The assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice just issued a statement reminding that America is not a “police state,” and neither should be the college campuses that dot the landscape of this country.
The very fact the DOJ has to release this statement shows how very far America’s freedoms have fallen.
“College campuses should not be mini police states,” wrote Eric Dreiband, assistant attorney general, as well as several other attorneys, in a “Statement of Interest” filed in U.S. District Court on behalf of plaintiffs accusing Jones County Junior College in Mississippi of several egregious freedom of speech violations against students.

This whole system of "higher education" is going to collapse under its own weight and maybe that's not a bad thing. Some of the professors are worse than the radical students and we wonder why they act like little snowflakes and communists.

Any college or university that restricts God given rights should not receive a penny of government money for any purpose period!

Because their faculties and administrators tend to be overwhelmingly leftist, colleges and universities are increasingly becoming democrat incubators. The dems have gotten away with this largely because of the prevalence of democrat-appointed federal judges, who turn away plaintiffs seeking First Amendment protections and local judges who minimally punish Antifa-type thugs. At least our President is turning the tide by appointing conservative federal judges to replace the retiring leftist judges.

#4, Nails it. When you spend 200K or more at many colleges or universities today, what you get for that is an indoctrinated anti-American raging feminist or an angry anti-American soy boy who has willingly jettisoned any trait of manliness. Of course, all kids do not come out this way but far too many believe the communist lie that has been pushed down their throats by rabid leftists professors who hate the country that enables them to life the high life.
The administration is all about the money and they clearly have thrown their lot in with the communists that permeate the faculty. It is a rancid system and until parents wise up and reject it, it will continue. Whether it is your alma-mater or not, stop sending your kids there. Sending your child to an impressively prestigious school of higher learning is folly if they leave hating the country and advocating a political system that has been the cause of hundreds of millions of deaths. Many colleges and universities in the system we now have in this country run in complete opposition to our founding principles and that should be enough to prevent you from spending a fortune for brainwashing. Educate your children when they are in elementary school with the values and truths you know to be worthy. You cannot send a blank slate to school because it will be filled up with radical ideology. It just breaks my heart to see so many young people deceived and their lives ruined because these radicals have infiltrated education. Just think for a moment about what kind of person comes out of these universities eager to teach your children. Don’t think these radical ideas just begin at the college level, it seeps into the lower levels too because the teachers are products of these colleges and universities. Teach your children well because someone is out there willing to teach them lies they learned because they had no foundation in the truth.

Education used to be about teaching students to reason and be inquisitive. Any more they have become indoctrination centers for radical left opinions and hatred for anything else. To deviate is bring down the wrath of the thought police.

I entered college 50 years ago and it was affordable. I paid my tuition with summer work and part time jobs. But there were not a lot of regulations and administrators back then. Also, we students were not so darn sensitive back then. Now, they have to have their hands held just to step into a room.

FTA - "Let’s remember one thing here, and one thing only: The First Amendment is not the government’s guarantee of freedom of speech. It’s not a government gift; it’s not a government grant; it’s not a government promise.
It’s a reminder to government of a God-given right to the individual. It’s a reminder to government that freedom of speech comes from God — not government."
We have a serious problem here and it is metastasizing rapidly. Indeed, federal intervention is destroying academia. I would urge all parents to be very careful about where their college-bound children will be sent to be educated.
This police state movement at colleges is only one facet of the left's plan for achieving one world government and the new world order. It must be stopped. Don't send your lids to institutions that have these so-called "free speech zones".

Eternal Verity - -
All institutions which do not have to turn a profit in order to exist - - will eventually be taken over by communists.
So why is it surprising that schools funded by taxpayer wealth stolen by government have gone all-out commie?
The only solution - - the only one - - is to get government at all levels OUT of education.

Colleges have now become advanced indoctrination camps. Parents are spending a lot of money, and a lot of debt is being assumed to make the kids into socialists and communists. Plus, in spite of intelligence, there is a whole lot of ignorance among college graduates.

Many jobs require a college degree, sadly.
Now more than ever it is important for people to learn to think for themselves and learn to think rationally. Many of the college professors do not.
Learn the material, tell the professors what they want to hear, keep your personal opinion to yourself, and you should do ok. Avoid the most radical classes. Do not attend the high priced colleges. They are a waste of money. Don't be afraid to drop a class if it has a bad teacher especially if the class isn't required.. Often it can be replaced with something else.

The problem is always in the humanities, what used to be the center of the university experience. Engineering schools and the hard sciences are still trying to educate. The good thing is that the lefties in the humanities generally support the notion of an empty curriculum with few requirements. In other words, a student in the sciences can avoid much of the politically-correct nonsense in the humanities. Unfortunately, the humanities house the " . . . studies" departments and enable them and their faculty to try to dictate the overall university ethos. Presidents and provosts are now generally functionaries who will do anything to hold on to their high-paying jobs. Legislatures, trustees, parents and voters have to apply the pressure, but remember that colleges will do all in their power to evade the law when it comes to things like affirmative action, admission quotas, etc. We need conservative presidents and deans to make things happen.

Unfortunately, for students who wish to pursue a career in medicine (human or animal) or the sciences (engineering, computers etc) it is necessary to attend universities, especially in order to achieve certifications and training, otherwise they are relegated to the lower end of the pay scale in those fields. My daughter isn't necessarily interested in becoming a full-fledged doctor in veterinary medicine, but is still looking at a degree as her one means of obtaining a job that will help her become independent of her parents. But even the sciences are becoming more and more politicized. The only answer I can see happening is perhaps single-interest schools be opened to give these people the intensive training they need, rather than complaining endlessly (but doing nothing) about it. If companies are not finding the employees they want out of the universities, they should "man up" and create internships and training schools of their own.
Perhaps a semi-return to the old system of apprenticeship/journeyman via the various companies? If companies can no longer take their chances on university grads, theyre going to have to pony up to create the kind of employees they want. It seems to be the only way they can counteract the lack of responsibility by the universities.

Solution: Cut off all grants, and student loans until the universities/colleges comply with the Constitution. The Rules are simple...if you don't like what a speaker says, walk away. Disruption of any proceeding is forbidden, take your protest outside! Immediate Expulsion is the penalty for any violation.

While we are here, let's talk about eliminating so-called "hate crimes." A person could have a tantrum, throw their soft drink at a street vendor, and tear up the food cart, and get maybe 6 months probation and a fine for committing assault and battery. But when that same person uttered "go back to Mexico while she committed her little act of stupidity, she got 16 years in prison for a "hate crime." Hate crimes are "thought" crimes, and have no pla

Colleges are nothing more than indoctrination centers for socialist/communist nonsense, even the so-called prestigious colleges. College degrees are nothing more than attendance certificates.
Exhibit A: that Cortez woman sitting in Congress was granted a degree in economics from Boston University. She emerged credentialed but uneducated and still ignorant. Shame on Boston University.

Remove all taxpayer money from colleges and universities. Privatize, and purge the left. They can run their own colleges.
