Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said that if he is elected, he would give a “very, very important role” in White House to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Sanders, a senator from Vermont, said this in a joint interview with Ocasio-Cortez last week to ABC News, adding that the Bronx-Queens freshman congresswoman has ideas that “are resonating all over this country,” and: “If I am in the White House, she will play a very, very important role. No question.” “I don’t want you to hear this, because your head will explode,” Sanders said in jest to Ocasio-Cortez, before adding, “I don’t know of any person … who has had

My suggestion is that both Bernie and AOC visit their model of a success story and tour Venezuela. Not with the political class however, see the real country not the Potemkin village scene that they show to the likes of Sean Penn. Where is Sean these days? Not visiting? A "very, very important role" is just vague enough to mean virtually nothing. Sounds like Sanders, in true leftist fashion, wants whatever support AOC might bring without actually promising anything concrete in return; pretty much the way the Left has treated blacks and other constituents for decades. Besides, this is a case of snowball welcome to you-know-where when it comes to the chance that Sanders will ever have to make good on this promise.

What’s more frightening than Bernie the Red Sanders is that AOC will be able to run for President in 2028, when she reaches the minimum age requirmenr. Assuming PDT wins reelection in 2020 and Mike Pense wins in 2024, AOC could be positioned to run against Pence just as Bill Clinton successfully kept the first Bush from being re-elected under the “It’s the economy, stupid” chant. Which means that AOC has to win re-election to the House in 2020 and then position herself to run in a Dem primary for Senator against Gellibrand or Schumer. Or, to replace the equally leftist Gov, Cuomo when his 2nd term ends, NY voters, especially those in NYC, will vote Democrat no matter who the candidate is, which means that the 29 year old. AOC has a long & rising political career ahead of her, Ugh! And double ugh!

President Donald Trump lobbed a rhetorical bomb at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday after the California Democrat told reporters that she prays for the president and doesn’t hate him. Pelosi should worry about the homelessness plaguing her California district and signing legislation on trade, Trump said on Twitter. He also mocked Pelosi’s reaction after a reporter asked her on Thursday morning if she “hates” the president. “Nancy Pelosi just had a nervous fit. She hates that we will soon have 182 great new judges and sooo much more. Stock Market and employment records,” Trump told his followers. The dismissed the possibility that Pelosi prays for him.

It’s the perennial anomaly of Jewish voter surveys: Vast majorities feel an attachment to Israel, but relatively few are thinking about the Jewish state when they cast their vote. On the day of last year’s midterm congressional elections, J Street, the liberal Jewish Middle East policy group, asked Jewish voters to name their two most important issues. Just 4 percent chose Israel. The same survey found that 65 percent said they were somewhat or very emotionally attached to Israel. The J Street survey is not an outlier. The American Jewish Committee, a foreign policy and civil rights group, found a similar discrepancy in its 2015 poll, in which barely

Eight people, including major Hillary Clinton donors and a witness in the Mueller investigation, have been charged in a massive campaign-finance scheme, the Justice Department announced on Tuesday. The individuals conspired to “make and conceal conduit and excessive campaign contributions” valued around $3.5 million in the 2016 election campaign and beyond, according to the announcement. Although the indictment does not specifically name the recipient of the donations, it is clear that the contributions went to groups allied with Clinton’s presidential campaign.

The document was produced by a major international law firm and is a “lobbying manual for people who want to change the law to prevent parents having the final say about significant changes in the status of their own children,” Kirkup explains. The manual’s authors advise activists across the world to use “certain techniques,” including attempts to “get ahead of the government agenda.”

This week, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee trotted out a trio of dispassionate legal experts to explain why the impeachment of Donald Trump was justified. They were there to bring a veneer of gravitas and erudition to what’s been, until now, a highly partisan affair. But however smart people such as Michael Gerhardt, distinguished professor of constitutional law at University of North Carolina, might be, they aren’t immune from peddling partisan absurdities. Once Gerhardt argued that Trump’s conduct was “worse than the misconduct of any prior president,” we no longer had any intellectual obligation to take him seriously on the topic.

This week, Paul Krugman of The New York Times posited a theory: Red states cause depression and suicide. In a column titled "America's Red State Death Trip," Krugman wrote: "In 1990, today's red and blue states had almost the same life expectancy. Since then, however, life expectancy in Clinton states has risen more or less in line with other advanced countries, compared with almost no gain in Trump country. At this point, blue-state residents can expect to live more than four years longer than their red-state counterparts." On this basis, Krugman blasts Attorney General William Barr, who suggested earlier this year that militant secularism lies behind rising

President Donald Trump likes to say he’s going to win so much, you’ll get tired of winning. Maybe Democrats have taken the president too literally. The Democratic Attorneys General Association is leading the charge to excise all abortion moderates from the good graces of the party. It announced it will not endorse or assist any candidates who do not support unfettered abortion access. While state AGs may not seem incredibly relevant, they are an important stepping stone toward governors’ mansions in many states. So, considering the Democrats’ weak bench for plausible candidates in red states, the decision not to compete for attorney general is significant.
