The Shakespearean Grandeur of
Trump Derangement Syndrome

Trump Derangement Syndrome, now playing out in the impeachment proceedings in the House, would require a Shakespeare adequately to describe and understand the way it is playing out as a motivating factor in our politics. The Bard did give us a hint of what is going on in one of his more obscure yet fabulously entertaining works, The Winter’s Tale. That mysterious late drama is a meditation on irrational jealousy, tyranny, and injustice. In the climactic scene in Act III of the play, when the innocent Queen Hermione is wrongly found guilty of adultery by her husband, King Leontes

FTA: ''The president, as he emphasized in a recent tweet, is seeking to “reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is. I was elected to ‘Clean the Swamp,’ and that’s what I am doing.” And I, for one, couldn't be happier. It's time for those arrogant crooks to be taken down and jailed, and yes, I have no doubt this is going to include some Republicans. Too damned bad.

So, Mr. Presser believes this "impeachment" is “what your jealousies awake, I tell you ’Tis rigour, and not law.” He's WRONG. This is a profiteering cabal, call it The Swamp or UNIPARTY or whatever, that is defending its turf and ability to raid the US Treasury to spread it around among friends and family. As Dickens famously noted, the law is an ass. Now we will further discover that politics is more than a contact sport. The Swamp is far from drained...and those alligators will yet be coming out...The Dems blew it...it's soon to be up to the GOPe to sink Trump in '20.

Well said. By adhering to the Framer's definition, Barack Obama should have been the only President in US history to have been impeached. His crimes were actually serious enough for that action yet he has not been touched - yet. Skin color by kenyan birth saved his hide. Pelosi is the worst of the Three Stooges attempting to bring down Donald Trump. She realized early on that there were no grounds for impeachment but she allowed herself to be led into a corner. She is the worst kind of politician and it looks like only death will relieve us of this incompetent fool. As for Schiff and Nadler, the stupidity of the voters and the timidity of the GOP will probably allow them to keep their offices.

This is a very accurate description of how mentally unstable Democrats have become. Perhaps they were that way all along.

This phony impeachment situation has me feeling a bit unsettled in my mind. I have difficulty making sense of discussions of it. There are too many names and accusations, dates and characters, and conclusions that seem to have no logic. And also too many good books detailing the entire sequence of events. Perhaps with time, there will be a succinct summary with a conclusion understandable to people of average common sense.

How long before Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, et al, assign themselves the title "Generalissimo" complete with a uniform covered in medals? Isn't the way things usually go in a banana republic?

Shakespeare is way over my head. I'll take as an example The Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. Bat guano crazy demoncraps running in circles, chasing their tail, howling at the moon and yelling "Off with his head. Off with his head."

The media and other Democrats have a hissy fit every time anyone tries to limit abortion at all. They always claim Republicans don't care about women's rights. This is rich considering the President they support just handed over Afghanistan to the Taliban, which doesn't believe in women's rights. Why would anyone ever trust Biden on anything, considering how much he continuously has lied about the debacle in Afghanistan? He even had a conversation with then-Afghan president Ghani in July where Biden told him that he must change the perception of Taliban's rampaging ...

History failed to record Leon Trotsky’s final thoughts as the ice axe penetrated his skull. But it’s reasonable to suspect that the founding Soviet revolutionary thought something similar to what New York Governor Andrew Cuomo might now be thinking: “Hey guys, I thought we were all on the same side!” Hero Trotsky had a greater claim to revolutionary credibility than Stalin did. Of course, this is why he was destroyed. Cuomo rocketed in popularity by providing a vivid contrast to Donald Trump during the days of dueling COVID-19 press conferences. The media swooned

On November 17, President Trump appointed Brandon Wales as the Director for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Wales was a highly qualified choice as he had been CISA's first Executive Director and previously served as the Director of the DHS Office of Cyber and Infrastructure Analysis (OCIA), which provides analysis of cyber and physical risks to America’s critical infrastructure. Perhaps the most pressing cybersecurity issue for America and CISA currently is the fallout from the SolarWinds hacking attack that has affected at least 2000 computer systems belonging to over 100 governmental and non-governmental agencies across the world.

Town of Cranmoor - Gil Lancour was driving home for lunch when he saw the deer struggling on the ice-covered reservoir used for growing cranberries. He just had to stop. Lancour, a 32-year-old worker for the Elm Lake Cranberry Co. west of Wisconsin Rapids, is a lifelong hunter, angler and general outdoorsman. But he had never seen anything like this before. The doe was out on glassy, super-slippery ice that had frozen over the reservoir, which was part of another, neighboring cranberry farm. She was on her haunches, struggling to get traction on the ice.

Jesus said, “Blessed are those pure of heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). Our country is filled with unheralded heroes. Those that don’t seek self-promotion or use bombast to be recognized. Their hearts are only pointed to serving others. They work for our good and for God, not seeking fame, but to serve. Many of our firefighters fit this model. They mostly serve as volunteers in local fire departments. They don’t get paid to serve, they just show up. They are the men and women who rush into burning buildings to bring people to safety.

How did the Constitution’s framers envision the presidency? Would Donald Trump be their worst nightmare, or just what they had in mind? We know something about what kind of person their ideal president was because of who was chosen to be our first. More or less the same folks who framed the Constitution agreed that George Washington should be the first president of the United States under the new federal government. Washington had led the Continental Army in its successful revolutionary war against Great Britain, he had presided over the Constitutional Convention itself, and he was regarded as a paragon

It is impossible for us to imagine what it was really like to have been locked in a desperate fight on that small island in the Pacific. When they mustered out as Marines, they were young and idealistic. When they hit the beaches at Iwo Jima, most were still in their teens. After the guns finally went silent, the survivors were men. Men as hard as diamonds. They had seen and done unimaginable things. They changed the course of the war and were themselves, forever changed. We are left to wonder if the War Department understood the enormous price

Federal officials are “keeping a very close eye” on the virus mutation, though its “not at all even close to being dominant” in the US, the White House chief medical advisor said. “Bottom line, we’re paying attention to it. We take everything like that seriously, but we don’t consider it an immediate threat right now,” Fauci said during a White House COVID-19 briefing.

I’ve often been hard on Sen. Joe Manchin and for good reason. Too often in the past, he’s presented himself as an unshakable moderate in order to keep his seat in deep-red West Virginia, while at the same time folding on major issues when he gets to Washington. Yet, I have to give him credit. Under immense pressure from the far-left of his party, including the leadership in Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, Manchin appears to be stiffening his spine. I’m not saying to trust him just yet, but it’s a good sign. Today, Manchin penned an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal

A viral TikTok trend claims to educate women who believe they are attracted to men but have only been socially conditioned into thinking they are heterosexual. Compulsory heterosexuality, colloquially known as ‘comphet’, is a term used to describe the belief that Western culture has coerced women into trying to view all connections between men and women as sexual or romantic. The argument is all women have been conditioned from childhood to view any feelings they have towards men as attraction—with some authors even going so far as to say all females are actually lesbian by nature. TikTok users are now sharing checklists to help women work out if
