President Donald Trump spent the last couple of days showing maps that indicated Hurricane Dorian's path could include Alabama. On Friday evening, the national agency that gives weather advisories defended his claim. Moreover, the president tweeted a video showing a CNN meteorologist explaining how during the initial reports of Dorian's path that some states in the Gulf of Mexico could possibly be affected.
First, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued a statement that said Dorian's original predicted path did include Alabama.

Re OP comment, the map that I found was dated for a 5 day period around 8/29-9/2. Soon after that the maps began to show a right (upward) turn.

Is that that too many people are doing pot these days or what? Is it that short term memory thing? I clearly remember the report that the hurricane could cross FLA and be another Andrew. What is wrong with these people? We have a thing called video now folks, sorry you can find it, I know the left wants you to believe them rather than your own lying eyes but this is ridiculous.

Gloats? I call it setting the record straight. We cannot allow the media set a false narrative and let it go unchallenged. The President knows this and acts accordingly. If he had not made a statement about this, it would have only emboldened them. They have to be held accountable for the lies they enthusiastically perpetuate. Ignoring this, or taking the high road as many would suggest, does nothing to hold them responsible. They should be called out and I am glad the President did.

inconvenient for the Left that there is now a video circulating of CNN meteorologist shown with AL in cone - and of course the info that AL National Guard put out a warning on 8/30. "truth or facts..." as Joe B would say. i say "narrative or facts">

When I saw the first tracks before it hit in the Bahamas they were showing about five or six possible tracks including crossing Florida into the Gulf. At that point they really did not have a clue where it was going and admitted it. There just so man factors into which direction these storms head. It is rare for the forecasters to get it right early in the process.

I think the greatest part of this is that he used a CNN report! Hoisted on their own petard!

Thanks to our public schools, most people under 50 couldn't find Alabama on the map. All they know is that it's full of mostly republican Trump votin', gun totin' Hillbillies. That also describes all those other states between the coasts.

NOAA is a bastion of "climate change" promoters. It's in the agency's interests for increased funding. The "scientists" there are no friends of PDT.

This is such a none issue! if you look at the chart without the marker, it looked like it was headed to Alabama and Mississippi.

there were early tracks that had it crossing florida, re-emerging into the gulf and going straight into NewOrleans.
What really interests me is with all the forecasting and models, why was it stalling for almost 2 days such a surprise? Nothing in all their data on steering currents and highs and lows and troughs showed conditions that would hold it almost motionless?
Maybe they should check Michael Mann's data and see if it gives any clues. Perhaps the hurricane got stuck in the bend of his hockey stick......

Number 14 above nails it! That map clearly shows Alabama, the Yellowhammer State, in the gun-sights of Dorian.
CNN talking heads make fun of Trump all over their network, Facebook and Twitter, only to find out their own weatherman standing in front of a Gulf of Mexico map, points out Dorian could "... hit Alabama"! You can't make this up. As Bugs Bunny would say about CNN, "What a maroon"! And keeping the cartoon analogy going, Trump again yells "meep-meep" as he sticks out his tongue at the dumb coyote.

Donald the Great responds to the Enemedia every time because they are liars. The Don Lemon vídeo with the announcer repeating Alabama five times was a great Tweet with 1.5 million views almost instantly. Every morning after Lucianne I check “Trump Tweets” which I have on my favorites using Duck Duck Go to avoid Googlespy. Most times you have to search twice because Twitter tries to hide anything Donaldus Magnus, but it is so enjoyable. I do not use Twitter but can read Trump easily. Make America Great Again 2020.

Seems like the leftists are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill! That’s not really good as a lot of innocent people in the Bahamas died as a result of that hurricane. No doubt wherever that hurricane went in put a lot of people’s lives at risk.

You really wonder why the propaganda media picks these fights? Even if Trump HAD misspoken and Alabama wasn't in the cone, so what? Trump isn't a weather forecaster. The worst that would have happened is that people in Alabama would have tuned in their local forecasters and paid close attention.
It was a trivial issue at best. AND it turns out, as usual, Trump was right and the media are morons. Then they whine about being "picked on" and against Trump for having dared to fight back. Do the media enjoy being made fools of, especially by themselves? Self mockery, passing around the Fredo trophy, is the one thing they seem good at.

I watched the computer track models, and early ones had about 4 or 5 of the tracks going across Fla peninsula and hooking up into Alabama or Louisiana.
