Pete Buttigieg Is Struggling
With Black Democrats. Here’s Why.

Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. has 154 endorsements from current or former black or Hispanic elected officials. Senator Kamala Harris has 93. Senator Bernie Sanders has 91. Senator Cory Booker has 50. Senator Elizabeth Warren has 43. Mayor Pete Buttigieg has six. The South Bend, Ind., mayor has surged to first place in some Iowa polls and has built a big-money fund-raising operation that is the strongest in the Democratic presidential field. But as his campaign has grown exponentially beyond the small band of loyalists who began it in January, Mr. Buttigieg has failed to demonstrate even minimal support among African-Americans and Hispanics,

Ill say it.... the black community overall, is the most homophobic group out there. Most black voters who arent wouldnt publicly admit it. Ive been saying this for months. He wont "get" the "black" vote. Period, full stop. Its not a racist statement if the observation is true.

I do not believe black voters in general are homophobic. We know, however, that older blacks are much more active in their church community and hold traditional opinions of Biblical morality. So, their disdain for "Mayor Pete" is not rooted in fear, but in disapproval of his chosen lifestyle. I say kudoes to those good people for not letting the Democrat label render Pete Buttigieg deserving of their votes.

The made-up word, "homophobic" means fear of homosexuals. I don't think people fear them but non-homosexuals hold a fair measure of disgust for their lifestyle choices and their in-your-face public promotion of it. Pete is short, unaccomplished and is some guy's wife. That does not scream "presidential material" to most people of any race.

Cory Booker is also polling much worse than expected in the black community. Perhaps voters suspect he and Petey have more in common that being mayors.

Can we agree to stop using the term HOMOPHOBIC? That means a FEAR of homosexuals. I would wager that 95% of the people who disagree with their lifestyle are not afraid of them, but are more in simple disagreement with the push to normalize something that is, by virtue of the NUMBERS, NOT normal. Islamophobia is another thing altogether as Islam has a rap sheet sufficient to justify fear. Until gays, lesbians, transgenders and the like start blowing up innocent people I am not homophobic. Never have been. However, I am in strong opposition to their agenda and much of the culture that surrounds LGBTQ groups I find highly distasteful. I think the reason demwits and liberals use the "----phobic" nomenclature is to subtly denigrate the group they are attacking. Ie., it implies cowardice and weakness. For the vast majority this is simply not the case. The cowards are the ones who do not stand up to their tactics and their agendas. Ironically, those who are NOT afraid of LGBTQ's are the ones who earn the 'homophobic' label.

I agree with #2. As the NYT confirms today, this is the Issue of Which Democrats Dare Not Speak its Name. At least until the convention. If Mayor Pete otherwise sustains his popularity, this is one issue Democrat KIng and Queen Makers will have to wrestle with in the smoke-filled rooms of Milwaukee.

I tend to go along with the previous poster here. Blacks and also Hispanics are very homophobic. A large part of it is both of those cultures are actually church going folks who know this lifestyle is against God. Another part too is they probably resent all the attacks Mayor Pete has been waging since Day 2 of his campaign against Christians all while claiming he is Christian too. Doesn't cut it Pete. Christianity doesn't brazenly go against God like you do. We tend to bend our knee and live by what He says. Not what immoral lifestyle the world wants to shove into our faces. This is why the CFA controversy is so important. They are starting to cave to a toxic and noisy minority, and it never works.

The partisan impeachment of President Donald Trump finally passed, mercifully, like a kidney stone, with Democrats grimacing helplessly during acquittal in the Senate on Wednesday. It's over. The cable news networks loved it because they love a show but there was no real drama. Americans knew for months how this would turn out. They knew Democrats didn't have the votes in the Senate. It was all about targeting select Republican senators in the next elections. The people turned off this farce of Democratic Impeachment Theater long ago. Americans aren't as dumb as some politicians think they are. They paid attention for a while. They read the transcript of his phone call to Ukraine --

Sudesh Amman was singularly unsuccessful in his wish to kill kafirs, as he put it, and thereby find himself surrounded by the ho*r al ayn — beautiful handmaidens who’ll do anything you want, frankly — in the afterlife. He had perhaps not followed the instructions in the book he had about how to stab people. Two were injured by the madman on Streatham High Road in south London; both, mercifully, should live. However, Amman was shot dead by plain-clothes policemen before he could even scream out the old ‘Allahu Akbar’ thing. The cops were already there because Amman was known to them — known very well to them.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat, suggested during an FBI oversight hearing on Wednesday that Russia is responsible for the vote-reporting issues from Tuesday’s Iowa caucuses. “I hope that the Iowa Democrats will ask for an FBI investigation on the app,” the Texas Democrat told FBI Director Christopher Wray. “I believe that Russia has been engaged in and interfering with a number of our elections dealing with the 2016 election.” Wray responded by reassuring Jackson Lee that the FBI shares her concern about Russian interference. “Certainly, we are also concerned about potential Russian interference with our elections,” Wray said.

The rich are different from you and me — they can buy themselves instant presidential campaigns. Former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg has elbowed himself into the Democratic nomination race solely on the basis of his fortune. His campaign is high-handed as only a billionaire many times over could even contemplate. He entered late, is skipping the early contests and hasn’t participated in any of the debates to date (although that will change soon, thanks to the Democratic National Committee retrofitting its rules for Bloomberg).

The bludgeoned body of 36-year-old Wilmer Maldonado Rodriguez was found Sunday outside an abandoned home in New Cassel, the Nassau County Police Department announced Wednesday. Investigators said Rodriguez in October 2018 came to the defense of two boys who were being threatened by the gang — only to be beaten with a bat and stabbed, according to Newsday.

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Pete Buttigieg is soaring – and has caught up with Democratic presidential nomination rival Sen. Bernie Sanders. That’s the story from the latest poll numbers in New Hampshire, the state that holds the first primary in the race for the White House. A Suffolk University survey for the Boston Globe and WBZ-TV released Thursday night indicates the former South Bend, Ind., mayor has closed in on the populist senator from Vermont among likely voters in next Tuesday’s presidential primary in the Granite State, with former Vice President Joe Biden slipping.

Across the United States, from cities to rural counties, police departments are confronting a recruitment crisis. “Going back to 2010, we had about 4,700 online applications. That dropped down to about 1,900 last year,” said Steve Anderson, chief of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, in a Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) report last year. Seattle’s police department reported a 40 percent to 50 percent drop in applications, while Jefferson County, Colorado’s applications plummeted 70 percent. In total, 86 percent of police chiefs nationwide reported a shortage of sworn officers, with nearly half stating that the shortage had worsened over the past five years.

Washington- Regarding the failed impeachment of our president, I have a few observations. The Democrats, led by the Hon. Adam B. Schiff, charged President Donald Trump with “abuse of power” and the risible charge of “obstruction of Congress.” The historically minded reader will remember these charges as being what Republicans in the 1930s and in the 1960s quite properly called the New Deal and the Great Society, respectively. They disapproved of what Franklin Roosevelt and old Beagle Ears were trying to do, but it is a fact that no one — not even Barry Goldwater — tried to impeach either president. Romney’s vote to convict President Trump of “abuse of power” for inquiring into the flow of money from Ukraine into the pockets of the Bidens after the appearance that Vice President Joe Biden had directly intervened in Ukrainian internal affairs either to repay the favor or shield the corruption from sunlight, is among the most degraded public acts of a generation. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is commonly referred to in Washington as a master tactician. But like the partisan impeachment fiasco and the humiliating Iowa caucus disaster, her selection of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to deliver this year’s response to President Trump’s State of the Union address was a major strategic misstep. The selection of Whitmer was a politically calculated decision to introduce a relatively new name on the national scene from a state that will play a critical role in November. The irony of Whitmer’s selection, however, is that she represents exactly what is wrong with today’s Democratic Party — unrealistic promises, massive tax hikes,
