When President Trump ordered the military to strike Qassem Soleimani, a legitimate military target responsible for the deaths of hundreds of troops, Democrats were up in arms. (Snip) They were certain that Trump had just ignited World War III. (Snip) When Trump carefully waited seven months for the right moment to strike against Soleimani, he may have knocked down the first domino, triggering a cascade of falling pieces that spells the end of the Mad Mullahs’ tyrannical and dangerously expansionist regime.

I have had a certain affection for and faith in the Iranian people since the 70's. They were the largest foreign contingency on campus. These were the sons of the privileged mind you; at that time it was under the Shah. While my country was telling me that our CIA had no clue that the Ayatollah was plotting a coup, I literally had the brochure! The students were passing out a flyer that foretold of exactly what was going to happen.
We have mistakenly believed that people from all cultures will rally to grasp individual liberty. That has proven to be highly culture dependent. As our culture is fundamentally transformed half of our country is clamoring to climb over the wall to escape to socialism. How the hell did we ever expect the fire of liberty to spread to other cultures while ours is flickering?
Yet somehow I hold out hope for the Iranian people, they have had a taste and not so long ago that the family elders don't remember, and they have had it taken away providing them with better insight into the contrast than many Americans.

FTA: "After forty years of a repressive theocracy, the Persian people, a people accustomed to beauty and life, have had their fill of Islam's cruel puritanism."
To follow on with comments in #2 and 3, who are exactly right, the Iranian people are also abandoning Islam. When the Ayatollah Khomeini came to power in 1979, the Iranian people saw the true face of Islam, and they have rejected it. Right now, there is an incredible movement going on in that ancient country, and it is being led by women, a true "women's movement". The Iranian people are abandoning Islam (the mosques are empty except for hardliners) and turning to Christianity, and coming to love the Jewish people as well. It is amazing. Christ will have His inheritance of nations!
I would encourage everyone here to go to YouTube and watch "Sheep Among Wolves - Vol II.", a film recently released by FAI Studios (Frontier Alliance International, which works with the underground church in restricted nations, among other projects) to learn what is going on in Iran. The first installment of "Sheep Among Wolves" should also be watched. Learn about FAI and its work, and watch their films (about 13 or 14 by now, I believe), which are all free on YouTube. Just type in "FAI Studios.

Isn't it amazing what a bold, precisely targeted attack can achieve. It wasn't about the power of the weapon but the will to use it and the intelligence to target it well.
The article points out something else. The Iranian people KNOW where they stand in America. They KNEW BO was weak and would never have their backs. They KNOW Trump is strong and WILL support them. Freedom was waiting for the right person and the right message. The dopey dems saw only accommodation or war. But there is a spectrum of choices for those smart enough to see and bold enough to act. BO was neither smart nor bold and instead tried to bribe the mullahs. The mullahs happily took the fools money. OUR money.

That they are killing each other is a wonderful outcome. Frequently, the fight for the new leader in one of these street gangs writ large is a bloody disaster and tremendously weakens them via actual deaths and massive mistrust bred which lasts for years.
Wonderful news.
And, excellent post, #1. Well said, and so true. I put the thought in your second to last sentence as the "No such thing as a bad boy" theory - which is truly insane, severely disconnected from reality locally and internationally. And it is why they want us all unarmed and because I know it is false is why I carry a gun every day.

And, #1 - I was bullied until the 7th grade, when I discovered the same basic thing, after a bit of coaching from my father on basic boxing skills. Bullies hate it when their nose and/or lip is bleeding in front of people, it takes all the fun right out of it. I only had a couple of significant fights after discovering that fact.

The Shah fell because he tried to Westernize Iran before it was ready - and without having eliminated his Islamic enemies. Just as God told the Jews in the Old Testament to clean house in Israel as they moved into the Promised Land, leaving one's enemies to commit mayhem simply courts disaster. Any new revolution will fail without our support but is also doomed if the mullahs aren't eliminated - and I don't mean allowed to hold court in France as was previously the case.
