The principal of Brooklyn’s PS 169 is in hot water over a swimming program for second-graders that exposes them to more than just the backstroke. Parents at the Sunset Park School are aghast the tots are taking lessons at a Manhattan fitness center where the children gather in a locker room with the club’s sometimes-naked members, school insiders told The Post. “Kids were seeing naked adults in the locker room. They don’t close the access to the public. Any member could come in.(Snip) But principal EuJin Tang—who once made headlines for canceling Christmas at the school—told parents they could not

I took swimming lessons as a child attending public schools. It was a 4th grade program and every school in town was bussed to the local YMCA. I have no memory of changing so I'm assuming we had some same sex privacy and adults were not present. I applaud the swimming lessons though. It is inexcusable not to teach children to swim.

I can well remember going up to our local parks and rec pool during summer vacation. You paid your dime and got dressed/undressed and showered in an open area with other males, kids and adults alike. Saw plenty of naked adults back then. So? No one was oogling. No one seemed concerned in the slightest.
The program supposedly has provided lessons to tens of thousands of public school students...are these the first complaints?

I too went to the Y for swimming lessons. As I recall, we didn't have separate changing facilities. Adults weren't using the pool while we kids were being instructed and the only adults present were either in the class or using the basketball court. During the summer, I spent as much time as possible at the public pool, sharing the locker room with adults. As a kid, seeing adult Men nude, while not common, it was normal in the usual settings.
I personally think that way to much is being made of this.

Here's what you get when you put folks named EuJin Tang in charge of kids when they shouldn't even be in our country.

Since the school seems to think they are above the parents, every parent should report this Tang puke to the police as a pedophile.

As a Boy Scout and a participant in the NY City summer swim programs, swim gear was never allowed in the pools. It seems to be a holdover from very early
years when the water wasn't sanitized well. This was in the 60s. I don't remember it being open to everyone who walked through, but customs change. You can google it. Pretty common.

Your kids should be able to swim long before they get to school. It ain't that hard to find a swim lesson. Do the 2nd graders who know how to swim get to skip it?

Throw this disgusting principal out and show her out of the county. She will be far better off wherever she came from. How the heck did she become principal in the first place??? Sleeping around with anyone or hooking children up with other perverts???

#8, kids from inner cities don't necessarily have the same level of guidance that you had. Every year middle schoolers and high schoolers from New York die at the Jersey Shore because they can't swim. It should be part of the school curriculum.

Is this any surprise? One of the core courses in public schools is to groom your child for future predators.

Back in the 70's they made us shower naked after gym class. This terrified me, I dreaded and hated it. Gym class was a joke, it wasn't like I sweated and who cares if I did. I would wrap a towel around myself and scamper through the shower, I got teased but it didn't stop me. I did NOT want to be naked in from of anyone, much less strangers.

Every YMCA and YWCA in the country has the same situation. I don't worry so much about kids seeing naked adults as the adults seeing naked children.

The fitness center offered access to private changing, but the school insisted that the young kids be given exposure to naked adults, and the opportunity to be ogled by them. Maybe Principal EuJin Tang, who canceled Christmas celebration at the school, has pervert friends who enjoy such things; who are we to judge? Very progressive no matter how you slice it.
