Armed citizen puts a stop to fatal
shooting at Walmart by putting
gun to suspect’s head

Thank goodness the Duncan, Oklahoma Walmart is not a “gun-free zone.” Because an armed citizen happened to be doing his shopping Monday morning and spotted a gunman shooting, victim fatalities were limited to two people. Brandon Curtis of Concealed Nation writes: A shooting incident occurred in a Walmart parking lot this morning where a man and woman were shot and killed as they sat inside a vehicle. Immediately after, it is reported that an armed citizen, who was in the immediate area, drew his gun and put it to the head of the suspect and told him to stop shooting.

Good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun. Lives almost certainly saved. Lots of time and money saved, too.

This whole story is just making me mad!!! From all I have read, this was a domestic crime of passion -- ex husband shooting his wife and her new boyfriend. Sad, but hardly national news. Yet because it involved a shooting that just happened to be in a Wal-Mart parking lot in flyover country, the brain-dead lie-berals are using it as a shouting point to call for more gun control!!!!! Many more people were killed by gang bangers and thugs in Chicago this weekend. But because that doesn't meet the left's criteria for the right type of perpetrator, the silence is deafening!!!!

If this was indeed a "crime of passion", what evidence is there that the bad guy was going to go on a shooting spree after dispatching ex- and boyfriend? And where is the evidence that the shooter was "clearly mentally disturbed"?

Agree with #s 4, 6, 8 and others who know a real man with a gun confronts a jealous man with a gun and saves lives. THAT does not fit the narrative of ''we are coming for your guns'' the Democrats and other liberals need to tout. The gunman did the right thing (for him) since now the community will not have to finance a lengthy trial and incarceration.

Twelve died in 3 separate shootings in California over the weekend. The stories were dropped because all the incidents involved shooters of color. This shooting is deemed newsworthy by the corrupt media because of red state location, and the bad guy is white.

Actually INSIDE the Walmart is gun-free, here in Oklahoma, home of the I'm Drawing Mohammad Ranch. However, we just passed the concealed carry law. Yep, we're packing in the parking lot and it's legal to conceal it now as well. Can you guess why the murderer wasn't able to murder more people in the parking lot, Californians, New Yorkers, Illinoians? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

My wife used to think it was silly that I would conceal carry all the time. Now when shopping at Walmart I can no longer wonder off I have to stay close. I honestly believe if more sane people exercised their God given 2nd Amendment right to bear arms there would be fewer mass shootings and fewer dead. But the left has so demonized guns that most Americans are scared to death of them. With proper training and practice the fear of guns can be overcome. Agree with the above this wasn't a mass shooting but domestic violence in a Walmart parking lot.

Anybody who reports on, witnesses, or makes an arrest in a shooting involving people of color will be pronounced racist. If the cops fire any shots in the arrest it will be police brutality plus racism. Better to ignore it and not offend anybody. This was not a "Walmart shooting" it happened in a parking lot near Walmart. The store's name is mentioned several times in every article. Is a car crash involving a Camaro a "Chevrolet crash?" The press saves their sensationalism for a white man wearing MAGA clothing and using an AR-15 before they make a big issue out of it. Random killings of Chicago children do not even make the papers any more.

#4 and #6, many news media outlets have decided not to publicize when an armed private citizen stops a crime because they are antigun and do not want to permit any facts which support being legally armed to "get out there". More of the propaganda operation, nationwide, which they pretend is "news", but is very slanted. Used to be just a bias in the reporting of the facts. Now "inconvenient" facts are deleted from stories. or entire stories are just not covered - effectively, they never happened.

#7 is incorrect. Sane people don't settle domestic disputes with murder. As Professor Ernest van den Haag (longtime friend of WFB) wrote in his seminal Punishing Criminals (1973), passion is not a distinct homogeneous quality; there are degrees of it. Some crazy people are amenable to reason, at times. In fact, the shooter himself maintained enough self awareness to stop shooting others--to pause--when the Army veteran, Mr. Helton, pulled his weapon and put it to his head. That the killer proceeded to cap himself with his final round just saves Oklahoma taxpayers the expense of having to try him for double murder. #9 is correct that the Left positively salivates over a multiple shooting prefatory to more Democrat public lies about the dangers of firearms in friendly hands, and those who carry them legally. The Left don't care if you live or breathe, especially if you voted for the Bad Orange Man. They'd be perfectly willing to see you two dimensional and dead if they could damn the NRA again. Incidentally, despite the mentally disturbed claims of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors (who unanimously declared that NRA members are violent terrorists), you never hear about NRA members or concealed carry permit holders--the most law abiding American citizens of all--committing mass shootings. Despite the fervent wishes of the Left, that just doesn't happen in reality. If the worst happens to you, and a violent criminal singles you out and attacks you with deadly force (whether with a gun, knife, or any other implements of destruction), the police will not be nearby. Your only effective defense is a firearm, especially if you are physically small, elderly, or infirm. The gun is the equalizer. Nothing else will suffice, even if your martial arts skills are at or above fifth degree black belt level. Some "programmed" firearm carriers who dress around their guns each morning regard their legal weapons as Karl Malden regarded his AmEx card: "Don't leave home without it." Finally, most law enforcement officers are fully supportive of civilians with firearms, knowing that the civilian sheepdogs who carry to defend their own lives would not hesitate to come to an officer's defense if the officer was under attack and in trouble.

So, #s 13 & 22, you would agree then that this parking lot killer is not responsible for his crime due to his insanity demonstrated in committing the acts. Is that right? People do evil things, acting rationally from their viewpoint. That their acts may be "insane", doesn't mean they are.

First of all I would never be in the mindset if I had to present my pistol in a situation such as this to be so close to put a gun to the assailant's head then speak to him to "stop shooting". The citizen took a grave chance in doing that but it turned out alright. A friend of mine shot an intruder wounding him with a shotgun blast (hunting birdshot, stupid) the police when they arrived asked him why he didn't warn the perp? My friends response was "you are trained to do that but I'm not I'm protecting my family first not chatting with the intruder".

Words mean things and "insane" can be used as a legal defense. I prefer to call people who do great evil as evil people or evil doers. Do they make choices that I would never make? Yes, definitely, but is this actually "insane"? One can make the case that all violation of law is "wrong thinking", but this can be a slippery slope into "he's insane, and not responsible for his actions", which is NOT helpful. IMO, the entire point of laws and law enforcement is to protect the 98-99% of normal, non-violent, non-criminal people from the 1-2% of violent criminals. Getting distracted by "why" someone did their violent misdeed isn't helpful to prevent them from doing it again, and can lead to turning loose some violent offenders "due to mental problems, which they have recovered from". This puts the 98% back at risk, and IMO, is unacceptable. "Why" someone is violent rapidly becomes a theological question, and a distraction from keeping people safe. I don't go there much. Be armed, be safe.

I am deeply concerned that a project intending to collect plastic from the ocean’s surface, known as The Ocean Cleanup, will sweep up countless floating marine animals–collectively called the neuston–potentially putting whole ecosystems at risk. I’ve raised these concerns in an article for The Atlantic, and suggested potential changes to their system–like moving it closer to shore–that would protect the open ocean. On Thursday, The Ocean Cleanup published a blog post in reply to my concerns. I was incredibly hopeful up until this point that they would listen. After all, my efforts to raise awareness have been met with tremendous support from fellow scientists and the general public.

On Tuesday, November 19th, CNN anchor Don Lemon made a mind-boggling statement. He said, of the ongoing impeachment hearings, “I think on this one, the Republicans are on the wrong side of history, and they are the most hypocritical. I’m not a partisan. I know people think that I’m some liberal Democrat. I’m not.” He went on to say, “I don’t think the Republicans are serving themselves well.” Talk about hypocrisy! If Lemon isn’t “partisan,” neither were Hitler or Stalin. Lemon is to hypocrisy as Macy’s is to Thanksgiving Day parades. And it is the Democrats who are demonstrably damaging themselves with this carefully—if bizarrely-- orchestrated farce.

GOP Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, hammered America's ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, during Wednesday's testimony, seizing on Sondland's admission that he never heard the president or anyone else in the White House explicitly link Ukrainian aid with the opening of an investigation into 2020 Democratic candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., applauded his colleague on producing "the real bombshell" of Sondland's long-anticipated testimony and marked the moment as "game over," for the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry. That inquiry is focusing on an alleged quid pro quo between President Trump and Ukraine linking military aid and White House access to Ukraine probes beneficial to Trump.

Former Vice President Joe Biden threatened Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for launching an investigation into his activities with Ukraine while in the Obama White House, stating the Republican will “regret” the move his “whole life.” On Thursday, Graham sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo requesting documents to aid in determining whether Biden pushed for the firing of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin to squash a sweeping probe into Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy giant where his son, Hunter Biden, served as a board member. The younger Biden was compensated generously, making up to $83,000 a month for several years while on the Burisma’s board.

(CNN)The Department of Justice Inspector General's report on the start of FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election will say the probe was properly launched but lower-level employees made a series of mistakes. The investigation on the effort to obtain warrants under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act on Carter Page, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, is expected to conclude that the FBI's Crossfire Hurricane investigation was properly predicated,
