We have several developments regarding Pelosi’s star chamber impeachment polka: first off, the feckless Trey Gowdy has joined the president’s legal team. This is not confidence-inspiring. Trump should have hired Lionel Hutz or Unfrozen Cave Man Lawyer rather than Gowdy. We all remember what a bang up job Gowdy did on Benghazi. He’s one of those pod people in congress who gets on camera and talks a lot of smack and sabre-rattles but in practice there’s a complete failure to launch.

I think the author is underestimating Gowdy. I trust the President’s judgment.

Didn't have to read the article, agreed with the headline and short synopsis!

If the purpose of hiring Gowdy is to have someone as boisterous as the President, then mission accomplished.
Expecting Gowdy to actually get some results, then the author is on point. There should have been firings and jail time for what went on in Bengazi. Gowdy was a total failure. Good luck Mr. President.

Let's see if the yapping, ankle-biting rat terrier can accomplish something for once.

I hope the President is right on letting Gowdy join his team. I question Gowdy's committment to getting anything actually done.
Perhaps Gowdy was blocked and frustrated by others to the point that nothing was accomplished, perhaps in spite Gowdy's best efforts, or perhaps it was because Gowdy didn't really want to get anything accomplished.
It is impossible to tell from a distance with all the corrupt thugs running around lying.

I would suggest Trey Gowdy contact John Solomon, Sara Carter, and read CTH so he can be privy to information he may not be aware of yet.

Gowdy knows things. As a congressman, he has had access to a lot of information and been in meetings that no outside counsel has had.
Regardless of his performance, this is valuable knowledge. And Gowdy is part of a team, he is not acting alone. And he supports POTUS.
I think Trey Gowdy is a good choice. Although, I do agree with other poster's frustration with the man.

The author is sort of a funny duck. Having read a number of her articles, I have questions about where her loyalties lie.

Let's get ALL the facts on what Benghazi represented before we unleash on Gowdy's lack of results as committee chair...Running weapons via DOE, DOD and others.

Trump hired Gowdy as a tv lawyer to help with his public messaging. We will see how he does.

Bingo! That's why he was hired. To smack the Democrats and their Fake Impeachment in front of the camera.
He wasn't hired by Trump to be on his legal team....just his PR team.
And a good choice it was

I totally agree with Shields. Every time one wanted to see results, there was a lot of noise when on camera, later no results. Gowdy is only out for personal gain in my book!

Gowdy was terminated from FOX. I bet Paul Ryan had some input in that decision.

Well, at least Trump has locked up Gowdy as his counsel so he can't betray him on Fox News.

The doom criers cry doom!! Trump knows nothing, he MUST listen to ME ME ME. He knows nothing about the people he hires. Well, you know what? Trump has better info than I do, He's also smarter than I am(that goes triple for EVERY pundit). So, sorry my panties shall remain unbunched.

I'd take Gowdy any day of the week over the likes of Pelosi, Shiff and Schumer + plus too many more to list.

Re #15, I keep forgetting that - and blaming Lachlan Murdoch. You just know that Paul Ryan is trying to use Fox News for his personal mouthpiece. The first thing he did when he became speaker of the House was to hire his own “communications team” to “get his message out”...
