Mustafa al-Imam, a 47-year-old Libyan, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for his role in the Benghazi attack that killed four Americans: Mustafa al-Imam, 47, was sentenced to 236 months after being convicted by a jury in June on charges of conspiracy to provide material support and resources to terrorists and maliciously destroying and injuring a dwelling and placing lives in jeopardy, the Justice Department said. But al-Imam was not convicted of other counts, which included allegations of killing a person while attacking a federal facility.

Concur with #1 and #2. This jihadi was merely doing what his cult of mohammed inspired him to do. Barack and Hillary refused to protect CIA, US Military, contract security personnel and an American ambassador. Who are the criminals again?

19 years? He should have been tried by a Military Court and executed. We need to stop treating terrorists as criminals, they are enemy combatants, fighting us out of uniform.

It is an old rule of journalism that it is better to get it right than to get it first. But after seeing how reporters reacted Sunday to news of retired NBA star Kobe Bryant's death, you could be forgiven for thinking that such a rule no longer exists, if it ever existed at all. The former Los Angeles Laker was among nine people killed Sunday morning in a helicopter crash in Southern California. The other victims include Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna, one of her teammates on her basketball team, the teammate’s parent, and the pilot. Those are the facts. During Elizabeth Warren’s campaign stop in Iowa on Monday, a man asked the presidential hopeful whether her student-loan debt-forgiveness plan would also reimburse people who had already paid for school. “My daughter is getting out of school,” he told Warren, while standing in her (what else!) selfie line. “I’ve saved all my money.” “She doesn’t have any student loans,” he continued. “Am I going to get my money back?” Warren immediately replied: “Of course not.” The man, unsurprisingly, was not satisfied with her answer. “So you’re going to pay for people who didn’t save any money and those of us who did the right thing get screwed?” he said.

In the end the Democrats couldn’t help themselves. Their lead manager, Congressman Schiff, paused in the middle of his summation of the case against President Trump to say that CBS news reported that a “Trump confidant” claimed that “GOP senators were warned, ‘Vote against your President, vote against the President, and your head will be on a pike.’” It was a shocking error of judgment to say such a thing on the floor of the Senate. Mr. Schiff compounded his blunder by adding that he didn’t know whether the CBS report is true. “I don’t know whether that’s true,” is how he put it.

George Soros is 89 years old, but by gosh, before he dies, he’s going to see to the internal destruction of America. At least that’s how it seems. How else can we listen to his words in Davos, Switzerland, track his funding of American political races and pay attention to what he says about President Donald Trump, capitalism, and the leftist causes he backs and the leftist Open Society Foundations he runs, and come to any other conclusion? In the last few years, Soros has taken to trying to take over local law enforcement agencies by pumping massive amounts of money into candidates he favors in key district attorney races.

It’s still early and things can change fast, but several new polls show Bernie Sanders surging in Iowa and New Hampshire as well as nationally, as Warren continues to stumble, Biden continues to unimpress, and Buttigieg continues to ignore the propeller beanie hat stuck to his head. If Sanders sweeps Iowa and New Hampshire and surges in South Carolina and Nevada, he could become well nigh unstoppable. The Democratic establishment, such as it is, will move heaven and earth to stop Sanders, and given the wealth of material in Sanders’s history, you can expect the mainstream media will start running stories on “Just Who Is Bernie Sanders Anyway?”

Barack Obama called President Trump a “fascist” in a 2016 conversation with Hillary Clinton’s then-running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, a new docu-series on Clinton reveals. Obama told Kaine by phone, “Tim, remember, this is no time to be a purist. You’ve got to keep a fascist out of the White House,” Kaine says a clip included in the Hulu series, “Hillary,” NBC News reported. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., won a key endorsement Saturday when Iowa’s largest newspaper announced that it will back her for the Democratic presidential nomination, just days before the state’s caucuses. “The senior U.S. senator from Massachusetts is not the radical some perceive her to be,” the Des Moines Register’s Editorial Board said. “She was a registered Republican until 1996. She is a capitalist.” The Register’s backing is a significant boost for Warren, whom polls suggest trails Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., former Vice President Joe Biden and former South Bend, Ind. An anonymous bidder walked away with a piece of Hollywood history on wheels. The car’s name comes from the classic 1968 film “Bullitt.” In the movie, Det. Frank Bullitt, played by the iconic actor Steve McQueen, drove the Mustang as he solves a murder mystery. Described as a “Mona Lisa” car because it had long been thought of as lost to history, the Bullitt had sat hidden in a garage for four decades. After President Donald Trump's defense team presented their opening statement on Saturday, House Intelligence Committee Chairman and Impeachment Manager Adam Schiff (D-CA) took to Twitter to chide the president's legal team. After listening to the President’s lawyers opening arguments, I have three observations: They don’t contest the facts of Trump’s scheme. They’re trying to deflect, distract from, and distort the truth. And they are continuing to cover it up by blocking documents and witnesses. — Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) January 25, 2020

Democrats are pushing back at GOP backlash over a controversial line in House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s (D-Calif.) closing statement in Friday night's impeachment trial arguments. Schiff sparked an audible reaction from Republicans when he referenced a CBS News report that cited an anonymous Trump confidant saying GOP senators' heads would be “on a pike” if they opposed President Trump on impeachment. Republicans — including Sens. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Susan Collins (Maine) — quickly distanced themselves, with Collins overheard repeatedly saying "that’s not true" and Murkowski saying Schiff "overreached."
