Matt Drudge's foray into respectability has made him an unreliable -- indeed, downright misleading -- source of news. But the good news is there are alternatives to the Alternative Left Reality the Drudge Report now calls home. As a news vulture, I am on a constant search for news when online. Most bloggers are. Terry Ponick of Communities Digital News spoke for many of us in a column in which he enumerated his top sites for news. His rules are:   *Report the news in a true or reasonably true manner   *Report/comment on stories the so-called mainstream media bury so you can’t see them

Comments:

Read on. Very interesting stuff. Ponick’s first article (there will be more as he goes on to different news site categories) was posted here yesterday from CDN.

Drudge is hyperventilating over this Dem impeachment drama. It's clear by the type of articles he makes bold red color that he's turned "Never Trumper," or that he's turned scared the Dems willl make good on threats to regulate him.

Drudge used to be my go-to, to search for news. Very disappointing, these days. I'd like to know if the change was due to a personal dislike of Trump, investors putting pressure on him, or blackmail. Liberals will use any of those levers at will.

I used to go to THE DUDGGE REPORT first and read all the links. Now that the site is overrun with Left Wing propaganda, I just peek at it once a week to see if anything has changed. I leave it if I see it still has hysterical headlines favoring the Left. That means I spend less than one minute a week on that site.

Agree with other commenters about the almost schizophrenic turn Drudge has taken. Rarely go there anymore either. Fortunately, unlike several other sites I used to frequent, Ms. Lucianne has not allowed hers to deteriorate into a saloon. Has anyone else noticed that AT seems to be attracting some new unsavory posters and a lot of trolls? Now I read their articles only when they're posted here. Will join others in giving Whatfinger a look-see.

Kurdish officials in Syria on Thursday accused the invading Turkish army of shelling the Chirkin prison, which is filled with captive Islamic State jihadis from 60 different countries. (Snip) “These attacks on prisons holding ISIS terrorists will lead to a catastrophe the consequences of which the world may not be able to handle later on,” said a statement from Kurdish authorities, alluding to their warnings that Turkey’s invasion will leave them unable to properly garrison the prisons, resulting in mass Islamic State jailbreaks. A spokesman for the Kurdish-led Syrian Defense Forces (SDF) described Chirkin as “the place where the most dangerous jihadists are held.”

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign sent a scathing letter to New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet for running an op-ed by author and Breitbart senior contributor Peter Schweizer, which laid out the former vice president’s pattern of corruption and calling for the federal government to investigate his dealings in both China and Ukraine. The Biden campaign sent its letter to Baquet Wednesday, expressing outrage for printing “a baseless conspiracy theory” and calling Schweizer, author of the book Secret Empires, a “right wing polemicist.” While half of Schweizer’s op-ed in the Times addressed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao’s China ties,

John Durham, the U.S. attorney tasked with investigating the origins of the counterintelligence investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign in 2016, is expanding his probe to include “a post-election timeline,” Fox News reported on Tuesday. Durham—who has a reputation for being a “hard-charging, bulldog” prosecutor— has also added agents and resources to the case, multiple senior administration officials told Fox. Previously, it was understood that Durham was only reviewing U.S. intelligence activities during the 2016 election up to the inauguration. Now, based on his findings, Durham has reportedly expanded his investigation to include a time period that runs through “the spring of 2017, up to when Robert Mueller was

Like a reluctant bride mumbling vows written by her eager but unwelcome groom, Nancy Pelosi read the words House intelligence committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D.-Calif.) probably wrote to further aggrandize his shiny new Ukraine hoax. “We do place ourselves in a time of urgency and the threat to the Constitution, a system of checks and balances, that is being made.” Although Speaker Pelosi didn’t specifically identify the provision of the Constitution currently being threatened, it’s not hard to see what really has Washington so upset. Donald Trump has threatened the 28th Amendment to the Constitution. (Snip) it might read, “Thou shalt not mess with another swamp creature’s side-hustle.”

Against new information that U.S. Attorney John Durham has lengthened the time-frame for this investigative inquiry into the DOJ and FBI activity around the 2016 election, earlier today Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo revealed (and President Trump tweeted) the FISA report by Michael Horowitz will be released on Friday October 18th. If that time-frame for the IG report is accurate, that means the classification review has been completed; any remaining classified information not specifically authorized in the inspector general report, a decision granted to AG Bill Barr, would be placed in a classified appendix that is not available to the public.

Immediately following his chat with an unidentified White House official about President Trump’s telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,” the so-called IC whistleblower wrote what Fox News described as a “dramatic personal memo,” alleging that the White House official characterized the call as “crazy” and “frightening.”

If the #Resistance had a motto it would have to be “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” The Washington establishment and their cheering section wearing pajamas in mom’s basements across America have been trying to remove President Trump from office since the moment he was elected. First they went for a recount in Michigan. That didn’t change the outcome, though it did uncover an inconvenient truth—the number of votes counted in Detroit exceeded the number of registered voters. There is a lot to unpack in a decision today by the Director of National Intelligence to declassify (with redactions) a 2018 FISA court ruling about ongoing unauthorized database search queries by FBI agents/”contractors” in the period covering 2017/2018. BACKGROUND: In April 2017 the DNI released a FISA report written by Presiding Judge Rosemary Collery that showed massive abuse, via unauthorized searches of the NSA database, in the period of November 2015 through May 2016. One aspect heavily monitored by CTH surrounds frequent redactions to ongoing DOJ releases that touch upon former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. An additionally annoying thorn would be the continued holding-back of Rosenstein’s expanded scope memos authorizing the expansion of Mueller’s special investigation. [They remain hidden] The reason Rosenstein’s behavior remains a high-priority is simply because without his ongoing participation and authorization in 2017 and 2018 the Weissmann/Mueller probe would not have been able to continue. Rosenstein is a central character to all events, and at the end of the Mueller investigation -through today- the DOJ continued to black out any information that evidenced Rosenstein’s duplicitous activity.

Washington - Each state in America has an official state bird, usually an iconic species that helps define the landscape. Minnesota chose the common loon, whose haunting wails echo across the state’s northern lakes each summer. Georgia picked the brown thrasher, a fiercely territorial bird with a repertoire of more than 1,000 song types. But as the planet warms and birds across the country relocate to escape the heat, at least eight states could see their state birds largely or entirely disappear from within their borders during the summer, according to a new study.

As the Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result
