I love just about all Clint Eastwood movies, but Richard Jewell is in a class by itself. This one was personal. This one Clint Eastwood made for me. Only a handful of people in America know what it’s like to be Richard Jewell and unfortunately, I’m one of them. Mr. Eastwood got it right. Two thumbs up!
I rarely ever go to the movies. Nearly seven years after my acquittal in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, I still have to be very cautious about where I go. A few years ago, a man took a shot at me and missed my head by inches. He will be in prison

I haven’t understood what motivated the media and police to treat Mr. Jewell so shabbily as they did. Maybe if I watch this movie by Clint, I’ll know more. I have a hard time stomaching character assassinations such as done to the likes of others; Zimmerman (“white hispanic”), Kavanaugh, Trump, Thomas, and Bork. Libs are scum-of-the-earth!

I hope that one day Clint Eastwood or someone like him makes a movie about this whole impeachment fiasco. Like the Richard Jewell story, it needs to be told. One thing that I loathe is unfairness and to watch the media and FBI be judge, jury and executioner in one fell swoop, it is terribly disturbing and extremely dangerous. The media has too much power and they are using it like a cudgel. It is clear they have an agenda and will massage any story to make it fit their narrative. They are ideologues and do not even try and hide it. To use their power and influence to bring down a sitting President is abhorrent. They are drunk on their own power and believe themselves to be invincible. They bury what they do not want known and go after with a vengeance anything that threatens their dogma be it climate change, impeachment, Epstein, immigration, etc. Many in the media in this country are as corrupt as our politicians, not all are but enough to change the course of justice and that should frighten us all. They have enjoyed a privilege that they have abused and it is time to hold them accountable. Be careful who your sources are when getting your information. Reject their lies and propaganda. They will not police themselves. We must do that by ignoring them, turning them off, and finding reputable sources for the news we consume. Go around them. Seek out the truth. I pray that eyes are being opened by movies like this one and the absolute railroading of this President by the democrats and the Fake News.

The despicable Little 0bie never passed up an opportunity to pour gasoline on a racial spark. He was - - and is - - a vile racist to the core.
And God bless George Zimmerman - - for his unselfish and heroic efforts to protect his neighbors - - and by extension all the rest of us.
Now - - here is the question which I've never seen asked - - and certainly never answered. How many burglaries were there in that Florida community in the year before St. Trayvon was martyred - - and how many were there in the year after? I'd bet every penny I could latch onto that the answer to the second half of that question is - - ZERO!

It is still the case that local District Attorneys push the police for a conviction. Any conviction! Neither guilt nor innocence matters when a public shooting happens. By trying to quickly get the media off their backs, the DA's want action. If that weren't bad enough, the PD talks to the media to spin the story. Mr. Zimmerman was punished for ''standing in the gap.'' May he stay safe.

George was not a hero in any sense and it’s amazing that this was even written and published. Had to recheck that this was from American Thinker and not The Onion. A famous line from one of Clint Eastwood’s movies is “A man’s got to know his limitations” (Harry Callahan). That George, or anyone else, still views his actions as heroic is mind boggling. Should anyone question or wonder about the myriad of options that are available re: burglary/stalking in progress that will avoid danger or death, I’ll briefly describe my own experience at Ft. Bragg, NC (2006): 1st call to MP’s, suspicious character in my back yard. Tracked him w/o him noticing, 2nd call to MP’s, burglary in progress. After no response from lazy LEO’s after 2 calls, reported “man with a gun, possible shooting” (a total bluff, I didn’t have a gun but needed to rattle the MP’s). Stayed on the line, gave LEO precise location, six cars responded and they were all high-fiving after catching him in the act of making a pile of stolen items from the neighborhood. The main point of the third call was true: the dangerous person at this incident would be me if they didn’t get out here and grab the thieving punk. Guys like George aren’t made for these situations and had he known his limitations, a young man would still be alive and the nation could have been spared unnecessary grief.

I see George Zimmerman as a but of a wannabee cop who got himself in way over his head by engaging a young but seasoned street thug. Li'l Trevon was indeed a thug and sometimes thugs suffer disproportionate consequences for their actions because they, the thug, place others in a situation charged with fear the likes of which we aren't all experienced with or trained to handle. There aren't enough police around to protect every thug from consequences of their actions placing the public at large at risk.
The editing of the tape that NBC did should have landed at least one person in jail to suffer the exact sentence that a tainted jury pool could have imposed on Zimmerman.

I haven't seen the film yet, but, will do so. What the msm's court of public opinion did to George Zimmerman was evil and un-American. Thanks to Obie and Holdie who gladly fanned the racial flames. And this fake news brought us black lives matter.
Mr. Zimmerman, may you be successful in your lawsuit recently filed against the Martin family and their fraudulent prosecutors who ruined your life.

Sorry 10 & 11 we do not have enough retired Navy Seals to do neighborhood watch. Zimmerman was only following Martin and calling it in. Then got blindsided. No, he is not necessarily a hero. He was just a homeowner keeping an eye on his neighborhood and ended up in a struggle to save his own life.

I never understood how the media pulled this off, demonizing George Zimmerman and destroying much of his life. You can criticize his actions, but only if you have been in the same situation he faced. It was always crystal clear to me, that if he had not struggled and prevailed, he would have ended up in the morgue with a busted skull. Not that Trayvon deserves no sympathy, he didn't stand much of a chance in life with the multitude of ways that his parents and social circle failed him. We watched "The Trayvon Hoax" over the weekend, it is astounding what was done to incriminate and convict George Zimmerman. Moving article George.

As I recall, this Atlanta bombing was one of the FBI's biggest failures as well. When they get it right, they are superb as an agency. But they haven't been superb in decades now. The FBI took the easy and lazy way out, and IIRC, wasn't Robert Mueller involved in this case in his salad days?

BS to #10. Hindsight is always 20/20 and you can say that now because Trayvon Martin is the only person that lost his life. You have no idea what his intentions were nor does anyone else. We all know there are burglaries that go wrong and someone gets hurt or murdered. You have no idea if he was going to burglarize someone and it could go very wrong. You are not God. So to debunk your kind of mentality, George Zimmerman is a hero. I don't know what your definition of hero is but I know what mine is. A hero is a person that puts himself/herself in a risky situation not knowing if they will live or die. Your assessment is twisted.

#2, Richard Jewell was stereotyped as an overweight, not too bright, wannabe cop and gun and religious nut who lived with his mother and was, in their view, shunned by the opposite sex. He was the 90s version of a deplorable. Never mind that most of that was untrue. Jewell has a girlfriend and was living with his mother only because it was close to his job in Atlanta. He was exactly the type of white, right wing terrorist the left is always hoping for today. Ironic that the movie has been deep-sixed for some of the same reasons Jewell was targeted.

#5 is worthy of several thousand (maybe millions) of likes. The media cares only for facts that support the narrative they want to push. Facts that show their narrative in a negative light are very conveniently left out of the report. They claim they are trustworthy and they bleat about being called fake news but their actions do not match their words. They ARE fake and highly untrustworthy
In summation they are vile, abhorrent, reprehensible and repugnant. And these are some of their better qualities.

The movie is incredible. I hate to put money in the pockets of Hollywood leftists but I wanted to support Clint (and Richard) on this one, but I took a neighbor and went to a matinee. The movie version makes Richard very unlikeable. What a great lesson - that when the media or the government makes a jerk or a deplorable out of someone, it is very easy to ridicule or demonize that person (think Sarah Palin and Donald Trump).
I have since looked up interviews of Richard Jewell. He wasn't even the nerdy jerk he was made out to be. He was a sweet, naively kind soul. He hadn't lost his child-like desire to help others - that was always his sole motivation.

Zimmerman wasn't trying to be a hero. He was only following the suspicious guy. Trayvon jumped him and was slamming his head into the ground. Zimmerman only shot to save his own life. Regardless, the media not only destroyed his character, they were complicit in witness fraud used against him. Rachel Jeantel was not Trayvon's girlfriend and wasn't on the phone with him. She was just a shill. They tried to claim she was Diamond Eugene, who was a completely different girl.

It was very clear from the early weeks, especially if you had started reading The Conservative Treehouse, like I had just started, that Trayvon was a vicious thug and Zimmerman was the victim in this mess. IMO, CTH covered itself in glory with it's WONDERFUL investigative reporting on this event. IMO, it put them on the map.
I am so glad that Mr. Zimmerman was able to get free from the clutches of those evil people, including that hideous Angela Corey. It seems clear that she abused her prosecutorial power. What an evil, despicable woman!
I know someone who knows Zimmerman, and I hope that one day I might get to tell Mr. Zimmerman that a lot of us were pulling for him, and believed his story the whole time.
Best wishes, sir, and I hope you can put this farther behind you every day.

This excellent movie revealed how unprofessional the FBI can be. I used to view them as the seal team...the best of the best...not anymore. I would probably trust my local sheriff much more now.
There is always a push to quickly solve a case when the public is fearful and the media is putting a microphone in the face of law enforcement, but that is no excuse to crucify the first person they run across.
They used profiling as if it were hard evidence. They ignored hard evidence that disproved their case when they got too far down the road to turn back. It was shameful! (the fact that the woman reporter was sleazy and had no moral compass was no surprise)

People forget that the police initially cleared Zimmerman. He was only charged after media hysteria and after the President weighed in on this purely local incident. The jury agreed with the initial police conclusion.

I didn’t think I would like the movie, but it was well done & never boring. It reminded me of the way the media & government have treated Trump for almost 4 years. Hopefully Clint will do a movie about the misdeeds of the media & government agencies against Trump.
