President Trump announced Saturday night that his administration would no longer consider his personal resort in Doral, Florida to host the 2020 G7 summit in Miami, and suggested he might consider Camp David. "Based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020," the president tweeted. "We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you!" Donald J. At least President Trump is flexible enough to have reconsidered, as even though he intended to essentially donate his property to the US Government at cost to hold the G-7 Conference with the Trump Organization earning no profit, for sure the Democrats would have been pushing the appearance of a conflict of interest button 24/7 all the way through the 2020 election. While that property may well have been the perfect venue for that conference, as long as Trump is President it was not a good idea.

I was driving and listened to the press conference. Fox is cherry picking and leaving out facts. Mulvaney was asked what the difference was between the Biden family members serving on Corporate boards when they had no experience in that industry and the G7 being held at a Trump family property. His answer in part pointed out that the Trump family had been wealthy and successful prior to entering public service. The MSM, even Fox, has such animus for this President that they cannot tell the whole story. I'm disgusted and will find my news online from outlets I choose from now on!

CNN military analyst and retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling criticized former Secretary of Defense James Mattis for making jokes about President Trump during the Al Smith Memorial Foundation dinner. Mattis joked about how Trump called him the "world's most overrated general." "So I'm honored to be considered that by Donald Trump because he also called Meryl Streep an overrated actress. So I guess I'm the Meryl Streep of generals, and frankly that sounds pretty good to me," he said on Thursday.

President Donald Trump called former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis “the world’s most overrated general” during a tense White House meeting Wednesday with lawmakers over the growing Syria/Turkey conflict, according to sources familiar with the meeting. The incident wasn’t the first time Trump has attacked the popular former Marine Corps general, once one of his most highly praised Cabinet officials. But since Mattis announced his resignation from the top Defense Department job last December, the president’s view of Mattis has increasingly soured.

This is interesting on the merits but also interesting in that two of the most powerful platforms in right-wing media are promoting it. I suppose one could argue that Trump handing the G7 to his own business isn’t a textbook emolument since it doesn’t really function as a bribe, which is what the constitutional ban is all about. We don’t want the president receiving fat envelopes from foreign dignitaries for fear that that’ll influence his views on foreign policy.

As The Hill notes, Planned Parenthood is planning to make a major investment in the 2020 election. The abortion conglomerate’s super PAC announced that it would be spending upwards of $45 million to unseat Republican politicians and replace them with Democrats. More from The Hill: The investment will fund a “large-scale” grassroots organization and canvass, digital, television, radio and mail programs. “The stakes are higher than ever, and we’re coming out more powerfully than ever with the largest investment we’ve ever made,” said Kelley Robinson, executive director of Planned Parenthood Votes, in an interview with The Hill. …

It’s amazing how a guy with zero experience in certain fields kept getting jobs in certain fields. And I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that his father was conducting foreign policy in the same places, right? But don’t ask questions, because Chuck Todd might have an aneurysm. We’ve already heard about Hunter Biden’s lucrative dealings in Ukraine. Then there was the bribery scheme in China involving a guy under indictment. Now, we are finding out that he advised a guy headed to prison in Romania while not being registered as a foreign agent.

Mitt Romney could turn out to be the 2020 version of Evan McMullin. Last week some signals were sent that may indicate Romney is considering it. Remember Evan McMullin? He’s the former CIA officer who ran as a third-party candidate in 2016. He claimed to be a conservative alternative to Donald Trump. He failed miserably and even placed third in total votes in his own state of Utah.

Former Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake made a bold claim on Thursday when he said "at least 35" GOP senators would privately vote for President Trump's impeachment. Appearing at the 2019 Texas Tribune Festival, Flake, a frequent critic of the president, offered his own reaction and predicted that close to three dozen Republican senators would back impeachment. "I heard someone say if there were a private vote there would be 30 Republican votes. That's not true," Flake said during a Q&A. "There would be at least 35."

No, this is not from the Babylon Bee. It actually comes from the Oprah Winfrey Network, and a segment featuring Professor Britney Cooper, who sports a PhD from Emory University and who currently is an associate professor in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University.
