Washington- President Donald Trump is adding three seasoned lawyers to his impeachment legal defense team, people familiar with the matter said, including Kenneth Starr, the hard-charging prosecutor whose work led to President Bill Clinton's impeachment.
Alan Dershowitz, the constitutional lawyer, and Robert Ray, Starr's successor at the Office of Independent Counsel during the Clinton administration, are also joining the team, the people said.
The three are expected to join a legal team headed by White House counsel Pat Cipollone and outside attorney Jay Sekulow, who are still expected to deliver statements on the President's behalf on the Senate floor.

Wouldn't you know it - - earlybird posted this story a few minutes before I did!
But I inserted a warning against clicking on the link - - unless you have a superstrong stomach. The first thing you see is a nauseating photo. I hope you were able to handle it.

I question the quote by Monica Lewinsky. I believe she made a error in word order.

These no nonsense constitutional experts should blow up the Schiff show with little trouble.

So, in other words, a seasoned, professional bi-partisan group.
And, with Johnathan Turley commenting about how horrible the Democrats proceeded in the House, is not very good for their credibility.

I'm not particularly fond of Dershowitz or his politics, but I do acknowledge that he knows the Constitution, and when it is being abused.

If I were ever charged with anything and I mean anything, I would want Alan Dershowitz defending me.
Watch Reversal of Fortune to see him work.

Great addition to his team. I would like to see Mark Levin added as a consulting advisor. The uneasy feeling I’m getting is that it only would take a few Rino Senators and we know who they are to flip with the democrats and vote to convict and remove Trump from office. If that happens there would be rioting in the streets and all hell would break loose. God save us.

#10, you are aware that it takes a 2/3 majority to remove the President in a trial? That means 67 Senators. Even if three or four flipped the most the Dems can muster is about 52 or 53. They are at least 14 Senators short and I don't think that this gulf is going to be bridged by any amount of Schiffer-lying or Schumering down your leg.

I can't imagine caring what Monica Lewinsky thinks, says, or does. I'm so over her professional "victimhood." She was old enough to know that playing around with a married man was wrong, and lying about it was also wrong. Any normal person would have disappeared and gotten a life long ago, yet here she is, right on cue, making sure everyone knows Ken Starr was mean to her, as if she was some innocent naif who got swept up and sent to the gulag.

DVC thanks eh bruh for the hopeful arithmetic. However, there is a chance albeit small that dems can pull off the conviction. I can't put anything past them.

Monica Lewinsky should be thanking Ken Starr for not pulling the trigger on her. He could have had her arrested and charged with perjury.

#15 Me too. I think it's a big mistake to agree to a "trial". End the no crime "trial" immediately. Republicans won't of course. I just have a dread feeling over this bull dookie.

No, they'll never be able to remove Trump from office, but I don't think that was ever the goal. The goal was to destroy him, so he can't be reelected. That, very possibly, could happen and it doesn't need a 2/3 majority of anything. It can be accomplished by creating an endless Kavenaughesque circus, which is about to begin right now---and won't end until NOV.
Dershowitz, Starr and whoever else can argue Constitutionality all they want but it will be for naught. The Demos absolutely, positively KNOW they'll never remove Trump from office now. They're willing to trade a loss in a Senate trial for destroying Trump and everyone connected to him.
And...think about this: WHO'S toooooo quiet right now? Hmmm? Not a word from PIAPS. I wonder why.

I don't care who is on what team. I only care about GOING ON THE OFFENSE. Stop playing defense and ignore any agenda the rats have. Start by destroying the coup and that means arresting and prosecuting high rats for obvious, admitted crimes. I want Biden crying, I want Hunter Biden in jail with his dad. I want Hillary arrested for multiple crimes, from money laundering to blackmail, to treason and maybe murder or conspiracy to murder. Same for Pelosi, Schiff, Comey, etc. and throw Romney in there as well. Truly drain the swamp by destroying it and every parasite in it. Scoop Soros and all the other puppet masters while you are at it. Start flipping people and blow it up!

Pelosi is going to lose big time. Will she have courage to resign her post, just retire or die?
