New York—The Hallmark Channel is reversing its ban on advertisements featuring same-sex couples and apologizing for pulling them in the first place, a network spokeswoman told CNN Business. The decision comes after Hallmark parent company Crown Media Family Networks faced calls for viewers and advertisers to boycott its television channel. The ads, from online wedding planning company Zola, showed same-sex couples celebrating marriages. Hallmark president and CEO Mike Perry said Sunday that the company made the "wrong decision" and wants to reinstate the commercials.
"The Crown Media team has been agonizing over this decision as we've seen the hurt

One more reason to cut the cable. We didn't agonize long over the disgust their feelings gave us. Feelings are all that matter to liberals, so they can't complain when I say tat we fel this is wrong on many levels.

They have seen the hurt to Family values by having it suggested their channel be boycotted.
They don't seem to care about the hurt for Families, just the hurt for same sex people.
Now they are arrogantly asking, begging , soliciting heterosexuals to boycott them.
I have no problem doing so, their shows a pablum anyway.

Hallmark is part of my cable package. But since I never watch it how could I boycott it? Guess they plan to replace A Christmas Carol with Broakeback Mountain. Although they occasionally play rotten stuff, I prefer Turner Classic Movie fare because most of their movies were made when "gay" was an adjective.

The sniveling Perry went on to say, "We apologize for our family friendly programming that some people find offensive, and for trying to protect children from being exposed to perversion."

In 1944, Hallmark adopted the slogan, “When you care enough to send the very best” in greeting cards. Most people of faith who “care enough,” will choose to “serve the Lord.” This household chooses to “... serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15) and will boycott everything “Hallmark”. It is written in Scripture that homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord: Genesis19:5, Leviticus 18:22,20:13, Deuteronomy22:5,23:18, Judges19:22-23, Romans1:26-27, 1Corinthians6:9-10, 2Peter6-11, Jude6-8, Revelation21:5-8,22:14-15. (Note: Chapter 22 is the last chapter in Revelation and it contains 21 verses; in Verse 15 it is again written that the sexually immoral are among those who will not go through the gates into the city.)

Too bad. Used to be somewhat confident that nothing really offensive would pass the "good taste-o-meter". And although they air some movies with a serious, heavy concept, most of the movies are saccharine, repetitive plotlines with predictable endings. But not offensive, just sweet romantic tales.
I suspect that the kerfuffle over an advertiser was planned: knowing full well what the general audience is for Hallmark Channel, how easy it would be to draw attention to themselves in order to, frankly, blackmail the Channel.
Have never seen ads like this on any other channel. Hallmark does not sell a line of clothing, gowns, tuxedos etc.,and does not run a wedding planner on the side. These folks need to get over themselves and learn to accept the fact that not everyone likes them, approves of the lifestyle. But people are getting very tired of their thuggish tactics.
Most likely the past is prologue,-- as the saying goes-- and the goal was to disrupt and compel compliance OR ELSE you'll get a yellow star sewn onto your coat... I am not comparing this to the holocaust. The totalitarian state did not spring up overnight... but it came darn close to overnight. Therefore people need to quit acquiescing to the huggee's demands.

Good-bye Hallmark. The only reason I watched (and enjoyed) their love-story movies was because I knew I would not be offended. Now that they've caved to the LGBTQRST nazis to show their "lifestyle" in commercials, how long before they demand LGBRTQRST story lines in the movies? Next year, you can bet on it.
I'd send an email to Hallmark, but the views held by us normals just don't have the same cache as the insane.

Unless one is willing to cut the cord with their cable provider it has no effect to 'boycott' the Hallmark channel when you continue to pay for it as part of your cable bundling. Now if you were to cancel your Suddenlink, ATT, Direct TV, etc. contract BECAUSE of Hallmark then you might see a serious response. Or you could pick out someone else who was advertising on this network and use them as a tangential scapegoat to make a point. Bottom line - boycotts don't work very well especially since the same Alphabet crowd owns Facebook, YouTube, Twitter.....

My boycott of Hallmark might not show up immediately, but I suspect they get a share of the revenues with respect to viewership, so the fewer the viewers the less revenue. Plus, they get ad revenue according to viewership, and that should affect their pocket book, too.

I know Hallmark worries about lawsuits by refusing to air commercials like these. I will watch Hallmark however, I will not watch these type of commercials nor can anyone make me watch them!

First Chik-fil-A now Hallmark give in to the Gay Mafia. Scripts of cold oatmeal acted out by B-list actors. I won't miss it a bit.

I don’t watch television so can’t boycott the channel, but we can all boycott their stores and their products.

I will be calling today to drop the Hallmark add on to my Sling account!
To be honest, I was getting a bit weary of the same ol' Christmas theme:
Dead mother or wife, big city person discovered a quaint little town, business executive decides to love Christmas more than his/her job....

There is a Hallmark Store in out town that I've never shopped in but was actually planning to this Christmas.
This will keep me from having to do that.

I don't watch their movies but I can certainly stop buying their overpriced cards in their stores or at Walmart. If you need cards, check out JacquieLawson.com. I also will not purchase any more of their Christmas cards after using them for all my life. There are alternatives.

#24, I believe, like Chick-fil-A, Hallmark stores are franchised. When you boycott the Hallmark channel, it has little or nothing to do with the Hallmark store. Really, at that point, you're boycotting the mom&pop people who run the individual local stores and hurting the anti-Google/Amazon/Facebook community. While I understand your desire to boycott the Hallmark label, in this case, it's not really gonna reach the people you want it to. That being said, even though I worked for a Hallmark store while in college, I've stopped shopping there for the most part because the cards are outrageously expensive. Trader Joe's at $.99 a card is more my style.
As for this waffling bow to the LBGTQ-xyz community whining, I'm very disappointed but not surprised. My spouse told me Toyota is a big sponsor of Hallmark and it will not give up it's unigender/anybody-should-be-able-to-marry-anybody stance. So, money again is the culprit. I love the soupy movies so won't be canceling our satellite, but I will fast forward using the DVR through any and all commercials.
MAGA!!! KAG!!! Merry Christmas to all and Trump 2020!!!

Once again, the virtue-shaming bullies at GLAAD have bulldozed a company. Any one want to bet how long it will be before gay couples are featured on the Hallmark Channel movies/shows? Once you cave to these bullies, they demand ever more compliance with their ideology until you completely capitulate to them, and they then have a major say so over what you air and its content. Witness the Boy Scouts, whom the Gay Lobby set out to break 30 years ago and now appears to be close to achieving their objective (Levi Strauss was among the first companies to suspend their charitable donations to the Scouts, and it has been nothing but downhill since then for the Gay bullies: the Scouts have now or soon will go into bankruptcy due to sexual abuse cases, no doubt because of gay scout masters who flooded the organization after BSA tried to mollify the gay lobby).

A ha ha ha ha! It's not just a matter of hating traditional families; they have to rub it in your children's noses out of spite while they watch what Hallmark sells as wholesome programming. I wish I had a Hallmark subscription so I could cancel it.
