Commissar Schiff says 'nyet' to GOP witnesses

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is taking his "Soviet-style" impeachment to another level. After first setting the House rules to allow himself alone to say which witnesses can appear before his committee hearings, now going public, he's now vetoing one by one pretty much every witness being called by the GOP to present some kind of defense of President Trump. Here's his list of eight who are being blocked by Schiff, via CNN's report on Mark Levin: In a letter to Schiff earlier Saturday, Republicans had listed the anonymous whistleblower, Hunter Biden, former US special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker, high-ranking State Department official David Hale and Tim Morrison,

Much like CNN and MSNBC, Adam Schiff and Democrats will tolerate NO OPPOSING OPINION to come from this Star Chamber. I do not understand why Republicans are allowing this charade to take place in America's Capitol Building, but it's how they act each time in the face of Democrats. Too much of "my good friend across the aisle BS."

I don't understand why the Republicans put up with this nonsense, Protest the hearings, be loud and disruptive, make Schiff have to gavel constantly, show the hearings as the joke they are. What is Schiff gonna do? Call the sergeant at arms? To do what? He cannot arrest you. And if he ejects one Republican from the hearing, they all walk out. Schiff has NO POWER unless you give it to him.

It is no surprise that Schiff has nixed all of the people Republicans put forth, or that the swarmy Eric Swalwell (note how he is again on EVERY show, almost joined at the hip with both Schiff and Pelosi...NEVER misses a photo op) but extremely disheartening to see Jim Himes, Ct., also hitting the circuit with his totally irrational comments......the man is a lawyer and not dumb, so this is an absolutely conscious effort on his part to take Trump down, and since he, unlike Schiff or Swalwell, looks reasonable, he is out there fulll force. Disgusting.

I find it hard to believe that most democrats are going along with this. Out here in flyover country, they are generally pretty decent people who love America as much as we do. They just have a slightly different idea of what our goals should be and how to achieve them. Its in DC where the communist party seems to reign supreme in both camps. I recently wrote to my Rep (a republican) about taking a more aggressive stance against these corruptocrats. He probably wont.

In the case of undoing the the privilege of a congressional minority to filibuster except for a super-majority vote for closure, Dems screwed themselves when they opened the door to votes which bypassed closure through the 'nuclear option'. In the same way Dems (Schiff) are dangerously opening the door for future representatives to mess with a House minority by forbidding contrary opinions to be expressed. What goes around, comes around......

In 2021, democrats will rue the day when they created these news rules and procedures. Like another poster said, the democrats never learn and can't see past their immediate desires. What goes around, comes around, and it usually gains momentum!

After the Democrats in the House vote to impeach in a party line vote, there is absolutely no reason why the Republicans in the Senate need to move immediately to a trial. First, the Senate should conduct full and complete discovery. To be completely fair, the Senate should adopt the same rules as the House did, i.e., the Majority (the Republicans in the Senate) should have complete control over which witnesses are called, what documents are subpoenaed, which testimony should be public or private, and what transcripts should be released. The Minority (the Democrats) should only be permitted to call witnesses that are approved in advance by the Majority. That should suck all the air out of the room through the primary season. Then the Senate can have a trial, at the conclusion of which President Trump will be acquitted of all charges (again in a party line vote) just in time for the party Conventions.

I think republicans should have their witnesses on board and ready to testify. When it is their turn to call a witness, they should do it. MAKE Schiff forbid the witness to be questioned on LIVE TV. Do it, over and over! They don't have to roll over and play dead, they can play their own game and win if they force Schiff to be in the position of Judge and Jury! He's not a likeable guy to start with, so make him be the Bad Guy!

Even as Progressives double down on their claim that Trump was somehow responsible for the Iranians shooting down a passenger plane, Iranian protesters are rising up against their government because Trump has told the truth and is actively supporting them. In mid-2009, shortly after President Obama took office, Iran had its own presidential election. Voters believed (reasonably) that the election was rigged and started protesting. For months, hundreds of thousands of people were on the streets in protest. Over nine months, the government arrested at least 10,000 people and killed over 100. Never once did Obama give the protesters a single word of support. Obama’s silence was deadly.

Royal aides and Government officials have drawn up a range of scenarios setting out the ‘stark implications’ faced by Harry and Meghan if they abandon or dramatically scale back their royal duties – including a major tax trap. In what sources described as a ‘reality check moment’, Harry will travel to Sandringham for a showdown with the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William. Meghan is expected to join by phone from Canada, where she is caring for their eight-month-old son, Archie.

Around 13,000 people will be evacuated from their homes after unexploded World War II bombs were discovered in a German city, authorities believe. Officials suspect the bombs were dropped on Dortmund by Allied forces during World War II. The city - in Germany's industrial Ruhr region - is to be brought to a standstill after the evacuation affecting retirement homes, hospitals and the main train station. In an online statement, Dortmund city hall said they had identified four locations where they suspect the bombs are buried. The suspicions were based on 'anomalies' detected during construction projects, the statement said. 'Only an excavation' could confirm the existence of bombs, it added.

Late last year Chick-fil-A ruffled feathers across the fruited plain when they announced they would no longer provide charitable donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Salvation Army. Both organizations had faced years of withering attacks from sex and gender revolutionaries who were angered because the two renowned Christian ministries affirmed the biblical definition of marriage. So when Chick-fil-A made their decision public, many Christians accused the company of backing down to a bunch of militant LGBTQ bullies. And in response many of Chick-fil-A's staunchest supporters flew the coop.

McConnell (R-Ky) echoed the warnings of Senator Lindsey Graham, who earlier this week said Pelosi needs to put up or shut up. Mitch made the announcement during a closed-door lunch Thursday as more Democrats pressure Pelosi to turn over the articles, calling her gambit a waste of time. McConnell alerted Republicans that “they should not expect to be able to go home next weekend, indicating that the long-delayed trial will be underway,”

If Democrats can't stop howling that President Trump's killing of Iranian terrorist chieftain Qassem Soleimani was some kind of failure that would mean war, maybe they should ask the terrorists on the ground over in Iraq. If they can find them. Turns out they're running for their lives. Sara Carter has an important bit of news about how they're taking it: U.S. officials have intercepted chatter and received confirmation that terrorist leaders in Iraq have been fleeing the region and have gone into hiding fearing United States intelligence capabilities after the successful airstrike that killed Iranian Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani, according to multiple sources that spoke to

President Trump entered office promising to change the rules so that the number of people receiving benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (better known as “food stamps”) would shrink. Trump finally made good on that promise in December, but his act was almost redundant, for recently released numbers show that his strong economy had already shrunk food stamp rolls. Barack Obama got the nickname “the food-stamp president” because food stamp usage reached unparalleled heights during his administration. In his first two years in office, 12 million people were added to the already 28 million people receiving food stamps. By the time he left office,

Recently, President Donald Trump authorized the killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. Democrats responded with fear that Iran would become angry and retaliate. They must have seen the television show The Incredible Hulk. In that show, the Hulk's alter ego, Dr. David Banner, said, "Don't make me angry. You won't like me when I'm angry." The audience knew he could transform into an angry creature with enormous strength. The Democrats must see Iran as such a creature. The truth is that when someone becomes angry, his strength remains the same, but his thoughts become irrational. The one who holds his temper has the advantage.

The president accused the Democrats of standing up to defend Iran instead of supporting Trump’s decision to take out Soleimani. “We’re having people like Nancy Pelosi, that’s a real genius, can you believe that one?” he asked. “Nervous Nancy.” He called House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff “little pencil neck.”

For most of the twenty-first century, the world’s oldest surviving democracy has been led by a chief executive who received fewer votes than his opponent in an election for the position. The first of these executives started a war based on false pretenses that killed hundreds of thousands of civilians. The second — a serial abuser of women who hired as his campaign manager a lobbyist for violent dictatorships - authorized an immigration policy that forcibly separated migrant children from their families and indefinitely detained them in facilities described as “concentration camps.” Democracy, as they say, is messy.
