House impeachers can hide

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is upset. She let her caucus impeach President Trump on dubious charges with a narrow partisan majority and without taking the time to gather evidence that she now believes must be heard in a Senate trial as it might convince a skeptical public. And now, huge surprise, the Republican Senate appears poised to send the resulting impeachment articles straight to the circular file. As of Friday, Pelosi was still withholding the articles of impeachment from the Senate. She is making demands that the Senate trial be run in a particular way, even though the California Democrat is not a senator

As of January 2021, they can be thrown in the circular file. Once a new house is sworn in, they would have to have another trial, etc.

"under withering fire from the extreme Left, she ultimately acquiesced" Yes, NOT a leader. The same dynamic defines the whole party. The Left used to be the dems tool. Now the Left owns the dem party. "If Democrats felt they had a serious case for impeachment " The problem for the dems is, there is NO case for impeachment, PERIOD. Trump, for all his uniqueness, is coloring well within the lines of presidential power. He is just using it more boldly in the service of Conservative causes than Republicans have dared to. That bold confrontational skill is shocking to the dems who have never faced a president willing to fully face off with them since Lincoln (yes, it was dems that opposed Lincoln), another bold Republican, proved his willingness to fight a civil war to stand up for what he felt was right. Trump has also stepped beyond the bounds of politics and confronted our cancerous media and Leftist cultural icons. He has taken no presidential, government actions against them; merely stood in their face and truly defined them as fake and foolish. "they went and impeached him without a case" Yes, and played into Trump's hands, fulfilling everything that Trump has said about them. Without a factual basis to act, they tried to hound him from office with a PR campaign. They forgot that Trump "owns" the media and has neutered them. The idiocy of the House dems was in plain view. They could vote as they wanted to and did but they can't wash off the LOSER stamped on their foreheads. "Having hastily impeached without gathering the requisite evidence and testimony that they are now demanding after-the-fact, Democrats are left with no good choices." Pelousy is upset that, having collected the impeachment vote with her pooper scooper and thrown it over the fence into the Senate's yard (kind of maybe), her neighbor is appropriately consigning the offensively flung fecal matter into the garbage as it deserves. BTW, isn't it monkeys that throw their poop?

Like Graham and Turtle have both said, the House had their shot, now their role is done. She will not be happy until Turtle lets her sit at the table and have more say. She is what happens when arrogance and bone deep corruption are allowed to run unfettered in congress. Now that she has wound down and can think, she knows she painted herself and her party into a terrible position in an election year. Poor baby. NOT.

I used to think that Zippy was the biggest narccicist (sp?)in Washington, but I believe old Nasty Nan has him beat. Dems always think that whatever branch of government they control is the branch in charge. They are losing the courts and the house is not rolling over, so they're basically up a famous creek w/o a paddle!

Can I just ask here, when are we going to get it together and call Ms. Queen-Bee-itch on her falsies? She, I believe, has accused our America-loving President of wanting to be king. But here she is demanding her way in a house of congress she does not lead or control (the Senate). When will we on the right side of history and freedom begin to actually call the left on their projection? Anybody else but me remember when Hillary asked PDT, during the "debates", whether he would fight the people's decision if he lost? And look at what this Queen-Bee-itch has drug our country through for the past three years--A Giant Temper Tantrum because SHE lost! They said PDT should be removed because of collusion--which Felonious Pantsuit actually did! They wanted him removed from office using the 25th amendment, sighting he was looney--but they're actually running a looney tune (Biden) who also colluded with another country (Ukraine) in 2016. Come on! This whole Washington DC group of slimes should be called on their "red carpet", including Hollywood, for the hypocrisy and projection they throw at our PDT everyday! I'm itching to vote in 2020! My problem is that in CA, my vote will be overvoted by 16 foreigners with no legal right to vote. I can't wait to leave this state!!! MAGA!!! KAG!!! Thanks for letting me vent! PDT 2020 and beyond!!!

HONOLULU — Astronomers kicked off 2020 by welcoming the 30th anniversary year of NASA's venerable Hubble Space Telescope here at their largest annual gathering. During the first full day of the 235th American Astronomical Society conference (Jan. 5), a team of scientists affiliated with the instrument shared their highlights from the mission. Over the course of its decade in flight, the Hubble Space Telescope has produced not just scientific results, but also a host of iconic images of the universe around us. "We flooded the world with jaw-dropping pictures, month after month and year after year," Ray Villard, a long-time public affairs officer working on Hubble

At the root of our climate problem, writes Pope Francis in his ecological encyclical Laudato Si, lies our human pride and arrogance: “The misuse of creation begins when we no longer recognize any higher instance than ourselves, when we see nothing else but ourselves.” (Snip)When we were still living as hunter-gatherers, our ecological footprint was substantially higher, per capita, than today. Our ancestors laid a larger claim on the ecosystem, in return for a much lower standard of living. With a population of no more than a few million, humans managed to wipe out all of the large land animals almost everywhere they set foot.

FAIRFIELD, Iowa—Inside the Raj, an idyllic French country-style spa and resort nestled among cornfields in southeastern Iowa, I asked for the gemstone light therapy, which promised to deluge me with inner peace, expand my consciousness and increase my energy. But they told me I wasn’t ready. So I had to settle for the tongue reading and pulse assessment. Several minutes into having a bald and shoeless Australian stranger peering at my papillae, I wondered what I had gotten myself into. I had traveled to Fairfield and nearby Maharishi Vedic City to try to understand the appeal of Marianne Williamson, a spiritual guru running for president.

As we inch closer to the national title game on Jan. 13, there will be many debates around the fourth-ever meeting between LSU and Clemson. Who's better, Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence? Clyde Edwards-Helaire or Travis Etienne? Purple as an accent to gold or purple as a partner for orange? Dabo Swinney's sideline sermons or Ed Orgeron's gumbo jokes? But if you're in a Bourbon Street watering hole on the eve of the big game and looking to get a throwdown started between a Tigers fan and a, um, Tigers fan, there's only one question that will serve as the proper stick of flint to get the evening ignited:

Of the most feared terrorist leaders the United States has hunted and killed this century—from Osama bin Laden to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi—no death ever had the significance of the one America just dealt. The killing of Iran’s Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, in a U.S. strike yesterday in Baghdad wasn’t just the targeted assassination of a state military leader. It marked a dangerous new chapter in a roiling region Soleimani has helped shape for more than a decade, and moved the U.S. and Iran’s cycle of proxy violence and sabotage closer to outright war. President Donald Trump did not immediately claim victory

This was 10 years ago, and the voice on the other end of the telephone sounded gruff and weary. As many often do when a stranger calls, he asked, “How did you get this number?” That’s always a tricky one to answer. You never know if you’re spoiling a confidence. But before I could worry about that, the voice softened and strengthened and a loud laugh landscaped by so many New York nights out of the past took over. “I’m kidding. I’m glad you called,” Don Larsen said. “I was 81-91 as a major league pitcher. If that’s all people knew about me, nobody would ever call.” A pause.

Weirdly absent from much of the professional speculation about where and how Iran will exact its promised “severe revenge” for the U.S. drone strike killing of Quds Force Gen. Qassem Suleimani is mention of the dead man’s highly suggestive hint. During a time of intense saber rattling between Iran and President Donald Trump in July 2018, Suleimani gave a speech during which he called out the American president: “Mr. Gambler, Trump! I’m telling you that we are close to you, exactly where you wouldn’t think that we are.” So what might Suleimani have meant when he suggested his reach was closer than we think? It is hard to understand Iran Supreme Leader Khamenei’s blunder in attacking the US Embassy in Baghdad. He either believed Trump was weakened by his impeachment, as western liberal Media breathlessly and continuously reported, or he might have been misled by John Kerry’s incompetent advice (apparently Kerry met again with Khamenei’s emissaries in Paris just few weeks ago). Whatever the reasons, his goal of triggering a limited war with America to rally his people around the regime has failed miserably. Iran desperately wanted a war -- drone attacks on Saudi Arabia’s heart of oil production, false-flag hits on oil tankers, unrest in Yemen – all aimed at this goal.

Investigators believe Ali also victimized other children dating back to 2013 after he arrived in the US.
