Freshman Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA), Vice Chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, shared with Elle in a June 2019 interview a quote from the late Rep. Elijah Cummings, Chairman of the Committee “that has stuck with her.” In one of those first meetings, Hill says, Cummings said something that has stuck with her. “It [was] that our role on Oversight is to get to the truth and to follow the truth wherever it leads us and to expose that for the American people,” Hill tells me over the phone. “To make sure that they have the information that they should have to, frankly, evaluate their government.”

You really have to wonder about Ca. voters, as well as voters in other states. There is a big difference between being for stable Lesbian or Gay relationships and being for ANYTHING candidates, gay or straight, do just because you are virtue signaling. This woman appears to be opportunistic trash, and yet she is elected. But then, Ca. voters have re-elected Adam Schiff and the almost in the grave but still nasty Diane Feinstein on a regular basis. And how about Nancy Pelosi.

May Cummings rest in peace. If what she remembers so vividly then how is it that the committee did not pursue the truth about the Obama Administration corruption to it's end, nor the Hillary e-mail corruption to it's end, or perhaps the weaponized FBI or IRS. Hypocrites who only pursue the truth about the wrongdoing that they invent about the opposition party. One can only assume that Katie Hill is playing the same game or that if she is on the up and up, she will be kicked off the committee.

A 12-year-old Overland Park girl formed a gun with her fingers, pointed at four of her Westridge Middle School classmates one at a time, and then turned the pretend weapon toward herself. Police hauled her out of school in handcuffs, arrested her and charged the child with a felony for threatening. Shawnee Mission school officials said they could not discuss the case, citing privacy laws, but did say it wasn’t the district that arrested the child. “We don’t do that,” said spokesman David Smith. “That is not our job.” He said the role of the district police is “not to enforce the law but to keep kids and adults safe.”

The number of acres burned in California through the beginning of August 2019 is 26 times less than the number of acres burned at the same point in 2018, according to new statistics from Cal Fire. Though to be fair, Scott McLean, a fire captain with Cal Fire, said 2018 was a record year for acreage burned in California at 1.8 million acres burned by wildfires. Sewage is a scourge for residents of this community on the outskirts of Uganda’s capital, Kampala. There are no public toilets for some 1,200 people. The Air Force has begun to look at whether there’s increased risk for prostate cancer among its fighter pilots. A new investigation by McClatchy shows just how serious the problem may be. The fighter pilot study was requested by Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. At the heart of the Air Force study was a question of whether extended exposure in the cockpit to radiation may be linked to increased risk of prostate cancer.

On Sunday, a man living in the Queens borough of New York City discovered a perfectly wrapped and seemingly untouched In-N-Out burger sitting in the middle of the street. Boehm, originally from Santa Monica, Calif., said he and his wife were heading to a McDonald’s before catching their train at the Jamaica Long Island Railroad station when they found the burger.

It actually comes from the Oprah Winfrey Network, and a segment featuring Professor Britney Cooper, who sports a PhD from Emory University and who currently is an associate professor in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University. With that sort of background, perhaps it isn’t surprising to eternalize blame for obesity on racism and seem to indict President Trump for it. (snip) While this is all funny, it is also tragic.
