Democrats know that Trump won’t be convicted in the U.S. Senate. Yet, we’ve seen them push for a fight over witnesses that could very easily extend the trial longer than necessary at a time they really don’t want to be pulling their candidates off the campaign trail. So, what’s their strategy exactly? Is it about pulling their radical and less electable senators away from early voting states and clearing the way for the supposedly more electable Joe Biden to get the advantage?
But, if the Democrats insist on a whole slate of witnesses, the possibility of Republicans calling Hunter Biden,

Read my lips. No new witnesses. They had their chance at calling them before passing their so called articles. Mitch will not allow it. I hope...

This is all speculation. Ruthie is leaving office only in the horizontal position.

A more realistic question is what if RBG dies during the trial. To be honest, I wonder if she hasn't already.

Whatever their strategy is, you can bet it is sneaky, underhanded and insidious. Its what they do. Its all they do. They know they will lose the impeachment but they dont care because that was never the goal.

Watch my lips, when did that ever go wrong, the whole "impeached for life" line is all about the next goal post move, rule of rectal extraction origin: No impeached president shall ever be allowed to appoint a supreme court justice.

This whole impeachment hoax is about CONTROL of the Senate ... and thus automatically stopping Trump if the Dems lose the House but take the Senate. There will be no appointments for at least two years if our POTUS loses the Senate.
The fight is about Martha McSally running to finish McCain's last two years, Cory Gardener in Colorado, Johnny Isakson in Mississippi, Joni Ernst in Iowa and Tom Tillis in North Carolina. All are vulnerable. And there's an open seat after Lamar resigns in Tennessee. Take 4 of just those 6 and it's all over.

Even if she was given a few weeks to live, she would not leave the court during the trial. I agree with all the posters that she will leave only when she dies.

I don't know why some people want to give so much credit to Pelosi's scheming ability.

RBG won't retire as long as Trump is POTUS. She'll only leave the Supreme Court in a box or a body bag.

There's lots of talk about senators being tied down by this fiasco - - but - - what about Chief Traitor Roberts?
He has to sit there like a department store dummy all day, every day. So how do the supremes function - - with their dear leader out of the office for weeks and weeks?

The old girl hasn't got any gas left in the tank. In the last pic I saw of her, her skin is almost falling off her bones. Ruthie, put your hate of the President aside and tell your mind and your party to take a hike. Retire while you are still upright and at 98.6 degrees.
Yes, it is all about not giving the President opportunity for another SCOTUS nomination. By extension, it is about Roe V. Wade. Going forward, cases the dims will bring to the SCOTUS include, 1) gun confiscation, 2) late-term abortion, 3) citizenship for illegals, 4) universal healthcare, 5) constraining the electoral college, 5) ownership of land, and 6) gold confiscation.
All of the dims major policy decisions are settled in the SCOTUS and they don't want the deck be stacked against them any more than it is now. The ends justifies the means. It's how dims operate. But, we will stop them.

"Kamala Harris virtually confirmed last week that impeachment is about blocking Trump from filling vacancies in the judiciary"
More dem idiot thinking. The Senate will continue confirming judges, including for SCOTUS, after impeachment. Trump has been careful to send up well qualified candidates. Sure, the dems will bray and pontificate. It hasn't mattered and won't matter.
Trump needs to win reelection and solidify the Senate and that is looking more likely all the time. Judicial appointments will continue and dems will continue to be impotent and incompetent.

President Trump's judicial appointments is his greatest accomplishment! He’s done so much; Economy, jobs, wages, trade deals with China & USMCA, immigration, pro-life, health care, & much more. He will be re-elected. We must retain the senate and retake the house. It will change the direction of our country for our children and grandchildren. G_d’s kingdom come, His will be done!

I agree. This is wishful fantasizing on the part of Democrats. Impeached or not, Trump WILL appoint a replacement. Impeached or not, Temper tantrums aside, the Senate will move forward with his or her appointment.
Understand, though. They are getting desperate. Remember JFK? He was bucking the Democrat plans too. They and their wealthy Military/Industrialist donors wanted Vietnam, at the time. JFK was refusing to go into Vietnam and was making noises he was banishing his VP Johnson from the ticket in the next election run. Johnson was the Military/Industrialist donors and politicians hope for a long war where they could test their weapons, kill off excess population and maybe declare martial law and make the Republic a matter of history.
JFK died.
Trump is only mortal. I hope and pray he has adequate, loyal, protection.

President Trump is not going to allow any democrat shenanigans to stop him from doing his job. Besides that, Mitch McConnel won't stand for it either. The democrats will just have to suck it up and have another temper tantrum/crying session!

#15....I feel pretty good about this....Trump will win easily and we get the House back and a few more senators. We have a lot more blacks and disgruntled Obama voters will be in the "R" column this election....
Can't wait to see how unhinged the lefties, antifa, etc. will be when Trump wins again....I'm going to stay locked and loaded.....

#2, actually, since Dims register dead people to vote, they would claim RBG is fit for the SCOTUS even if she were unresponsive, even dead.

I didn't know, so I looked it up. Clinton appointed Associate Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1993) and Stephen Breyer (1994). CJ Rehnquist was already on the court when Clinton took office.

Stalin used doubles. The dims probably have RBG doubles lined up. How hard is it to find a double for Norman Bates' Mother?
