Israel has conducted several strikes on Iranian-controlled bases in Syria and Iraq in recent weeks with permission from the United States and Russia, a Western diplomatic source told a Saudi-owned newspaper Wednesday. Moscow and Washington agreed that the Jewish state could conduct these attacks on Iranian targets in order to “ensure Israel’s security,” the source told the London-based Arabic-language Asharq Al-Awsat. In recent weeks, a number of explosions have been reported in Iraqi military installations connected to pro-Iranian Shiite militias, including on Tuesday night in an arms depot north of Baghdad.

Comments:

Russia giving the OK for Israel to bomb their terrorist proxies in Syria? Russia must want some of that "crude" we are protecting in Syria.

Twitter suspended a conservative gay journalist for hate speech Monday for stating without rancor that trans murder rates are low. Andy Ngo committed the “hateful conduct” in response to a tweet by former first daughter Chelsea Clinton that said that “since 2013, more than 150 trans people have been murdered in the U.S., the majority Black transgender women,” which she called “an epidemic of violence and hate.” Not so fast, Mr. Ngo said, noting that 150 deaths over several years in a nation of more than 300 million people is hardly an epidemic.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, in a series of tweets, said Congress ought to quit the impeachment madness and take a deeper look at Joe Biden and Hunter Biden and Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings and so forth and so on — and he’s right. That’s after he called for a Senate investigation into the Bidens and Burisma and whether the money trail of one to the other led to any sort of quid pro quo with Ukraine’s government and so forth and so on — and again, on asking these questions, he’s quite right. Perception counts. If the Bidens had “Rs” next to their names, not “Ds,”

Washington - President Donald Trump is donating his third-quarter salary to help tackle the nation’s opioid epidemic. A White House official says Trump has given the $100,000 he would be paid in the quarter to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health, which oversees federal public health offices and programs, including the surgeon general’s office. The White House says the funds are being earmarked “to continue the ongoing fight against the opioid crisis.” Trump has made tackling the misuse of opioids an administration priority. More than 70,000 Americans died in 2017 from drug overdoses, the bulk of them involving opioids.

Washington - The U.S. Commerce Department on Tuesday set out a procedure to protect U.S. telecommunications networks and their supply chains from national security threats, saying it would consider whether to bar transactions on a case-by-case basis. U.S. President Donald Trump issued an executive order in May declaring a national emergency and barring U.S. companies from using telecommunications equipment made by firms posing national security risks. (Snip) Trump’s May order invoked the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which gives the president authority to regulate commerce in response to a threat to the United States.

A Babylonian retelling of Noah and the Ark on a 3,000-year-old clay tablet could be one of the oldest example of fake news, a Cambridge academic has claimed. In the engraved scripture, Ea the Babylonian god appears to suggest to Noah that he tell his helpers 'food will rain from the skies' if they help build the ark. However, Dr Martin Worthington, a leading expert on the Babylonian language, claims that the words have a double meaning. Dr Worthington discovered the trickery on the 11th tablet of Gilgamesh, dating back to 700BC, which gives the Babylonian account of the flood.

Iran plans to manufacture $11 billion worth of products in the next two years to replace some imports and help contend with crippling U.S.-led sanctions. The Islamic Republic aims to produce electrical, automobile and telecommunications goods and double exports to 15 neighboring countries in order to reach a target value of $48 billion, Reza Rahmani, minister for industry, mining and trade, was cited as saying by state-run Islamic Republic News Agency. Iran started to ban some 1,400 non-essential goods and commodities within weeks of a sharp decline in the value of the rial against the dollar last year,

In a major policy reversal that critics say will cost the city and taxpayers millions of dollars, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has abandoned his long-stated goal of getting the city’s public employee unions to pay a portion of their healthcare costs. Under contracts signed this year that were supported by the mayor, many of City Hall’s largest unions will continue to contribute nothing toward their healthcare premiums. Garcetti also backed agreements with several smaller unions, allowing those employees who had been contributing 10% of their premiums to stop paying in January.

Rescue crews used excavators to search for survivors trapped in toppled apartment buildings Tuesday after a powerful pre-dawn earthquake in Albania killed at least 14 people and injured more than 600. The 6.4 magnitude quake was felt across the southern Balkans and was followed by multiple aftershocks. In nearby Bosnia, another temblor with a preliminary magnitude of 5.4 struck southeast of the capital and rattled Sarajevo. There were no immediate reports of casualties and only minor damage in that earthquake. The quake in Albania collapsed at least three apartment buildings while people slept, and rescue crews were working to free people believed trapped.

It means that Horowitz’s discovery will discredit the bureau’s handling of its investigation into President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential election and it could make any information discovered during the course of seeking approval for the FISA and after ‘fruit of the poisonous tree,” according to numerous sources who spoke to SaraACarter.com.

Lawmakers in South Carolina want to make it illegal for doctors to operate on or prescribe hormones and possibly even antidepressants to transgender children and teenagers, according to a bill proposed last week. If signed into law, the bill would make any medical efforts toward gender reassignment impossible for anyone under 18. The legislation even aims to outlaw drugs to treat 'symptoms of clinically significant distress resulting from gender dysphoria,' including depression or anxiety that arise from being assigned a gender at birth that doesn't match a young person's identity.

The Supreme Court on Monday blocked a House committee from immediately reviewing President Trump’s financial records, after the president’s lawyers agreed to an expedited review of a lower-court ruling granting access. The court’s action signals that, even as Congress considers impeaching Trump, the court will undertake a more complete consideration of the legal powers of Congress and state prosecutors to investigate the president while he is in office. The court instructed Trump’s lawyers to file a petition by Dec. 5 stating why the court should accept the case for full briefing and oral argument.

Paris - The United States and Europe bear more than half the cost of repairing the damage already wrought by climate change, a coalition of environmental groups said Monday. Based on their historic greenhouse gas emissions, the US and EU should be held jointly responsible for 54 percent of funding owed to developing nations already dealing with extreme flooding, droughts and megastorms rendered more frequent and intense by global warming, the groups said. Gender transition can leave transgender people in a bit of a bind about their sexual desirability. While a transgender female may look, act, and feel masculine and exhibit male tendencies, she is just as female as any other female. If she is interested in either gay men or straight women, she could find herself perpetually attracted to individuals who are not going to be interested in her simply because of her vagina. The same holds true for transgender men who have retained their penises. If they are into lesbian women or straight men, those two demographics will most likely be turned off by their body parts.

’ll take the opportunity up front to double down on this post from Friday. I’d bet my life savings plus several internal organs that Pelosi will have 218 to impeach. That’s based on the simple reality that failing to do so at this point would cost Democrats more politically than proceeding with impeachment would. Voters who hate Trump would be furious and voters who like Trump wouldn’t give Pelosi and Schiff an ounce of credit for standing down in the end. The president would gloat about it every day unto eternity. Pelosi, long respected by both sides for her ability to whip votes, would be humiliated utterly.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Monday floated the possibility of an all-woman ticket if she wins the Democrat Party’s presidential nomination in 2020. While campaigning in Altoona, Iowa, Warren was asked if she plans on selecting a woman as her running mate. “It would be entirely presumptuous of me to talk about running mates,” the Massachusetts senator replied, before adding: “But I gotta say — why wouldn’t I have a woman for a running mate?” (Tweet/Video)

One poll could be an outlier, but when two resected polls find the same outcome, it’s time to realize that, most likely, something serious is going on. Rasmussen, whose own daily tracking poll revealed that 34% of black likely voters support President Trump, was initially cautious about interpreting that result, as this response to a tweet by Dineen Borelli shows: So when Mrs. @deneenborelli - a friend & an engaged supporter of @realDonaldTrump today presents a snapshot of our privacy-focused daily likely voter results, please remember, not all survey samples & collection techniques are equal or comparable. On July 25, 2019, President Donald Trump picked up the phone in the White House residence and attempted to shake down a foreign leader. Trump’s language was elliptical and soft, not direct and threatening, but his intentions were clear: He wanted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to “do us a favor.” That was Trump’s entree to his improper, indecent requests that Zelenskiy’s government undertake two investigations that would benefit Trump politically. Trump didn’t explain his motives, which of course were self-serving. First, he asked Zelenskiy to “find out what happened” with Ukraine’s supposed meddling, alongside Russia, in the 2016 U.S. election. Then there was Trump’s “other thing”: his desire that Ukraine “look into”
