Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. Around the globe, cancer incidence has been steadily increasing over the past half-century.
The question I have asked myself and many others most often over the past decade is, with all this technology, the artificial intelligence, the autonomous cars, the drones, how have we not cracked cancer?
Well, there are of course many answers, the first of which is that there is no such thing as “cracking cancer.” We call it cancer, but every cancer is of course different and needs a different type of cure.

I don't think there is a more ambiguous term in the English language than "Cancer Survivor". Most times the survival is fleeting.

Were it not for Hitler and his slaughter of six million Jews, we might already have a cure for cancer

From having been the sole caregiver for one stage four cancer victim - multifocal MFH (malignant fibrous histiocytoma). a rare soft-tissue sarcoma, and another with an earlier stage very large colon cancer, I am very wary of using the term “silver bullet” when it comes to “cracking” cancer.
The author had to back away just a bit:
Finally, the last time I wrote about cutting-edge cancer treatments, I was contacted by a close friend who is a leading oncologist. He pointed out that a disclaimer is very much necessary when I write these articles. The last thing oncologists need is for their patients to think there is some magical solution here and show up to their appointments with a cut-out of an article. In fact, the last thing a cancer patient needs is false hope.
So the disclaimer is that this company is in the clinical trial phase, and if all goes according to plan, tumors might be much more manageable and treatable than they are today, but a lot has to happen before we get there.
So the headline writer lifts cancer patients up…and the author (if they read beyond the headline) brings them back to earth and reality.

Once again, if this is the silver bullet, Jewish scientists in the forefront of medical breakthroughs.

This is great news if it pans out. To say that Alpha radiation has a short path length is understating it. Alpha particles (a helium nucleus) can be stopped by a sheet of paper. To do damage it has to be internalized. This is why the Litvinenko assassins used Polonium-210, an Alpha emitter, in a pitcher of tea that he drank, yet after the fact the Brit NIH couldn't pick up anything on their detectors at the restaurant. If as they hope, the Alpha particles can travel only a few millimeters and zero in on the affected area only, this would be a big breakthrough.

My nephew of my best friend was diagnosed at two years old with Wilms Tumor, a cancer of the kidneys, at the time few survived. Her nephew is now 32 years old and an engineer with NASA.
Our son-in-law's younger sister was diagnosed at 2 years old with terminal cancer of the liver. She picked Disney World for her trip from the "Make a Wish" foundation. She is now 32 years old. When it appeared that she was going to survive, she was told that because of the radiation treatments she would never have children. She just gave birth to her third healthy natural child.
Our daughter's college roommate had a little boy diagnosed at birth with Neuroblastoma, a nasty web-like cancer that, in the 80's it claimed two children from our kids school. Very few of these survived a year or two. Her roommates little guy is now 5 and cancer free. He'll have regular check-up but they claim he's passed the danger mark for its return.
Each one of these childhood cancers had a foundation started by the parents of a child who did not survive. They have dedicated their lives to research that might save other kids. These are a great place to make donations.
We can only hope that this new treatment will be the key to unlocking the cancer puzzle. In the meantime, there are brilliant minds working on the problem and saving lives that could not be save even 30 years ago. We cannot forget to give thanks to God for giving researchers and doctors the skill and dedication to finding a cure.

I'll bet it will be years before they allow it in the US.

From the Jews, cures for cancer. From the Islamist's, better bomb belts. Choose life.

Curing cancer is bad for the pharmaceutical industrial complex.
Prevention should get more focus. I survived four stage IV cancers; luckily I was active duty military and didn’t see the bill.
Doctors are Happy to offer you Chemo/radiation. Cancer didn’t kill me but radiation has ruined my life. Glad to be alive none the less.

There is a lot of money in cancer. The drugs alone will bankrupt those financially able to afford it. The ''donation societies'' are self-perpetuating. (Give more so we can put on bigger telethons.) Then come charlatans with a sure-cure. Is there any wonder people say, ''If we can put a man on the moon, why not cure cancer?''
Prayer is the answer. This exploration sounds just exactly like an answer to prayer.

Gotta think it will never be 'cracked'...since so many people are making a good living off of the drugs and procedures to take care of it....kind of like that carburetor that gets 400 mpg....

Personally I consider all those chem trails in the atmosphere turning the sky white, all of which eventually fall to the ground for humans to breathe in as Ground Zero for all the different cancers rising in this country. None of those chemicals have been certified as safe for human consumption. It's an insidious way to reduce population.

Thanks to a doc named Mikey, I am a 30 year survivor.
Israel will be the one to find a cure. They are also working on a cancer of the eye.
