It will surely bring joy to the band’s many haters, but Coldplay will not tour in support of its new album. The reason for the hiatus should give everyone pause: Chris Martin announced that his band will not tour because of global warming. The band reasoned that its musical tours have an intolerably large carbon footprint.
As absurd as this might seem, it’s at least refreshing to see someone practice what he professes. After all, if you really believe that the world is about to end because of humanity’s use of energy, then energy-sucking frivolities such as musical tours are rightly the first thing to go.
But that’s not all.

Maybe Martin can form an Amish band.

What about the carbon footprint™ needed to make all their instruments, power the recording studio, power all the downloads, produce the devices that store their songs...What a doofus. Classic rock they ain't.

Using a model developed primarily with funding from the Environmental Protection Agency, climatologists estimate that eliminating ALL of the U.S. CO2 emissions would lower global temperatures a mere 0.11 degrees Celsius by the year 2100.
So tell me again why I should be hyperventilating in fear about global warming

The only fact about global warming/climate change that anyone needs to know is that not one of their “scientist’s” predictions of the last 50-60 years has actually come to pass. Anyone else with a track record like that would be laughed into removing themselves from their field of research.

This article, and others like it, proceed from a false premise: that carbon dioxide is a harmful pollutant. It is not.

The earth is the greatest mass murderer in history, which is why God told humanity to "subdue it." Earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, lightning, floods, landslides, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc., mankind can do nothing to stop these disasters. The earth always wins. Earth consumes everything man makes, as the Sphinx was almost completely covered in sand, and erosion will reduce the pyramids to sand. Mayan stone buildings are consumed by vegetation, whose roots will eventually dislodge stones, crack them into pebbles, and water erode them into dust. The earth eventually wins over each of us, consuming our bodies in death.

RE: Reply 3
You reported that, "eliminating ALL of the U.S. CO2 emissions would lower global temperatures a mere 0.11 degrees Celsius by the year 2100" to point how insignificant the results of such a drastic program would be. But, even more significant is the fact this is based on the premise that ALL other countries in the world would not increase their CO2 emissions in that time. Just the increase in CO2 emissions of India and China alone in that same time period would negate such a drastic effort by the U.S.

Yet there goes Ninny Pelosi and her planeload of useful idiots to enjoy the sunshine of Spain. Why don't they hold climate change conventions in North Dakota? The scam is laughable but too profitable to fail at this point. Most of those people will be drinking wine, enjoying Spanish food, cavorting in five-star hotel rooms and will probably never attend a conference.

The author makes an excellent point. If these climate change alarmists truly believed what they preach, they would be leading by example.
And they would not waste time with some of the smaller CO2 producers (the U.S.) and would go for the truly large and dangerous ones; China and India. Those two countries produce more pollution and CO2 than all other industrialized countries combined, yet they are exempted from the world saving Paris Accords.
This would be akin to having an accident and then spending your time and energy bandaging up a couple of small cuts on your arm while your femoral artery was spurting the rest of your blood all over the ground. If you want to save yourself (or the planet), you MUST go after the biggest threat first. All others are secondary.

It's not "climate change". That is a euphemism created by Climate Cooling Deniers to let them appear less silly and avoid the term "global warming" when unusually cold winters blast across Europe and North America. As the grand solar minimum leads to an icy year in 2020, watch the fear mongers attribute it to a human-generated "climate emergency" as they do flips and twists in logic to explain how a warming climate has created a colder Earth.

Thank you number six. This should be stated at the beginning of every article about climate change
