Shepard Smith leaves Fox and its Trump's fault...or not

“Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave Fox News and begin a new chapter.” After 23 years at Fox, that Smith would want to do something else, the mainstream and social media denizens are blaming Trump for the anchor’s departure. After traveling the world, including war zones, as a correspondent, Donald Trump’s criticism is going to have him throwing away a lucrative gig at the top cable news network. Smith has been critical of the President and they have had a bit of feud going on. “Is he leaving? Oh, that’s a shame,” Trump says to reporters when learning of Smith’s exit.

Shemp had a problem separating fact from fiction, opinion from news. He will be right at home on CNN where "truth" (ie, what we say it is) trumps facts. Next, I hope will be Napolitano.

The erasure of the Republic: Liberals are regressive, not progressive 0 replies
Posted by BigAlPeoplesPal 10/13/2019 2:18:13 PM Post Reply
The time between 1890 and 1920 was known as the Progressive Era. It was a time when Americans demanded responses to a number of economic and social problems. These problems were brought about by the transformative Industrial Revolution (IR). The IR propelled the US to have the world’s largest and most prosperous economy. It was remarkable since the US went from the birth of the nation to the most prosperous in less than 150 years. Other countries were hundreds or even thousands of years older. But with the prosperity and a much higher quality standard of living came some economic and social problems.
Truth behind Turkey, Kurdish Syria and US troops media misconceptions 3 replies

There are a lot of confusing, misleading reports regarding the erupting situation in Syria involving U.S. troops, Turkey, and Kurdish Syrian People’s Protection Units (YPG) fighters. Turkey has now followed through with its offensive to militarily resettle Sunni Arab refugees into a contested border zone. This move draws opposition from the Kurd majority occupying the north-eastern Syrian territory. Arabs and Kurds are family-based cultures with similar customs. Some observers point to a dysfunctional and rapacious leadership in both sects as causing strife between them.

Political Parentage? The Ukraine's enrichment of Pelosi and Biden's sons 8 replies

Unfortunately, the force for personal and family enrichment is strong with Democrats. Nevada’s Reid has a history of enriching nepotism. Like Paul Pelosi Jr., son of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Then there is Hunter Biden. Reports are that the Biden son’s firms benefited by more than $2 million in lobbying fees from special interests that were represented by the kids. What is most interesting is Paul Pelosi Jr.’s foray into the Ukrainian energy business. Paul Pelosi Jr. was an executive of a gas industry company that did business in Ukraine – and his mother Nancy Pelosi was featured in one of the company’s promotional videos

My needs for iPhones are modest: the ability to take and receive calls, including video calls; a good quality camera; access to a very small number of apps; and enough memory to make it all work. That’s it. My iPhone 6 does the job. I don’t need 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 or any of their variants. In fact, my iPhone 5 was adequate. I have 6 only because one of my brothers gifted it to me. Shortly after an automatic software update, my iPhone 6 could receive calls and texts only on my home network or other local wi-fi spots.
Pat Cipollone, Trump's lawyer, to Dems: Drop Dead! 5 replies

No wonder many Capitol Hill Republicans hate President Donald Trump. He’s not your typical Republican. That’s to say, he doesn’t roll over and play dead when Democrats and their hip-pocket pals in the fake-news media come after him. In fact, he relishes a good fight. One where he gives better than he gets. And so does his legal team. In fact, Trump’s lawyer, White House counsel, Pat Cipollone, has essentially told the Democrats’ Impeachment Partygoers to drop dead. Meanwhile, heedless Congressional Democrats continue to gear up for pointless impeachment inquiries.

Still no recession for the Trump economy, despite mixed economic signals 4 replies

Recent data indicates the manufacturing sector is slowing. The service sector is growing slowly, and the stock market has been tanking recently. Interest rates are falling and unemployment is at a historic low. Yet there’s still no recession in sight. Even with all the mixed economic signals, we’ve been getting. So with this contradictory barrage of facts and speculation bombarding the daily news wires, what’s really ahead for the US economy? Wages are rising faster than they have in decades, increasing by more than 3% annually. Inflation remains below 2%, so the wage increases exceed inflation which gives consumers more real purchasing power.

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s very public two-year investigation into Russia collusion failed to produce evidence that any American cooperated in so-called Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. For two years, Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff steadfastly maintained they had irrefutable evidence that President Donald Trump was an agent of Russian President Vladimir Putin. But these claims, which the media reported as “bombshells” proving the “walls were closing in” on the Trump administration, turned out to be lies.

I’m weighing in this morning with a (hopefully) short column on what promises to be a chaotic week for US stocks and bonds. This week we’ll be swamped with both as the Democrats’ Impeachment-gate kabuki gets more intense and silly and as US negotiations on China trade roadblocks get underway. That means, buckle-up, stock fans. Rough road ahead. Today’s predictable morning mess is based in part on the current chapter of the ongoing Trump Impeachment-gate charade. Poor-loser Democrats have had their knickers in a tight knot from the moment Trump won Election 2016. Headline corrected**

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed 15 gun-related bills into law Friday, tightening the state's already-stringent Second Amendment restrictions. One of the bills, which expands a so-called "red flag" law to allow co-workers, employers and educators to seek gun violence restraining orders against firearms owners they fear are a danger to themselves and others, was vetoed twice by Newsom's predecessor, Jerry Brown. Newsom also signed a companion bill allowing the gun violence restraining orders to last one and five years, although the gun owners could petition to end those restrictions earlier. The bill also allows judges to issue search warrants at the same time as they grant the orders.
