Houlton Sector Border Patrol agents arrested four Brazilian migrants who initially entered the U.S. legally but overstayed their visas.
Rangeley Station Border Patrol agents received a tip about suspicious activity near a Walmart store in Farmington, Maine. Agents responded to the area where they encountered two Brazilian migrants. During an interview with the migrants, Border Patrol agents learned the two men entered the U.S. legally on B1/B2 tourist visas more than 11 years ago, according to information obtained from Houlton Sector Border Patrol officials.
Further investigation led to the discovery of two more Brazilian migrants residing at a local hotel. The agents made the discovery after transporting the first two migrants

Former Attorney General Eric Holder spoke out defending the Obama administration from critics on the far-left about its deportation efforts while warning 2020 presidential candidates that the U.S. needs borders.
“The emphasis there was on people who had criminal records, people who posed a danger, a public safety risk,” Holder, who served under former President Obama, said of the Obama administration’s policy in a CNN interview released Saturday.
“Democrats have to understand that…borders mean something,” he added.
In the interview, Holder expressed disagreement with some 2020 Democrat candidate proposals to make illegally entering the U.S. a civil rather than a criminal offense.

A Florida-based search and rescue team returned this week from one of the hardest-hit islands in the Bahamas, describing the devastation sustained during Hurricane Dorian as unlike anything they’ve ever seen.
Joseph Hillhouse, assistant fire chief at Gainesville Fire Rescue, was part of a six-man team that collaborated with local emergency services on urban search and rescue missions in the town of Marsh Harbour in the Abaco Islands. (Snip) “There are so many structures that were destroyed, it wasn’t as simple as just going inside… some [bodies] we had to get to, we had to tunnel through debris to be able to reach them.”

Teams of dog handlers from the U.S., Canada and Belgium are uncovering more and more dead bodies among the debris of Bahamas homes hit by Hurricane Dorian, the Health Ministry said.
The Category 5 storm was so powerful that it drowned people who had been seeking refuge in their attics, swept others out to sea, and crushed steel-reinforced concrete structures, according to Health Minister Duane Sands.
“To imagine the combination of 200 mph winds, a 20-25 foot sea surge, torrential rain, the power out, communications out and you have, and this is no cliche, a perfect storm,” Sands said in a phone interview Wednesday.

When the reports of a possible indictment for Andrew McCabe surfaced, we noted it would be interesting to see how the Lawfare alliance responds. Today we can see that response.
Andrew McCabe’s defense attorney, Michael Bromwich (also the attorney for ‘beach friend’ Christine Blasey-Ford in the Kavanaugh narrative), leaks his communication with U.S. Attorney for DC, Jessie Liu, to the New York Times.Leaks to the NYT and WaPo are how the Lawfare alliance push their narrative. These are the same DOJ/FBI officials who leaked to the same media when constructing the Russian Conspiracy narrative around the Trump campaign. [Same exact people]

In a quite admission of food dependency, China purchased 600,000 tonnes of soybeans yesterday (link), and simultaneously announced that U.S. pork and soybean imports would be exempt from further tariff increases.
The surface message Beijing is selling, surrounds their magnanimous panda narrative of reaching out to diminish trade friction. However, below the surface everyone knows China cannot feed itself and if food prices keep rising they could likely have growing unrest.Beijing’s decision to not enhance tariffs of pork and soybeans is very self serving. Particularly because China owns Smithfield foods, the largest producer of U.S. pork. In essence China has lessened tariffs against their own company.

The recession-hoping pundits took more blows to their remaining credibility today when both the Commerce Department and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) deliver excellent economic results from August that continue to exceed MSM expectations.
The Commerce Dept. announced that retail sales climbed by 0.4 percent in August, twice as high as the 0.2 percent analysts had predicted. The result highlights retail sales strength of more than 4 percent year-over-year. These excellent results come on the heels of blowout data in July, when households boosted purchases of cars and clothing.

A moratorium on the refugee resettlement program is “long overdue,” columnist Michelle Malkin says, after American communities have been forced to absorb hundreds of thousands of refugees from across the globe over the last four decades.
(Snip) Malkin — whose latest book, Open Borders Inc: Who’s Funding America’s Destruction?, is now available — said she is encouraged by reports that the Trump administration is looking to halt the mass importation of refugees to the U.S.
“This administration understands the threat that every one of these global compacts poses to American sovereignty, and of course, they are putting that understanding into action, and it’s very encouraging for me to hear plans

It’s been “a summer of hell” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to one palace insider, and royal watchers say the forecast is grim for the fall.
“[The couple’s recent behavior is] a public relations disaster for Buckingham Palace, who are having a hard time reining them in,” said Lady Colin Campbell, the author of several books about the royals. (Snip)“Meghan is clearly calling the shots, but she’s a minor operator who is playing in the big leagues and mucking it up in the most catastrophic fashion,” (Snip)After the couple was criticized for traveling by private jet to Nice and Ibiza, the ecologically minded Harry told a charity audience

And then there were ten.
Showing more mercy than when Democrats took your health plan away, even though you liked it, and much more than they did during, say, the Battle of Poison Spring, the DNC has whittled the debate field down to just ten contenders, facing off on just one night.(Snip)I've been at this for well over three hours, so I'll let one of our slightly less-exhausted (and presumably more sober) PJ writers do the big wrap.
I will say this though: This wasn't a debate. It was an over-long display of huge egos touting small ideas to well-meaning (but sadly misinformed) kids and preening celebrity infotainment newsreaders.

In the opening of the third Democratic debate in Houston, Texas, moderator Jorge Ramos spoke part of his opening statement in Spanish before finishing with “This is our country, too.”
The extremely racially-charged rhetoric from Ramos preceded several race-based questions regarding the status of illegal aliens in the country, where numerous false assertions were made.
Ramos falsely claimed that President Trump referred to all immigrants as “rapists,” and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro (D-Texas) falsely claimed that President Trump inspired the El Paso shooter, even though the shooter admitted in his own manifesto that his views “predate Trump and his campaign for president.”

It’s simply hard to know where to begin to respond to the staggering chutzpah of Jennifer Rubin’s recent Washington Post opinion column accusing the president of undermining our intelligence community.
Rubin used the recent leak regarding the exfiltration (Snip)of an undercover “asset” in Russia as a hook to make the case that the president is somehow responsible for outing this source and therefore harming U.S. interests. Her column is an example of the backward view elite leftists have towards democracy and the Constitution. These elites, in desperate need of a remedial civics class, have convinced themselves that our elected president must learn to take orders from the intelligence community.
