A Minnesota woman recognised as a "teacher of the year" knelt during the US national anthem at a college football championship game attended by Donald Trump in a protest inspired by black athletes that is known to infuriate him. During the 2020 championship game in New Orleans between LSU and Clemson University, Kelly Holstine knelt on the field in front of the president and Melania Trump to support "marginalised and oppressed people". this would be something I'd prefer to just ignore.. but when you consider that this creature is the friggin TEACHER OF THE YEAR.... a singular achievement ... would be the ultimate point of your professional life.... instead this twit has succeeded in rendering it to a heap of still warm cow dung.... not even worth the time required to remove it from your work boots....

Teacher of the Year, who's OK with anal sex, same-sex marriage, transgender, gender-neutral, killing babies, hating cops, and against almost everything that made America great. With the grace of America and its' citizens, she can do what pleases her. Not with other countries, in fact, she should leave and try the same stunt in China or Russia.

If I'm singing the National Anthem and someone kneels in "protest," I stop singing immediately and say the following: "Will the self-absorbed troglodyte who is kneeling please either rise to their feet for the duration of the Anthem or remove themselves from the field. This game is for the two teams who have earned their way here, NOT for your ill-timed ignorant protests!! Thank you!" Then remain silent until the person either leaves or is booed and shamed into standing.

Johannesburg—The United Nations World Food Programme said on Thursday that a record 45 million people in the 16-nation Southern African Development Community faced growing hunger following repeated drought, widespread flooding and economic disarray. Southern Africa is in the grips of a severe drought, as climate change wreaks havoc in impoverished countries already struggling to cope with extreme natural disasters, such as Cyclone Idai which devastated Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi in 2019. Zimbabwe, once the breadbasket of southern Africa, is experiencing its worst economic crisis in a decade, marked by soaring inflation and shortages of food, fuel, medicines and electricity.

Travelers on the Mexico City subway system often blame authorities for broken-down escalators at subway stops, but Metro officials have another explanation: vast amounts of pee. Somehow, urine is penetrating and corroding the drive wheels and mechanisms of the escalators that carry riders up from underground stations. In a list published on Tuesday, the Metro system listed “corrosion due to urine” as one of the top five causes of escalator breakdowns. Fermín Ramírez, the system’s assistant manager for rails and facilities, said riders appear to be urinating on escalators at off-peak hours and lightly used stations, “even though it seems hard to believe”.

A federal judge ordered a halt Wednesday to the Trump administration’s plan to give states and localities a veto over refugees being sent into their territory, saying the law doesn’t allow them a say. The crisis that has engulfed the royal family, sparked by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell announcement that they are jumping ship, is about far more than just their personal future. But this announcement and the extraordinary Sandringham summit convened by the Queen was about something much more fundamental. The subject of discussion was what the monarchy does, who it is for and how much longer it will continue in its current form after the Queen’s reign. And, indeed, whether it should survive at all.
