Pete Buttigieg has tried to carve out a niche among Democratic presidential hopefuls as the candidate who is comfortable talking about religion. Unfortunately, he’s only comfortable trying to use religion as a means of beating conservatives, especially religious ones, over the head.
This annoying penchant was on display again in Buttigieg’s Christmas message. He tweeted:
Today I join millions around the world in celebrating the arrival of divinity on earth, who came into this world not in riches but in poverty, not as a citizen but as a refugee. No matter where or how we celebrate, merry Christmas.
Buttigieg’s message struck me as fake history.

As long as Donald Trump stands in his way, Buttigieg with his phony drive-thru religious pontifications has zero chance of being elected President, thank God.

Christians may be described as living in a strange land, since heaven is our home; but the Creator is in no way a refugee in His own creation and not even in context of His life as very man. I'm noticing how leftists are trying to commandeer Christianity now, but the gates of Hell shall not prevail against Christ's church. You can be fooled, you can be a fool, but you can't fool God, and God ALWAYS, ALWAYS wins. Divinity has a name, by the freaking way. I'm sure it hurts to acknowledge the true God, and I'll bet calling Mhd's god by name isn't a problem for Butti.

If Buttigieg wasn’t gay he wouldn’t be standing on any debate stage with Democrats who want to run for President.

Mayor Pete has the same problem a lot of Democrats have--he thinks his saying something makes it so. It doesn't.

Mayor trying to validate his own twisted view. Not going to happen. How does he sleep. Chemical assistance most likely.

That comment by Buttigieg shows his lack of knowledge and proves he is trying to turn Christianity around to serve his political ambition. Didn't work!

Yes, #3. And that’s one of the many reasons that he will not be president - America is not ready for sodomites in the White House. Before Butt plug goes spouting off about Christianity, he should take a look at what both the Old Testament and the New have to say about homosexuality.

Peter the Homosexual is wrong on both counts. Jesus, Mary and Joseph were not poor. Joseph was a craftsman - a catpenter, and apparently taught Jesus the trade.
And they were not refugees - they were returning to their home town, as required by Caesar Augustus, to pay their taxes. They had to stay in a barn because during that busy travel season - Christmas - they forgot to use Travelocity. That oversight caused Mary to give birth in a manger.

This is what Mayor Pete is meaning when he calls the Holy Family refugees. From Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 2
The Escape to Egypt
13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”[c]
16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled......

Queer and gay are two perfectly good English language words. I prefer to use the word homosexual to identify a person of that deviant persuasion. It is not derogatory but it is precise.

It is not just Buttigieg, but Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, Schumer, and other Democrats that are trying to claim the moral high ground. After 3 solid years of hate fill slander of President Trump the reeking hypocrisy is enough to gag a maggot on a garbage truck.

As far as I'm concerned, the mayor of Bend Over, Indiana can frame his "marriage" certificate and hang it on the wall next to his letter from Santa Claus that he got when he was 5. Same moral equivalency and of the same value.
God create man and woman because He didn't need or want any more. Period.

I don't know what Bible St. Pete is reading , because the Holy Family were not refugees. NIV Luke 2 " In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child."

Mayor Pete is to religion what Cory Booker is to intelligent thinking Neither one has a clue about either. Pete gives off the vibe of a creepy stalker with his obsessive attacks on Pence and his Christian faith. He really creeps me out. Even more than Beto did. Pete also had no problems trowing his own relations into danger by lying about them and exposing them to death threats early in his campaign. He is an evil man who is worse than Obama ever was. He turns thin skin and petty into an art form.

With a putative Harvard/Oxford education, this doofus would have failed my 4th grade bible class. Jesus a refugee? Does he have any idea what the House of David would mean to the Jews?

Yes, #11, but all of that occurred after Jesus was born. Buttplug said that they were refugees when Jesus was born. Not true.

Petewhosis, Pathetic's answer to the question,"Who is the WORST possible presidential candidate (even worse than Fauxohontas}, brings his warped Theology to bear on the genuine Christians of the nation. I do not condemn Pete for his homosexuality, but rather, for his presumption of ego that goes beyond that of Christ's. That he should be the man to lead the nation, based on his life's accomplishments, is beyond ludicrous.

Pastor Darrell Scott says it best:
Pastor Darrell Scott ridiculed Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s Christmas greeting as a “load of crap” on Wednesday after the South Bend mayor claimed Jesus came to earth as a refugee.
Breitbart article about Scott’s reaction was posted yesterday...

Mayor Pete, man or spouse, is only surpassed in "bat feces" craziness by that all state guy on our TV's constantly, who can't seem to make up his mind whether he's a dog or a water heater, among other absurd choices!
Maybe, Pete could get a job managing the farm before Sears has to sell that too.

If you believe the Gospel According to St. Luke (which I do), Jesus was born into a land occupied by an alien power (Rome). Jesus' father was a carpenter. Whether he was poor or not, I don't know. The Bible does not contain a detailed account of the economic status of various tradesmen.
If you believe the Gospel According to St. Matthew (which I do), Jesus became a refugee when his parents took him to Egypt to escape from Herod, who sought to kill baby boys two years of age and under.
All that said, Mayor Pete uses the facts of the stories in the Bible selectively in order to support his political agenda. Not wise. The stories of the Bible are meant to transform US. We are not to transform the Bible.

This is as bogus as Obama and "the precepts of Jesus Christ." The difference is that while Zippy doesn't have the first clue what Christianity is about, Buttigieg is smart - and evil - enough to twist it to his own ends.
