bless his homosexual union and by the way shake that magic orb/cross thing in your hand and also make me POTUS.
