Thank goodness the Duncan, Oklahoma Walmart is not a “gun-free zone.” Because an armed citizen happened to be doing his shopping Monday morning and spotted a gunman shooting, victim fatalities were limited to two people. Brandon Curtis of Concealed Nation writes: A shooting incident occurred in a Walmart parking lot this morning where a man and woman were shot and killed as they sat inside a vehicle. Immediately after, it is reported that an armed citizen, who was in the immediate area, drew his gun and put it to the head of the suspect and told him to stop shooting.
The great equalizer. Good job.

Sounds like Wal-Mart needs to reevaluate their no gun policy.

This whole story is just making me mad!!!
From all I have read, this was a domestic crime of passion -- ex husband shooting his wife and her new boyfriend. Sad, but hardly national news.
Yet because it involved a shooting that just happened to be in a Wal-Mart parking lot in flyover country, the brain-dead lie-berals are using it as a shouting point to call for more gun control!!!!!
Many more people were killed by gang bangers and thugs in Chicago this weekend. But because that doesn't meet the left's criteria for the right type of perpetrator, the silence is deafening!!!!

I live in Oklahoma. I listened to the reports on this story on local news. Nowhere did anyone say a citizen carrying a gun stopped the shooting. This is the first I heard of this, here at this site.

If this was indeed a "crime of passion", what evidence is there that the bad guy was going to go on a shooting spree after dispatching ex- and boyfriend? And where is the evidence that the shooter was "clearly mentally disturbed"?

Seems we are getting more of the left’s propaganda than facts. They need these shootings to fit their narrative, therefore, the news is packaged in a way that it will benefit the all guns are bad zealots. OP got it right.

Meanwhile 2482 have been shot so far this year in Chicago, over 82% are/were Black, the Media doesn't report, but one parking lot shooting at Evil Walmart must be reported, leaving out that a good guy with a gun stopped the shooter.

Agree with #s 4, 6, 8 and others who know a real man with a gun confronts a jealous man with a gun and saves lives. THAT does not fit the narrative of ''we are coming for your guns'' the Democrats and other liberals need to tout. The gunman did the right thing (for him) since now the community will not have to finance a lengthy trial and incarceration.

#7, I would submit that anyone who responds to being divorced by shooting up his ex and her boyfriend in a Walmart parking lot is mentally disturbed. Sane people don’t do that.

Twelve died in 3 separate shootings in California over the weekend. The stories were dropped because all the incidents involved shooters of color. This shooting is deemed newsworthy by the corrupt media because of red state location, and the bad guy is white.

Actually INSIDE the Walmart is gun-free, here in Oklahoma, home of the I'm Drawing Mohammad Ranch. However, we just passed the concealed carry law. Yep, we're packing in the parking lot and it's legal to conceal it now as well. Can you guess why the murderer wasn't able to murder more people in the parking lot, Californians, New Yorkers, Illinoians? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

My wife used to think it was silly that I would conceal carry all the time. Now when shopping at Walmart I can no longer wonder off I have to stay close. I honestly believe if more sane people exercised their God given 2nd Amendment right to bear arms there would be fewer mass shootings and fewer dead. But the left has so demonized guns that most Americans are scared to death of them. With proper training and practice the fear of guns can be overcome. Agree with the above this wasn't a mass shooting but domestic violence in a Walmart parking lot.

Anybody who reports on, witnesses, or makes an arrest in a shooting involving people of color will be pronounced racist. If the cops fire any shots in the arrest it will be police brutality plus racism. Better to ignore it and not offend anybody.
This was not a "Walmart shooting" it happened in a parking lot near Walmart. The store's name is mentioned several times in every article. Is a car crash involving a Camaro a "Chevrolet crash?"
The press saves their sensationalism for a white man wearing MAGA clothing and using an AR-15 before they make a big issue out of it. Random killings of Chicago children do not even make the papers any more.

#4 and #6, many news media outlets have decided not to publicize when an armed private citizen stops a crime because they are antigun and do not want to permit any facts which support being legally armed to "get out there".
More of the propaganda operation, nationwide, which they pretend is "news", but is very slanted. Used to be just a bias in the reporting of the facts. Now "inconvenient" facts are deleted from stories. or entire stories are just not covered - effectively, they never happened.

Actually, #15, concealed carry with a permit has been legal in Oklahoma since 2012. The new law is just constitutional carry, where no permit is required.

So, #s 13 & 22, you would agree then that this parking lot killer is not responsible for his crime due to his insanity demonstrated in committing the acts. Is that right?
People do evil things, acting rationally from their viewpoint. That their acts may be "insane", doesn't mean they are.

I would contend that anyone who drives around Chicago shooting innocent people is "clearly mentally disturbed", yet they are not described that way. Which was likely the point of #7. Why is this deranged person identified as "clearly mentally disturbed"?

First of all I would never be in the mindset if I had to present my pistol in a situation such as this to be so close to put a gun to the assailant's head then speak to him to "stop shooting". The citizen took a grave chance in doing that but it turned out alright.
A friend of mine shot an intruder wounding him with a shotgun blast (hunting birdshot, stupid) the police when they arrived asked him why he didn't warn the perp? My friends response was "you are trained to do that but I'm not I'm protecting my family first not chatting with the intruder".

Words mean things and "insane" can be used as a legal defense. I prefer to call people who do great evil as evil people or evil doers. Do they make choices that I would never make? Yes, definitely, but is this actually "insane"? One can make the case that all violation of law is "wrong thinking", but this can be a slippery slope into "he's insane, and not responsible for his actions", which is NOT helpful.
IMO, the entire point of laws and law enforcement is to protect the 98-99% of normal, non-violent, non-criminal people from the 1-2% of violent criminals. Getting distracted by "why" someone did their violent misdeed isn't helpful to prevent them from doing it again, and can lead to turning loose some violent offenders "due to mental problems, which they have recovered from". This puts the 98% back at risk, and IMO, is unacceptable.
"Why" someone is violent rapidly becomes a theological question, and a distraction from keeping people safe. I don't go there much.
Be armed, be safe.

You have to ask yourself, how many people are alive today that would have been killed if the Democrats had already had their way and taken all of the guns away from law abiding citizens.
