Columnist: ‘Terrifying’ That Parishioners

A columnist writing at AZCentral.com suggests it was “terrifying” that parishioners were armed at the church in White Settlement, Texas. On December 29, Breitbart News reported that a gunman at West Freeway Church of Christ opened fire, only to be shot dead by an armed parishioner. Jack Wilson, the good guy with a gun, was one of many parishioners who drew their guns to fight back when the heinous attack began. On December 31, Elivia Diaz, editorial columnist for the Republic and AZcentral.com reacted to the quick takedown of the gunman by claiming that Wilson’s defensive gun use “has turned into a PR tool by gun advocates.”

The "columnist" shouldn't set foot onto any Texas public university/college then, since it's legal for students and faculty to have firearms even in classrooms.

And if no one took down the shooter, and he had killed another dozen people, she would be calling for a ban on "assault shotguns." Never mind that the sawed-off shorty was illegal, and it is illegal to murder people, she would use this as a PR tool by gun opponents and say we need more laws against weapons like this "assault shotgun."

Like the actor Michael Douglas admitted, there are a lot of liberal/progressives who barely have control over their emotions. They don't trust themselves with a weapon so they project that instability on everyone else. It is the supreme ego trip and pampered fools like Elivia Diaz are a prime example. God help us when egomaniacs get power because the first thing they do is to try and control everyone according to their sick world view.

FTA: "Diaz wrote, 'Have we really reached a point when each of us need (sic) to carry a firearm anywhere we go?'" Yes, I have, Reached that point a long time ago after seeing what human bilge could do to others if not physically controlled. For the population at large, I'd say no. Not everyone possesses the frame of mind, the training, the habitual sobriety and cool-headedness necessary, or even the desire to carry and potentially use a firearm in self defense. For most of us, it's a new mode of life, a life as gray man or gray woman as we go about our daily routines smiling and saying "Excuse me." No one should suspect a thing. EDC means every day carry, something serious firearm permit holders have conditioned and trained themselves to do wherever it is legal* to do so. *In the Sunshine State--sometimes sardonically called the Gunshine State--one seeking a concealed firearm license must first learn where it is not legal to carry. Examples: schools, government buildings, courthouses, county or city jails, police stations, professional ballgames and conventions that charge gate admission (except gun shows), bars, places of trouble such as strip clubs, boxing facilities, and a few others. Banks are okay for permit holders and their hidden firearms. After all, that's where the money is, whether it's being brought in or out. Bank customers have been robbed both going and coming from banks. Being armed gives one an extra measure of safety, if not invulnerability. Happy New Year, LDotters one and all!

I guess the editorial columnist Diaz would have preferred everyone be unarmed so more of the religious zealots could have died by the hands of the murderer. From where the killer was positioned and the shotgun his choice of weapon, not an evil AR or AK, his killing zone would have been only immediately around him but the carnage would still have been great. I guess this clueless bozo writer just fears the handgun that the parishioners were carrying more than saving lives. Diaz would rather see mass deaths than a person doing something good to save people. It's cowards like this columnist that I would not want to go into a battle with.

The number stomps Democrat fundraising numbers, including Sen. Bernie Sanders raising more than $34 million and Mayor Pete Buttigieg raising $25 million in the fourth quarter.

Nancy Pelosi, AKA Nasty Nancy, allowed Adam Schiff, AKA Shifty Schiff, to run the impeachment "inquiry" through Shifty's Intelligence Committee, where Shifty had total control. He set the rules to allow only the witnesses he wanted. He lied in his opening statement to commence the inquiry by making up President Trump's phone conversation with Ukraine's President Zelensky. The resulting vote to impeach was a foregone conclusion regardless of the evidence, or lack thereof. Pelosi has not sent Shifty's articles of impeachment to the Senate for a trial because she said she wants to first see the Senate trial procedures.
