A new California law that takes effect in 2020 will make it illegal to suspend a student in grades 1-5 for disobeying teachers or administrators. Starting next year, the rule will be applied to students in grades 6-8 and will include charter schools.
There's a very good reason for this change, according to supporters. It's because of racism, you see. More little black kids are punished for disobeying teachers than little white kids. Naturally, there's only one possible explanation, to the exclusion of all others.
Whitey has it in for black children.

They didn’t learn a thing from Trayvon Martin, whose downhill path was greased by permissive, political, self-protective so-called “educators”…This makes me sick...

When I was a kid, California schools were among the best in the nation, and I went to LA schools. It breaks my heart to see what is happening to education there...abundant to the state itself.

Couldn't possibly be cause the little thugs are already indoctrinated by the age of 6 that they can do whatever they want and don't have to listen to "whitey". My sister works in an elementary school library and sees this attitude constantly.

Chances are there will be an exodus of good teachers who will be replaced by just about anyone who wants the job.

First thru fifth grade kind of made sense, but older students?
Hopefully they still can be removed from class otherwise they will disrupt everything. Stick all the kids that are being disruptive into a gymnasium sized room, no amenities, no phones. no teachers, and armed guards. Give these disruptive students the option of dropping out. They don't want to be there anyway.

When I was in school, they didn't suspend you for misbehaving. They beat your butt with a board.

First we eliminate the crime of porch pirate and shoplifting then we say don't discipline disruptive kids in schools.. That'll fix the crime problem in California and decrease prison crowding. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Teach them it’s ok to disobey their teachers, then their parents then the police. They can try to disobey a judge, then prison guards but it might no go over well.

What 'tude" they dont get from the baby momma, the school system will teach them. Some things are so destined for failure, you have to wonder about the sanity involved.

Rather than punish miscreants, we should depressurize them. Let them have the afternoon off to go to the mall.

And the real losers are the kids of color who want to learn, but will now spend most of their time watching discipline issues play out in the classroom.

A Hillary win would have resulted in a SCOTUS that would have had Disparate Impact Doctrine be the law of the land. This set push back on this kind of thinking is Trumps biggest accomplishment.

Reason we need to build more jails to facilitate these undesirables. Students with average grades will have more employment opportunities and much better longevity scores.

There's a very good reason that more "little black kids" are punished for disobeying teachers, and it's NOT racism.

I wish the Left would pick a position and stick to it. First it was "Children are innocent, and incapable of lying". Then it was "Children are nothing more than Little Adults and whatever comes out of their mouths should be given consideration". Now it's "Children should not be held accountable for their actions".
Doctor, my brain hurts.

When I was in middle school, the principal had a paddle the size of a tennis racket with holes drilled in it, and he wasn't afraid to use it. IIRC, it did an admirable job of "restoring justice" and giving kids a "minute to reset and be mindful of their actions!!" Of course, this was in the 70's, when classroom discipline actually meant something!
