JFK Opposed Trump-Style Impeachments

An unwelcome ghost haunts the U.S. Senate this week as it takes up the dubious charges against President Donald Trump: the disembodied spirit of a slain president who six decades ago spoke from a desk near the back of the Senate chamber. Massachusetts Sen. John F. Kennedy in 1957 won the Pulitzer Prize for biography for his portrait of eight of his predecessors in the World’s Greatest Deliberative Body, “Profiles In Courage” (even though speechwriter Ted Sorenson ghostwrote almost all of it), and the notoriety helped propel him to the highest office in the land several years later. JFK has been dead since I was in hs. I don’t think that applies today ...the media is pure bull. It’s pathetic how they try to throw everything back to Trump. No ghosts haunt the senate. Your article is trash..,

JFK would stand no chance in todays democrat party. Were he to stroll through the halls of the Capital Building, the "Squad" would have him pilloried as a heretic. The "Me too" movement would be on him like white on rice and he would have to do penance for his white privledge. Im pretty sure the kill the baby faction would have something to say. So......... quoting Kennedy has the net effect of just hacking off democrats. It wont change their minds.

If the mob knew Kennedy had prostitutes servicing him in OUR Whitehouse, and they did, you can bet the Russians knew. His treason during the Bay of Pigs is the result.

Impeachment was once an unthinkable act taken against a President. Republican Andrew Johnson's once-unique impeachment was by Republicans citing an unconstitutional law as the "crime". Now, the cry of "Impeachment!" is shouted everywhere for it seems every office holder with whom one does not agree. Most recently, one heard the loud, incessant cries to impeach Obama, before that Dubya, and Clinton WAS impeached...and one can go back to F.D. Roosevelt, if not beyond. Impeachment is NOT unthinkable anymore. One hopes it does not become a tool on both sides of the aisle to undo Presidential elections.

57 years ago, JFK's political beliefs, (and that of most regular Democrats) was somewhat 'to the right' of where the typical 'moderate' Republican is today.

When i was a kid, I watched on TV a dramatic presentation of Ross' decision to acquit Johnson even though it ended his political career. For some reason, that presentation has stuck in my brain ever since. But for most others, it is a chapter of American History long forgotten. And it just goes to prove that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it as the Radical Democrats of 2019 repeated the same overreach as the Radical Republicans of 1868. Except the this time the outcome won't be anywhere near as close as the first.

The democrats also went apoplectic when Rush played audio of a JFK speech proving that Reagan simply adopted the trickle down idea from JFK. JFK would be considered a moderate republican I suspect if he was still around. He actually had a few good ideas, but he blew those out of the pond by implementing the epic stupid of things like unionizing the bureaucracy. Even FDR knew you did not give government workers that kind of power, and he was right. But then democrats ignore their own history, and their own heroes as well. Why is it that white republicans are more familiar with MLK than democrats are?

The left had another apoplectic fit when President Donald Trump started talking about dishwashers at his Milwaukee rally this week. How dare he focus on something so trivial when House Democrats are busy trying to remove him from office. But Trump is on to something, and the fact that the liberal elites can’t understand what it is says more about them than it does about Trump. “Anybody have a new dishwasher?” Trump asked the audience on Tuesday. “I’m sorry for that, it’s worthless. They give you so little water. … So what happens? You end up using it 10 times

In war, you know you’re winning when your enemy is retreating. In politics, you know you’re winning when your enemy’s talking points are limp, convoluted, and nitpicking. Leading Democrats, and even Republicans who thought President Trump was too swashbuckling in his slaying of Iran’s Quds Force commander Maj. Gen. Qassam Soleimani a week and a half ago, are grasping as straws in their complaints now that it’s clear the killing of the terrorist mastermind has tamed rather than unleashed Tehran’s Islamofascist regime. The Trump Administration officials who briefed the Gang of Eight in Congress on Soleimani’s planned attacks of Americans

Joe Biden says he is 100% in favor of banning plastic bags in the U.S. At this point, it might be better to ask Biden and the rest of the Democrats running for president what they would allow Americans to have. It would likely be a short list. Biden’s position on the issue was revealed last week at an Iowa campaign stop when a woman asked him about his “focus.” “In Kenya, we are trying to clean the environment, no plastic bags, you go with your own bags,” she said. Biden’s response: “I agree with you 100%. We should not

In the immediate aftermath of Iranian missile attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq – apparently designed to save face rather than kill Americans – is it an overstatement to apply Orwell’s ultra-totalitarian slogans to the left in the free country of the United States of America today? “War is peace,” The Party in “1984” assured its servile proles, “freedom is slavery,” and “ignorance is strength.” After all, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi assured us that the people’s elected representatives could cast their votes for Obamacare while being entirely ignorant of the contents of the law. And the “Medicare for All” being pushed hard

Last week, 18 people crossed the border illegally into Arizona hoping they could exploit a loophole in U.S. asylum policy to stay in the country. Instead, they found themselves shipped back to Mexico while their asylum claims are reviewed. In the midst of impeachment mania and the killing of an Iranian general, this event captured little attention. But it’s part of a broader campaign that the Trump administration has quietly embarked upon to crack down on illegal border crossings. And – even without the wall – these policies are having a huge impact. The 18 migrants were sent back to Mexico thanks

The 2020 Democratic presidential field is in near unanimous agreement that fracking has to be banned or at least regulated to death over time. It plays well to the party’s base, especially its green fringe. It’s also an endorsement of recession. Joe Biden, currently atop the Democratic primary polls, recently said he would “love to” ban fracking “right now,” and would also “love to make sure we can’t use any oil or gas, period,” reports Common Dreams, a website that caters to leftist and socialist devotees. But the decelerated Delawarean’s plan is to “transition away from” fracking rather than killing it all at once. So put him in the “slow death”

The year 2020 looks to be a watershed for American power and prestige in the world. In the coming months, both North Korea and China will get a better idea of how far they can push the U.S., be it in different strategic venues: nuclear for Pyongyang’s Kim Jong-un, and primarily economic (for the time being) for Beijing’s Xi Jinping. In the Middle East, however, the answers regarding the nerve of the world’s lone superpower, and consequently the balance of power between Islamic forces, appear to be just around the corner. Will President Trump allow Iran to gain a permanent

Global warming protests, past the point of absurdity long ago, have become even more extreme thanks to a relatively new group from England. The founder’s background shows exactly why the organization has chosen to engage in the mindless behavior it’s become known for. Though she has a doctorate in molecular biophysics, Extinction Rebellion architect Gail Bradbrook, called a “neo-pagan” by Britain’s Daily Mail, intentionally went down a path filled with folklore, superstition, tribal rites, and primitive hallucinogenics. She’s a “lifelong activist,” reports CNN, who has “spent decades working on an array of social justice campaigns,” though few ever lead to real change. So, “in order to bring about real, radical change

Why would House Democrats put forward articles of impeachment that are laughably weak and have no chance of removing President Donald Trump from office? Most of the speculation has been that the impeachment will nevertheless hurt Trump’s reelection chances. There’s another possibility that’s even more insidious. Democratic Party leaders can’t possibly be unaware of the fact that their impeachment case has no merit. Despite the endless talk of bribery, extortion, campaign finance violations and other supposed crimes Trump has committed, not one of the articles of impeachment accuses Trump of breaking any of those laws, or any federal law for that matter.

Top-tier Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, who’s got a good chance of securing the nomination, now finds herself stuck in a pretty embarrassing one. Illinois lawmakers are raising questions about the integrity of state elections after the secretary of state admitted hundreds of non-citizens were registered as voters, and could have cast ballots illegally in the 2018 election.
