The United States Military Academy has ditched an acronym used by the Army Black Knights over the phrase’s ties to white supremacist gangs, officials said. The acronym GFBD—“God forgives, brothers don’t”—was removed from merchandise and a team flag after West Point officials and athletic department administrators were alerted to the issue in September, ESPN reports. Head football coach Jeff Monken was “mortified” when he was told of the phrase’s origin and addressed the team after learning of the connection, telling players it would immediately be removed from the program. “It’s embarrassing, quite frankly,” Lt. Gen. Darryl Williams, the US Military Academy’s superintendent,

SPLC lies endlessly. They are NOT a reliable source of information.
That said..... a skull and crossbones is a pirate flag, a symbol of criminality on the high seas, and frequently vicious murders by the pirates. IMO, the skull and crossbones is not a suitable emblem for any lawful, Christian, civilized group.

Military men have called themselves "brothers in arms" for centuries. Apparently this chicken-schiff, "mortified" coach knows nothing about that. I can't believe anybody gives in to these nut cases but you can be sure he would have been fired if he didn't surrender to the PC Mafia.

I hope President Trump reassigns the coach and General to a positions commensurate with their abilities. Clearly they should not be in charge of men and women of formative years if they think they need to apologize because ignorant people make ridiculous assumptions.
I'd be much more comfortable with their decisions if race-based admissions standards were ended in concert with their announcement.

I kind of lik(ed) Monken and was going to feel some sympathy for him as he gets walloped by 4 touchdowns against Navy next weekend. Not any more, after that display of emotion.
Maybe some members of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas also saw the Bosworth movie (he's from Texas, you know) and thought it was a cool phrase to adopt.

Wow...does this make Brian Bosworth a "racist"?

West Point actually considered the Southern Poverty Law Center as an authority on the matter?

It is time for conservatives to reclaim the "revision of word definitions" from the progressives. Progressives redefine tolerance, diversity, reproductive freedom, etc to mean "good" things (in their minds) like rejection of morals, preferences given to those who cannot do the job, and abortion. Progressives wipe out our historical record to advance their narrative. Just because some idiots adopt a saying that is applicable to normal patriotic Americans does not mean that those Patriots cannot adopt the phrase to advance their attempt to make a better society.

I don't get under what authority the coach could do this, considering the Army's own "probe" found no foundation to the charge. The SPLC has more pull than a formal Army inquiry? The Secretary of the Army should reverse this PC nonsense or join his former comrade who once was the Secretary of the Navy.

I doubt the SPLC's assertion that the motto's roots are white supremacist. If it's all because a racist group likes it, tough s--t. Grow a brain cell and respect the difference between association and causation. This is the same idiotic fallacy the Libs used to declare PDJT racist -- a racist group endorsed him. Anybody who espouses that 'reasoning' forfeits the right to denigrate another's intelligence. (And yet the 'Progressives' who embrace it love to get all snarky in accusing their Conservative adversaries of being unintelligent.)

Even more embarrassing is dancing to the tune of the thoroughly discredited Southern Poverty Law Center, which itself is an anti-Christian, anti-white hate group.
