U.S. Attorney John Durham issued a statement contradicting a key and consequential conclusion of Inspector General Michael Horowitz, and reads in part:
…”last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened.” (Snip)
What inspector general Horowitz outlines in that key section is that: (A) he has reviewed everything, and talked to everyone (current and former) within the FBI; and (B) the ONLY evidence they FBI cited for the opening of Crossfire Hurricane is the singular conversation between George Papadopoulos and Australian Ambassador Alexander Downer and/or Downer’s asst. (Snip)
That’s it. Nothing else.

The reason for the conflict is simple to understand. Horowitz is a dim and Durham is a pubbie. Horowitz believes the dim collusion and coverup is appropriate and Durham does not.

IG has limited investigative powers. Barr and Durham have access to information the IG doesn't have. ANd I bet Durham is sending a message to future felons that the IG report will not save them. Best to make a deal now.

Why did the FBI assume Mifsud was working for the Russians? Wouldn't that be the first thing they would want to confirm before chasing down a blind ally after some possible blowhard? Mifsud could have been working for any number of people including Trump's political opposition. Why was the FBI seemingly so incurious? Wouldn't you want to know who else Mifsud contacted? Wouldn't you maybe talk to your buddies in MI5 and other allied counter-intelligence agencies to try and find out what they knew about this Russian spy? Or did somebody allegedly trustworthy tell the FBI Mifsud was a Russian asset? My guess is Durham and Barr know the answer to that question, but the disturbing thing is Horowitz didn't seemingly feel the need to ask it.

What is troubling about this, left to standard government review, IGs, the needed information to know this in NOT just a bunch of "errors" was unobtainable. The Deep State PLANNED it so. Only someone with a broad range of investigative power, like Dunham, would be able to uncover this. This means the standard means of internal oversight is easily circumvented by those of ill intent, apparently the intelligence community.
It's very positive that Dunham released a corrective statement but now we are left hanging again. When will Dunham deliver and how comprehensive will his net be?

Wikipedia:
James Brien Comey Jr is an American lawyer who was the 7th Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 2013 until his dismissal in May 2017.
So,what the IG report clearly states, James Comey was not actively in charge of his department, but was incompetent, at best. He should not feel vindicated in any way for allowing such abusive behavior, but presume he was simply following orders from the WH and AG with the expectation he would be rewarded by the expected Clinton administration.

A lot of people have been awaiting this report with baited breath.
I don't know why it doesn't amount to squat.
Just another Government cover up.

I really, REALLY hope this isn't becoming a setup where Mifsud is the ONLY bad guy in the whole (lying fake, coverup) version that is going to be sold to us, or at least tried.
Will they try to say that it was an "OOPSIE" and somehow this guy we trusted told us ......and nobody is at any fault, everyone was just doing their jobs, all good patriots, trying to do their very best. Darnit all if it turned out that they were wrong.
I don't buy it at all, they are all crooked and this is the cooked up, totally fake coverup version which these bastards have been desperately assembling for the two years that Mueller and his Gestapo thugs have been stalling.

Claire Smith, Joseph Mifsud's colleague was featured in the UK's Iraq Inquiry. She was copied (cc'd) in an email between John Scarlett, former head of MI6 and Julian Miller, Cabinet Office Intel and Security.
Halper leads to Dearlove/UK...not convincing. Notice the names above (mainly Smith and Scarlett) all played the 'dossier' game with Blair, Bush and Sec. Powell as basis for the Iraq invasion. Scarlett was Steele's boss in Moscow MI6 bureau and sits on Times of London board.
Remember, the international press barons created the concept of 'intelligence agencies'...Barr meeting with the Sun King last month (sans leaks) is not a minor detail.

I'm in agreement with #2. For Durham to come out with this statement has many thinking twice and lawyering up. I would not be surprised if they are looking at the criminal acts of Schiff and others in congress. A coup is a coup. The first attempt was during the election, then the Mueller investigation and when that did not work, the clown court in the House. The House impeachment crimes keep changing...what gives?????!!!!!

Horowitz is a stooge of the Deep State, Durham is a prosecutor.
