After years of standing by its founding principles in the face of unjust, ugly, and unrelenting criticism from the Jacobin Left, Chick-fil-A abandoned those principles. After years of steadfast support from the cultural Right, Chick-fil-A has betrayed that support. Chick-fil-A on Monday raised the white flag in a battle it was winning by announcing it would no longer support the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA); two faith-based organizations whose religious tenets, aligning with those of Chick-fil-A, guided them in support of traditional marriage, but whose actual philanthropic activities never discriminated against anyone.

One of the most puzzling business moves I have ever seen. No sane person would think that CFA would gain more business than it would lose. One LDotter postulated that there may be young, upstart PR people in the company. In other words, brainwashed. But CFA has been so historically godly, I can't imagine them making it past the first interview. Perhaps, like my company, they have succumbed to the Rainbow coalition. Sad.

CFA sticking a shiv in the Salvation Army was a shock to me.

My annual Christmas contribution to the Salvation Army will be substantially greater this year. I haven't yet visited the newly opened first Chik-Fil-A in our area, and now I just won't go. What did they have to lose by sticking to their principles? Makes no sense at all.

Relax guys. CFA may not be giving to the SA. . . but there is nothing stopping the FAMILY that owns CFA from donating personally .
Wait until you have all the facts before you deny yourself a good lunch served by polite and efficient staff.

I used to go at least once a week, but this week I didn't even drive by to see if the parking lot was empty. Bad choice Chick-fil-a. I'm sorry to lose you.

I don't understand the need for virtue-signaling to the left, and the inability to recognize the damage it does to their business by turning off their customer base.

Sent them a note and got back a standard form letter email about some charity they support. I wrote back and asked why they are turning their back on Jesus Christ and if they think that a wise course to take just to support the gay lobby? I predict within 10 years it will be a crime to openly confess Jesus as Lord. I shall gladly do so and suffer whatever punishment they decide to hand out! The Apostles were all persecuted and killed...why should I expect better? The world is not fully in control of the Anti-Christ Spirit and the evil grows daily. There are no aliens...they are Demons! Fortunately, they quake at the name of Christ and I have no fear of them! Because Christ lives in me, they can't touch me...but people who are under their control can and will in the very near future! I'm glad I'm 65. I will either see the Lord come back or I will probably miss out on the Tribulation which is going to awful for everyone on earth!

I read that the CFA FOUNDATION has a new head and he, a liberal, is the one making the decision. How long will it take them to find out they have made a mistake?

For every Christian martyr, there were probably many more who recanted in the face of persecution. Looks like CFA recanted. The Satanic forces of the Left are gleeful over their victory.

Some can always find excuses and "explanations". Some won't buy them. It was a business decision to avoid more hassles over access to airport and campus locations.

I’m happy to see the support pouring out for The Salvation Army, one of the truly good and useful organizations.

I guess CFA is counting on their supporters to just hang in there while they trade majority us in for minority them. We are expected to separate their foundation's giving from their food, while the ones they capitulated to don't make that distinction.

Never been to one but was excited that our little city was going to finally get a CFA . Supposed to begin construction next year. Never been to one and will definitely go just to find out what all the hoopla is about(and I do love chicken). Have probably already lost a large portion of the excitement I felt - not necessarily the religious aspect but the fact that this seemingly steadfast organization has , for all intents and purposes, rolled over in service to the godless communists that is the left in this country.

I've never been to a CFA, though there are several in my area. I have lost respect for them, for whatever that's worth.

CF calculated that in the big cities there are more libs than conservatives/Christians. Abandoning the Salvation Army in those cities means more $$ in CF’s pocket. It’s alway about the bottom line.
It would have been great if they’d held fast to their principles but sadly, they’re just like all the rest except they have a really good chicken sandwich.
I won’t not eat there but I’ll never make it a priority to find one.

Their business is chicken...and they do it well. Why not stick to the chicken business and forget about the politics of it?

Years ago I stopped shopping at Target between December 1and January 1 because they banished the Salvation Army bell ringers from their property. I will increase my donation to the SA by double the amount that my husband and I would have spent at CF in 2020. REALLY tired of all the anti decency whining.

I really am sorry to hear that they folded up like this, especially with their business wildly expanding everywhere in spite of the leftist jerks. Why give up now?

This is what I tweeted to @ChickfilA:
You've alienated your strongest cultural supporters but have not even remotely appeased the passions of GLAAD and the other hostile activists. So you'll be alone.I'm getting a rotisserie chicken at Kroger, thanks. It's sad.

People are free to spend their money where they please. I eat at restaurants based on whether or not I like their FOOD. If consumers want to eat at Christian owned businesses, it is their choice!
CFA still has great food and personal service. I'm sure that will continue.
The amount of money donated by their board is significant, but it is their decision to decide whether to donate to anyone THEY chose or not. It is their business, not ours.
We have been MANIPULATED into stirring up discord by the gaystapo and their VERY WILLING propagandists in the media-- yet, people can choose whether to eat there or somewhere else.
Why not GIVE DIRECTLY to the Salvation Army and still enjoy those wonderful chicken sandwiches?

Oh yeah, and I also tweeted to @ChickfilA:
The LGBTQ bullies *demanded* that U stop contributing to 2 Christian charities, annnd...Chick-fil-A stopped. But you say you didn't cave?
Right.
My family used to go our of our way for Chick-fil-A. For us, you were the corporation with *conviction*.
Now...
you're just chicken.
