Bernie Sanders isn't a joke — he's dangerous

Pundits wrote off Sen. Bernie Sanders’s campaign back in October after his heart attack evoked the risks of nominating a candidate who would turn 80 during the first year of his presidency.
But since then, Sanders has made a remarkable comeback — and not just in terms of his health. Having climbed to second place nationally and raised a whopping $34.5 million in the fourth quarter, he now finds himself leading in New Hampshire and tied for first place in Iowa, according to the latest CBS/YouGov poll.
Perhaps Joe Biden, who enjoys much stronger support among black voters, is still in a better position to win the Democratic nomination.

The popularity shuffle will occur a dozen times between now and the dim primary as crazed democrats attempt to choose the lesser of evils - or maybe it's the most evil they want? Hard to tell with crazy people.

Socialist is a euphemism for Communist. Bernie is a dyed in the wool Communist.

A friend of mine thought Bernie was the best thing in the world and was singing his praises and then I asked her how we were going to pay for all of his programs. She had no answer.

Despite his age, Gramps is very dangerous. He and his team continue to brainwash our millennials to the communist utopia. much in the same way that Adolf Hitler did in the 1930s in Germany and Austria. And we all know how that turned out.

A dalliance with socialism is equivalent to juggling vials of nitroglycerin on a high wire over a shark tank wearing Lady Gaga's steak dress.
According to Karl Marx socialism is a coercive stage in the transition to state ownership of the means of production and communism is achieved after people realize how much better government runs things and then no longer require coercion. It is expected that to embark on that path there will be resistance requiring the use of force. This is what comrade Bernie represents not fluffy bunnies rainbows and unicorns. History has confirmed part of what Marx expected but never has the voluntary transition to communism ever taken place.
Oddly there seems to be a commonly believed distinction that somehow communism is the more brutal extreme form or that socialism is communism light. That's pure unadulterated bullstuff designed to trick people into believing that you can dip your big toe in the water before deciding to dive in.

I do think we will have a socialist president in my lifetime. The youth are brainwashed that capitalism is evil. Most have known no struggles in their life as mom and dad have protected them from any problems. They don't understand that free programs makes for lazy citizens.
I fear for what comes after President Trump finishes his second term.

For the life of me, I can't understand how anyone can support a billionaire who screams that everyone (but said billionaire) should give up all their money. How do Bernieites reconcile such hypocrisy?

I think it is possible to be both to be honest. The real threat to Bernie would be if Howard Schultz finally started campaigning again. For he has the youth, the social agenda and is minus all the bad stuff that makes Bernie Bernie. The youth would drop Bernie in a hot second if Schultz would join the race as a third party. The DNC knows this too.
Comrade Bernie is perfect for him.

Bernie has a little baggage... the Soviet honeymoon doesn't help, nor his accumulated millions, nor his wife's apparent corrupt incompetency, never mind the utter infeasibility of his agenda.

Of course he's dangerous but the DNC put the screws to him last time around and (as sure as the sun rises in the east) they'll do it all over again if they feel they'll lose. But what will they offer in his stead? The PIAPS reborn? Probably not. And not Bloomberg, though he might be dangerous. We will wait and watch.

Thanks for the “heads up” but I have no plans to take Bernie seriously. The issues raised here of age (old), health (poor), race (white), ideology (ultra-left), corruption (robust), and fiscal imprudence (rife) have little to do with my summary dismissal of Sanders as a presidential candidate to be taken seriously. He has no path to victory in the electoral college. If everything broke his way, Bernie would win CA (55), NY (29), IL (20), NJ (14), VA (13), WA (12), MA (11), MD (10), MN (10), CO (9), CT (7), OR (7), HI (4), NH (4), RI (4), DE (3), D.C. (3), and VT (3). Against Trump, that adds up to a 330-218 pasting in the Electoral College even if Bernie wins California by 20,000,000 votes. For all his weird inexplicable appeal to the American hard left, the Presidential election is lost to Bernie before it even begins. He takes the swing out of the swing states.

The only difference between Socialism and Communism, is the Communists have guns. At 75 yo, I am stunned by the ignorance of the millennials. Money for Nothing?

Bernie is a joke. All the greedy, power-hungry, former mayor billionaire has to do is offer the greedy socialist a bunch of money, and he'll cut and run just like he did the last time.

Bernie is one mammoth embarrassment for this country; and the fact he's still living on the dole --- well, government employment --- apparently doesn't bother the millions of nitwits who support him. That says more about the dire state of the culture and the voting population than anything else. The 1960's retreads who infected the academy with their Marxism and indoctrinated a generation and a half of mushy skulls have won. If anybody cares about that, it will take the same amount of time or more, to return the educational system to a semblance of normalcy and truth.
That said, the greatest menace in this election cycle is the fact that Sanders -- win or lose -- has groomed AOC to succeed him. If you are not paying attention, you will be paying a terrible price in short order: the Left never stays still. They are a perennial destructive apparatus, regardless the rallies and the MAGA hats.

Looks like Comrade Bernie is the candidate for the far left. Hate America? Hate freedom? Hate prosperity? Vote Comrade Bernie. Yes, Bernie Sanders is dangerous. So are all the lefty true believers. They will take your freedom. They will take your wealth. If you complain, they will take your life. Don't believe it? How many Russians have died at the hands of their own government since the Russian Revolution? How many Chinese have died in their 'cultural' revolution. Look at Venezuela. Look at North Korea. Look at Cuba.

No, the scary part is how many would vote for this old commie. Worse yet, is who he would pick as a running mate just for numbers. Bad heart..slipping on a banana peel and VP becomes Prez.
