After traveling across the United States and parts of Canada, Greta Thunberg, the sixteen-year-old Swedish climate activist, has set sail back to Europe. This time, she's hitching a ride with an Australian couple sailing around the world in a 48-foot catamaran called La Vagabonde, chronicling their travels on YouTube. La Vagabonde will take roughly three weeks to reach Spain, where Thunberg hopes to arrive in time for the next round of United Nations–sponsored climate talks. Without a doubt, Thunberg's travels across North America, which included angrily lecturing world leaders at the United Nations, have gained her fame and notoriety.

As a reference point on the "floating island made up of plastic that is larger than Mexico." stated by Greta's mother - - Mexico has an area of 761,000 square miles. If we convert this into a circular area for this "floating island" the radius required is 492 miles, so Greta and her monther believe that there is a floating island which is just under 1,000 miles in diameter, made up of plastic. Why are there no photos? Why no videos of people walking on or paddling through this "island"?
This is pure lunacy, this "floating island of plastic" does not exist in ANY DIMENSION let alone 1,000 miles in diameter. The densest places in this mid Pacific plastic "concentration" are something like a few tiny plastic fragments per gallon of water, certainly no island in any sane sense of the words. Should China stop dumping plastic in the oceans, yes, but the 1,000 mile diameter island is a pure fantasy of propagandists.
And NOBODY sees carbon dioxide, not even crazy Greta. It is entirely invisible. Most of the "smoke" people see today from smokestacks is actually steam, just water vapor.

How DARE this writer to say those with Asberger's syndrome are mentally ill.please clue yourself in. Asberger's shows in many different ways and degrees and certainly, you can have Asbergers and a mental illness at the same time.
The author needs to do more research into this subject before he puts words to print.

Hmm. Not a 'mental illness'? I would guess that a relative or friend has this condition and somebody is not willing to admit it is a "mental illness". Well, it is certainly not normal.
From an online Psychology page:
"Asperger's syndrome refers to a high-functioning form of autism. Although it was once classified as its own condition, Asperger’s is no longer an official distinct diagnosis in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). "
Clearly a mental "disorder", it is in the Manual of Mental Disorders as a form of autism. How much is that different from a "mental illness"? A distinction without I difference would be my view. Perhaps it is a difference to some.
Seems to be splitting hairs.

I have a nephew with Asbergers. He is certainly not ‘normal’. He is 25, lives at home, no job, never had a friend much less a girlfriend. Plenty smart but completely anti-social.,

45 feet is not an ocean-going vessel. Hope they have fun out there.

Apparently her mother is one of those sopranos who have resonance where other people have brains!

FTA: "Clearly, as the West abandons God and religion as outmoded concepts, many more people will become lost and adrift in the valueless societies."
As someone suffering from a lifetime of some form(s) of mental illness, it's a beautiful and unexpected way that the author hits home to Greta and her immature ilk in the last paragraph. As others have noted here, the goal of socialism, communism is a godless, dystopian environment where the only hope is death to end the endless days of state-controlled repetition. That is unless one wants to become a lifeless, soulless drone, devoid of any humanity unless this is what you chose to evolve into by giving up your common sense and free will (God given).

Too much carbon dioxide?? Plant a few trees
Too much plastic in the ocean?? This is an ecology problem. Not CC. Develop a way to collect the plastic and re-purpose it. Perhaps a few park benches or homes for third world countries.

Can you imagine being stuck on a small boat with this kid for 3 weeks in the middle of the ocean? And by the way, carbon dioxide is essential for life on earth.

No No No. You can call it Asperger's Syndrome or whatever you want. My step-daughter is among them. She is mentally INCAPABLE of fending for herself and will have to be attended to for the rest of her natural life. Fancy names like Asperger's Syndrome don't change reality. I and you certainly do not take advice from these people.

For those who might worry about this "floating plastic island", it turns out that the initial cleanup efforts are 1) finding pretty small quantities of plastic, a few square feet after scooping huge areas of ocean and
2) collecting lots and lots of little known open ocean surface dwelling species of creatures, and probably killing them if they remove them with the plastic.
An interesting set of comments and photos on the topic. I was unaware of some of these little creatures, and I used to live in Key West spent a lot of time on the ocean as a teen.

The creepy little girl's mother tells us that Greta can literally see carbon dioxide "spewing" into the air. The mother also believes that there is literal floating "island" of garbage in the South Pacific, larger than Mexico . So, the climate change lies and propaganda, along with maternal neglect have left Greta mentally ill. How much was inherited from her clearly deranged mother?
