American shoppers shelled out $9.4 billion on Cyber Monday, setting a new spending record, new data show. The total was a 19.7 percent jump from last year, according to real-time Adobe Analytics data. (Snip) The Tuesday morning total topped the $9.2 billion spending projection Adobe put out Monday evening. The company expected 30 percent of the revenue to come during the “golden hours of retail” between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Eastern time, with shoppers plunking down $11 million a minute on average during the peak hour from 11 p.m. to midnight. Tech products such as AirPods and Nintendo Switch gaming systems were among Monday’s top sellers,

Anecdotal information, but in my area, people are shopping like mad. In Hobby Lobby today I observed that some shelves were very picked over—something I’ve never seen before at this point on the calendar.

I agree with your observation, #1. It’s the same here. Also people are cheerful and that’s what happens when you actually have a job and some money in your pocket. President Trump is destroying all the memes that our former President so arrogantly proclaimed. Magic wand, indeed!

The Democrat left-wing agenda only works when everyone is poor and feeling deprived. It works best off of jealousy. The rich are rich no matter what the economy is doing, so you can appeal to someone who is unemployed by pointing at the rich guy and saying: "He has YOUR money .... so help me take it from him!". However, when everyone who wants a job gets one and then has extra bucks in their wallets, the socialist philosophy falls flat. It's a sad truism but when a poor person finally makes it big they rarely share their money! Think of all the lottery winners who keep it all or who inherit money or get a huge insurance settlement. Few help even their own relatives. Their attitude is, "I finally got mine! Now you go get yours." PS: The Drudge Report is dead to me so I don't care what he says about anything anymore.

On a side bar people are saying Merry Christmas again instead of happy holidays President Trump and the First Lady have put the Merry back in Christmas. It is truly remarkable that President Trump waved that wand that Obama said didn't exist and turned the economy around in his first three years in spite of democrats.

BREAKING: US Attorney John Durham Releases
Statement Disputing IG Report Conclusions

The DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz finally released his report on FISA abuses on Monday. The report revealed what we knew to be true all along — the FBI defrauded the FISA court and purposely omitted exculpatory information from the FISA judges in order to obtain FOUR FISA warrants on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page. Horowitz, however concluded that the FBI investigation into Trump was not politically motivated — and John Durham hit back. US Attorney from Connecticut John Durham immediately released a statement following the release of the FISA report and disputed Horowitz’s findings and conclusions.

BREAKING NEWS: The U.S. Justice Department's internal watchdog said it found numerous errors but no evidence of political bias by the FBI when it opened an investigation into contacts between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and Russia in 2016. The report by Inspector General Michael Horowitz was likely to give ammunition to both Trump's supporters and his Democratic critics in the ongoing debate about the legitimacy of an investigation that shadowed the first two years of his presidency. Horowitz found that the FBI had a legal "authorized purpose" to ask for court approval to begin surveillance of Carter Page, a Trump campaign advisor.

Seoul - North Korea insulted Donald Trump again on Monday, calling him a “heedless and erratic old man” after he tweeted that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un would not want to abandon a special relationship between the two leaders and affect the US presidential election by resuming hostile acts. (Snip) Kim Yong-chol’s statement came days after North Korea’s first vice-foreign minister, Choe Sun-hui, issued a similar threat to resume insulting Trump after he spoke during a Nato summit in London of possible military action toward the North and revived his “rocket man” nickname for Kim Jong-un. In 2017, Trump and Kim traded threats of destruction as North Korea

These are the most notable snubs in the 2020 Golden Globes nominations. (Snip) All female directors: It wasn’t just Gerwig who was egregiously passed over. Lulu Wang, who directed the “Farewell,” was passed over by the Globes voting body, as was Marielle Heller (“A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”) and Lorene Scafaria “Hustlers.” These movies didn’t direct themselves, and it’s notable that the HFPA has nominated women in the category just seven times in its 75-year history.

Riyadh - Restaurants in Saudi Arabia will no longer need to maintain entrances segregated by sex, the authorities said on Sunday, further eroding some of the world’s strictest social rules as sweeping reforms take hold. Previously, Saudi Arabia required all restaurants to have one entrance for families and women and another for men on their own. The ministry of municipalities and rural affairs announced on Twitter this would no longer be mandatory. (Snip) But Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has brought the religious establishment to heel — partly by arresting critics — and eased other restrictions, including bans on women driving and public entertainment.

The Supreme Court won't hear an appeal over a Kentucky law that forces health providers to show pregnant women ultrasounds of their fetuses before having abortions. The decision, issued Monday, means that the Supreme Court leaves intact a 2-1 ruling from the 6th Circuit that the law does not violate doctors' First Amendment rights to free speech, writing that the information gleaned from an ultrasound was "pertinent" to a woman's decision-making. At least four justices must agree to hear a case for it to be taken up by the Supreme Court. China has ordered that all foreign computer equipment and software be removed from government offices and public institutions within three years, the Financial Times reports. The government directive is likely to be a blow to US multinational companies like HP, Dell and Microsoft and mirrors attempts by Washington to limit the use of Chinese technology, as the trade war between the countries turns into a tech cold war. The Trump administration banned US companies from doing business with Chinese Chinese telecommunications company Huawei earlier this year and in May, Google, Intel and Qualcomm announced they would freeze cooperation with Huawei.

Many Americans remain nonplussed over revelations in the House Intelligence Committee’s Impeachment Inquiry Report that its chairman, Adam Schiff, not only secretly subpoenaed telephone records from President Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, but also obtained responses that detailed dates and lengths of phone calls to Trump attorney Jay Sekulow, ranking committee member Devin Nunes, and Hill reporter John Solomon. That Schiff self-disclosed this action as a rightful part of his committee’s information gathering is equally stunning. Every bit as bad, it appears that national telephone carriers AT&T and Verizon, who so tout their corporate concerns about subscriber privacy, responded to such obviously politicized demands without a whimper.

Portland, Oregon, like many cities on the left coast, is struggling with a growing homelessness crisis. But what can they do about it? One idea that’s now being floated is to change the building codes so that all new structures (including private property, not just government buildings) include spaces for people to “rest” and “feel welcome and safe.” This understandably has prospective property owners concerned, since the wording is all quite vague and suggests that they will be forced to allow the homeless to camp in and around their buildings.
