Monica Lewinsky weighs in on
Trump’s impeachment defense team

Monica Lewinsky responded with some choice words Friday to the news that Ken Starr will join President Trump’s impeachment defense team — tweeting, “Are you f—king kidding me?”The famously scandal-scarred former White House intern — whose affair with President Bill Clinton was exposed by Starr, leading to Clinton’s impeachment in 1998 — appeared to be flabbergasted. (Snip) In the 1990s, Starr investigated Clinton and wrote a report that ultimately led to his impeachment in the House, not to mention revealed the married then-president’s affair with his intern.

Imagine being a 40 something woman who has had no lasting relationship with any man or probably even many dates because every man who meets her sees and thinks only one thing. If she had any brains at all she would have changed her name, altered her appearance and gone off to live a normal life. She is self-destructive.

What a waste of a life - the world has moved on, but Monica can't let go of being Ken Starr's "victim." From all appearances, she has no recognition of how her behavior contributed to her "plight." It all started when she snapped her thong underwear at a married man who had no self-control. But for that action, she might have had a more fulfilling life and career.

ms. o’neill is badly mistaken in saying “... affair with President Bill Clinton was exposed by Starr, leading to Clinton’s impeachment in 1998...” BJ klintoon was impeached for perjury, obstruction of justice, witness-tampering. It’s quite telling that not a single dim-o-k-rat vote guilty on any article when there was air-tight evidence that klintoon was guilty of all charges. So much for the integrity of dim-o-k-rats then. And the dim-o-k-rats still evidence that same level of integrity to this very day!

We profane tweet indicates two things to me. One, she is still pretty stupid about the law, the liars inside the beltway and the twisted evil that is the media. Two, in spite of all the years, she hasn't learned anything about who committed crimes during the sordid 'affair' or the meaning of avuncular. Encapsulating this sentiment on NBC's Meet the Press, Hugh Hewitt insisted that there are no credible grounds for impeachment. The liberal mantra was quite different: Trump abused his office in an effort to damage his presumptive 2020 election challenger. When I was in eighth grade, a teacher announced we were going to study capital punishment. The methodology for this process was that the class was divided randomly in half, and each side was assigned the task of writing an essay: one half pro, one half con. After we had completed our essays, the students engaged in open debate about this complex issue. Perhaps this sort of objective process of critical thinking is still practiced in some American schools, but it surely seems scarce. In its place, secular liberalism, and "progressivism," have become the Church of the American State, administered through public schools.

If the Trump era has taught us anything, it's that large numbers of white people in the United States are motivated at least in part by racism in the voting booth. Donald Trump ran an openly racist campaign for president, calling Mexicans rapists and criminals, regularly retweeting white supremacists and at least initially balking at repudiating former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. Trump made it clear in his campaign that "Make America Great Again" meant that America was greater when white people's power was more sweeping and more secure. White voters approved of that message by a whopping 58 percent to 37 percent.

This is some news that should absolutely terrify Democrats. They know they need Wisconsin and other rust belt states to beat Trump in 2020 but the crowd at Trump’s recent rally there proves winning the state is going to be extremely difficult for them. More than half of the people at Trump’s rally were not even Republicans. Red State reports: Mind-Blowing! 58% Of Attendees at Trump’s Wisconsin Rally Were NOT Republicans, Up from 43% in Ohio Several days ago, Trump’s campaign manager Brad Parscale posted statistics from last week’s rally held in Toledo, OH, which showed that 43% of attendees identified as either Democratic or Independent. I called that figure “stunning” in a recent post.

Sherrilyn Ifill was returning to Baltimore from New York on Amtrak train 80 Friday, as she does at the end of many working weeks, when she says a junior conductor approached and asked her to give up her seat. To say that the internationally known civil rights attorney, scholar and activist bristled would be an understatement. “When I was laying her out to the [lead] conductor, at one point, I said, ‘I can sit where I want,’ and I thought, ‘This isn’t 1950,’ ” the Baltimore resident, who is African American, wrote in her Twitter feed Friday night. House Democrat leaders pursuing the removal of President Donald Trump from office appear reluctant to let go of their investigation after voting to impeach him last month, even after Speaker Nancy Pelosi transmitted the articles of impeachment to the Senate this week. “Plainly, there are loose ends here that the House should have tied up and that, importantly, the House is continuing to investigate,” former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Andrew McCarthy wrote in an editorial Wednesday, the day House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) finally handed over the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

President Donald Trump made a stark appeal to black Americans during the 2016 election when he asked, “What have you got to lose?” Three years later, black Americans have rendered their verdict on his presidency with a deeply pessimistic assessment of their place in the United States under a leader seen by an overwhelming majority as racist. The findings come from a Washington Post-Ipsos poll of African Americans nationwide, which reveals fears about whether their children will have a fair shot to succeed and a belief that white Americans don’t fully appreciate the discrimination that black people experience.
