In an early morning raid, sheriff's deputies evicted a group of mothers illegally occupying a vacant house in Oakland. Multiple videos posted by news organizations online show the mothers being pulled out of the house and put in handcuffs by deputies just before 6 a.m. Protesters stood outside chanting "shame on you" at the deputies. Alameda County sheriff's deputies arrested two women and a man during the eviction, a sheriff's spokesman confirmed. KQED News reported the three arrested were mothers Tolani King and Misty Cross and activist Jesse Turner, all of whom are being charged with obstructing a police officer in the course of their duties.

When the majority of a population figures out that they can vote for a living rather than work for a living, your society is doomed!!!!! I'm pretty confident that these mom's and activists are all Demon-Rat voters, because it's a lot easier than working for a living!!!

The solution is obvious: Have the squatters move in with the idiots who were protesting the eviction. If they care so much about this issue they should be glad to have two room mates. Better yet, find out where Amy Graff (the writer of this article) lives and move them in with her. She's probably wealthy and has plenty of room. We can see how she likes having squatters on her property.

I'm surprised they were forcibly evicted because I've read articles about property owners spending years and big bucks to evict squatters. Am I wrong to wonder if the goobermint will act on behalf corporations but not individuals?

The White House announced Tuesday that President Trump is granting a full pardon to former San Francisco 49ers owner Edward DeBartolo Jr., who was convicted of failing to report a bribe to the former governor of Louisiana when he pleaded guilty in 1998. NFL greats including Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Charles Haley, and Jim Brown were on hand at the White House, expressing their support for DeBartolo, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016. "I take my hat off to Donald Trump for what he did," Rice said, crediting DeBartolo for his former team's success in the 1980s and 90s.

If the case against President Trump’s alleged abuses were “open and shut,” Daniel McCarthy wonders at Spectator USA, then why don’t “Democrats and the pundits . . . trust voters to be persuaded by this purportedly airtight case” and boot him from office come November? The answer: “The people hoping for the Senate to remove Trump are Democrats, but they aren’t democrats, and they think the American voting public already made the wrong choice in 2016.”

I do wish we would take them a smidgen less seriously when they turn out to be wrong — as they always do. I was slightly surprised when Greta Thunberg announced at Davos that we had eight years left to save the planet. As long as that? Admittedly, that’s four years less than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who put it at 12, although, come to think of it, that was last January, so presumably she now thinks we’ve got 11 years left. But some doomsayers have been much less optimistic.

Long Island’s largest LGBT nonprofit is being scrutinized by the state over the way it handles the millions of taxpayer dollars it receives each year, The Post has learned. A series of questionable bookkeeping moves by the LGBT Network of Long Island — which oversees LI’s Pride Parade and is headed by prominent gay activist David Kilmnick and hubby Robert Vitelli — prompted reviews by the state Department of Health and Office of the State Comptroller, according to the agencies and documents obtained by The Post.

A new video posted on Sunday shows former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg explaining how healthcare will “bankrupt us,” unless we deny care to the elderly. Mike Bloomberg: All of these costs keep going up. Nobody wants to pay anymore money. And at the rate we’re going healthcare is going to bankrupt us. So not only do we have a problem we’ve got to sit here and say which things we’re going to do and which things we’re not. Nobody wants to do that. A bill that would make Washington, D.C., the 51st U.S. state was approved by a Democratic-led House committee last week, setting the stage for a vote by the full chamber in the near future. If it passes, as expected, it will be the first time the campaign to bestow statehood on the nation’s capital has been endorsed by one of the chambers of Congress. Republicans in the Senate are expected to swiftly reject the bill, however, continuing a legacy of partisan sparring over the District of Columbia that has been going on for more than two centuries.
