Pelosi says Trump carried out strike
on Iranian commander without
authorization and she wants details

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is calling on the Trump administration to immediately brief lawmakers on the U.S. airstrike that killed a top Iranian commander in Iraq and what the White House plans to do next. The strike in Iraq was directed by President Donald Trump and killed Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran's secretive Quds Force, the Department of Defense announced Thursday night. The move, which is likely to provoke retaliation from Iran, comes amid heightened tensions between the Trump administration and Tehran over rocket attacks aimed at coalition forces in Iraq. U.S. officials have said those attacks were likely carried out by Iranian-backed militias with links to the Quds Force.

Based upon what the leftist and liberal Congressional Democrats have been doing and saying, President Trump would have had to be totally incompetent to tell them beforehand the details of the “Top Secret” military operation to take out that Iranian General and his cohorts, as those Democrats would have immediately leaked that information to the liberal media for worldwide dissemination.

The world would be a much safer place if Jiimmy Carter would have whacked the Iranians in 1979, when they captured our embassy staff. Or if the Germans had attacked Palestine for the killings at the 1972 Olympics. Or if Bush 41 had attacked the Iranians for sheltering Saddam's Aircraft in 1991 during the first Gulf War.

An article written by Dustin Murphy, a federal government lawyer, that was published in The Federalist (“Here Are The Rules On When Presidents Can Use Military Force Without Asking Congress” – May 4, 2017), congressional consent, historically, has not been required when a president exercises Article II powers. Former presidents used military power without congressional approval, including President Obama in Libya in 2011 and President Clinton in Kosovo in 1999. “Domestically, military force is authorized under the Constitution in three ways: (1) Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, on when Congress “declares” war; (2) Article 1, Section 8, on when Congress authorizes the use of force; and (3) Article II under the president’s inherent commander-in-chief powers.” Mr. Murphy points out, Article I vests in Congress the power to declare war, Article II vests in the president “an inherent authority to conduct U.S. foreign affairs and use military action to protect the national interest as the commander-in-chief.”

Qassem Soleimani in Iraq last week. "My final warning to my fellow Democrats: be careful what you do -- either out of a general feeling of opposition to President Trump or partisanship, thinking about the Democratic primary," Lieberman said Monday on "Your World." She's now 17 (as of 3 January) but she still looks childlike, prepubertal, younger than her 14-year-old sister.
