In 2020, Trump must save the cities

In 2014, America’s progressives got a wake-up call. That year, the midterm elections returned the largest Republican majority to the House of Representatives since 1928. President Barack Obama had, by the middle of his second term, proved an ineffective or unwilling conduit for the radical transformation they’d been promised. The hope and change president, whose rhetoric breathed life into the decaying Marxism in America’s cultural institutions, had been a failure. With a new Republican Congress, any last hopes that Obama would accomplish anything significant were dashed.

We have already seen the "Save The Cities" movie. A few potholes will get filled, a couple of streets be closed off and lined with potted plants that will soon be full of cigarette butts, some really ugly sculpture will be purchased for astronomical prices, and the bulk of the money will go to bailing out near bankrupt government pension programs.

Just flew back from Chicago last night! What a Dump the area coming and going Midway Airport! I'm sure there are some good neighborhoods in Chicago, but one doesn't see them when coming from the Suburbs to fly in or out of the City. I would bet 80% of the employees at the Airport are Black, and I can tell you most of they could give a whip about doing their job or helping passengers. Hubby and I both have lived in the Burbs all our lives, so we have used the Airports in Chicago for over 50 years. Yes Midway has expanded, but it is dirty as ever inside! Employees standing around all over the place (TSA). Doing nothing! I couldn't wait to get out of there! So, WHY is it the President's job to save the cities. I think it's up to the new Chicago MAYOR, and from what I see, she is no better than the Last Mayor!

East St. Louis needs to be bulldozed, then it can be saved.

Pete Buttigieg has been outed — as someone who has worked with the Salvation Army. According to a report Tuesday in Out magazine, the South Bend mayor has several times participated in Red Kettle Ring Off for the Christmas season in the Indiana city. Out linked to reports of the annual charity in local South Bend media from 2015 and 2017, and at least one other photo from 2016 surfaced on Twitter. In 2018, he held the annual Mayor’s Night Out — an open-listening event to let residents quiz city officials — at a Salvation Army community center.

Democrats running for president may have realized they angered voters by calling for gun bans and confiscation earlier this year, because they barely mentioned the subject in their November debate. However, as Ecclesiastes 1:9 reminds us, “What has been is what will be . . . there is nothing new under the sun.” In the post-bellum South, Democrats prohibited blacks from possessing guns outright or imposed gun prohibitions selectively enforced against blacks, leaving them vulnerable to the Democrats’ Ku Klux Klan. In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the Supreme Court noted that “Blacks were routinely disarmed by Southern States after the Civil War.”

A federal appeals court panel wrestled Monday with how to handle two immigration-related legal disputes that triggered howls of protest from the Trump administration after district court judges issued nationwide injunctions to enforce their rulings. The suits — argued back-to-back in San Francisco before three judges of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — highlight the intense legal controversy that has erupted over the authority of individual judges to block U.S. government policies across the country.

Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, has filed a $435 million defamation suit against CNN over a story that alleged Nunes met with a fired Ukrainian prosecutor in an effort to dig up dirt on Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. The story — "Giuliani associate willing to tell Congress Nunes met with ex-Ukrainian official to get dirt on Biden" — was published Nov. 22. It was based on the words of Joseph Bondy, the attorney for Ukrainian-born Lev Parnas, who worked closely with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani in pursuing allegations of Ukrainian efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election as well as allegations of corruption
Dem impeachment report

Say this for Rep. Adam Schiff: His imagination is vivid and he has a flair for the dramatic. If only he had more respect for facts and a tighter tether to reality. The California attack dog is, in real life, a frustrated writer of rejected screenplays, and he’s produced another dud in the Democrats’ impeachment report. Released Tuesday, it offers nothing new of significance, but that didn’t stop Schiff from hyping the contents as something akin to the second coming of Richard Nixon. While the vast majority of Americans found something other to do than watch the mind-numbing hours of public testimony,

The House Judiciary Committee will begin impeachment hearings on Wednesday, but the individual who got the entire ball rolling won’t be present. The whistleblower is AWOL. Top House Intelligence Committee Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., pointed out on Nov. 19, “Now that the whistleblower has successfully kickstarted impeachment, he has disappeared from the story — as if the Democrats put the whistleblower in their own witness protection program.” This key figure’s absence is especially stunning, given that Democrats were for the whistleblower’s testimony before they were against it.

The British rock band The Who announced Tuesday night that it will stop in the Cincinnati area as part of its upcoming tour, performing there for the first time in 40 years since 11 people were killed in a pre-show stampede outside a concert in the city at the height of their fame. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band will play April 23 at Northern Kentucky University’s BB&T Arena. On Dec. 3, 1979, 11 people were killed and another two dozen were injured when a crowd of thousands lined up for first-come, first-serve tickets began to stampede outside what was previously named the Riverfront Coliseum.

Certain members of the media need to get out more often. They are doing that thing again where they are all saying the exact same thing. The latest fad promoted by members of the commentariat involves alleging that Republicans and Trump supporters are members of a “cult.” Edgy stuff — almost as edgy as it was in 2016. “Increasingly, President Trump’s support seems cultish,” disgraced newsman Dan Rather said on Nov. 17 during an appearance on CNN’s ironically named Reliable Sources. “These cults, cults generally don’t end well. People will say it’s too much to say it’s a cult. I don’t think so.” Later, on Nov. 24, Reliable Sources hosted

If the most recent terrorist attack in London had been an episode in a novel by a social satirist, it would have been dismissed as too crude or absurd to be plausible. Nothing like it could ever take place in reality. Last week, Usman Khan attended a conference at Fishmongers’ Hall, a grand location in Central London, marking the fifth anniversary of a rehabilitative program for prisoners called Learning Together, run by Cambridge University’s Institute of Criminology. Suddenly, Khan, wielding a knife and wearing an imitation suicide-bomber’s vest, went on a rampage, killing a graduate of the Institute who helped run the conference and a volunteer worker at the event,

There’s a hilarious parody video making the rounds that shows Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) as Wile E. Coyote trying and failing to catch his roadrunner. I'm sure it violates all kinds of intellectual property laws and CNN will mercilessly hunt down its creators. In the video, Schiff concocts scheme after impeachment scheme and they all blow up in his face. That’s what the American people are seeing in the impeachment of President Donald Trump – the Democrats have been trying to remove Trump by any means they could find since before he took office. First it was Russia! Russia! Russia!, now it’s the Ukraine phone call.

It’s one of the questions you’re not supposed to ask in public but everyone talks about in private: What’s going on with Matt Drudge? For conservatives, the Drudge Report was a one-stop shop for news on the Internet starting in the late 1990s. When Matt first broke the scandal involving the President of the United States and an intern, his place at the top of alternative media, as it was called then, was secured. As always, imitators followed. But none came close to combing as many news outlets and boiling down the essence of stories like Drudge. That was his magic – he’d plow through stories and

A viral video published by Deseret Sun photojournalist J. California Sen. Kamala Harris should never have run for president in the first place. Her ambition far exceeded her ability. She hadn’t yet established herself in the U.S. Senate. And she hadn’t exactly excelled in her previous job as California’s attorney general. There wasn’t much of a record worth bragging about on the campaign trail. After being elected to the Senate in a 2016 cakewalk, she should have spent the next three years focused exclusively on representing Californians in Congress, helping the state on such vital issues as water development, environmental protection, healthcare and homelessness. But people around her — political advisors and her sister Maya Harris
